- Very rusty old axe restoration. I found this old rusty ax in the woods with a metal detector. This ax is from the First World War period. The ax lay underground for over 100 years. The ax was very rusty and I decided to restore the ax. I removed the rust and sharpened the blade. I made a new ax handle. I hope you enjoyed my restoration video.

Взагалі-то це є "кастомізована" австро-угорська піхотна сокира-кирка Beilpicke M 1896 часів Першої світової. Ковалі по селах відрізали їй кирку позаду і трохи розклепували лезо - і сокирка використовувалась в господарстві для мілких робіт. Або ставала гуцульською барткою.
9/10 . Bardzo podoba mi się że zostawiłeś te krzywizny i nie zrobiłeś nowej siekierki z tego. Trochę rączka nie pasuje mi do tej stali. Zostawiłabym naturalne drewno.

Hey ReXtorer, you should try to make your own rust remover. I saw this video on RUclips that explained how to do it:
1 liter of water
100 grams citric acid powder
40 grams of washing soda or 63 grams of baking soda
Generous squirt of dish soap
It works well and is very cheap to make. It also does not damage base metal like vinegar can do.
I love what the rust does to the metal and how you leave it as part of the restoration. Too bad it takes a 100 year to get like that.

This is a reworked ax from the Austro-Hungarian pickaxe. These pickaxes were manufactured until 1918
