- ATP oil catch can review and installation
A catch can is an essential component for any high-performance engine, especially in the case of a 2JZGTE engine swap in a S15 Silvia. The 2JZGTE is known for its impressive horsepower and torque capabilities, but it also produces a significant amount of blow-by oil and contaminants during normal operation. These contaminants can build up in the engine and lead to reduced performance, reduced fuel efficiency, and shortened engine lifespan.
That's where an ATP oil catch can comes in. This high-quality catch can is designed to intercept and separate oil, fuel, and other contaminants before they can enter the intake system and cause problems. It works by connecting to the engine's crankcase ventilation system and using a series of filters and baffles to filter out these contaminants as they are expelled from the engine.
The benefits of installing an ATP oil catch can on a 2JZGTE-swapped S15 Silvia are numerous. First and foremost, it helps to prolong the life of the engine by preventing the build-up of contaminants that can cause damage. It also helps to improve engine performance by keeping the intake system clean, which can result in increased horsepower and torque. Additionally, an ATP catch can can help to improve fuel efficiency by reducing the amount of oil and other contaminants that are burned during the combustion process.
Installing an ATP oil catch can is relatively straightforward, and can be done by most mechanically inclined individuals. It simply involves mounting the catch can to a suitable location on the engine and connecting it to the crankcase ventilation system. With its high-quality construction and easy installation, an ATP oil catch can is a must-have for any 2JZGTE-swapped S15 Silvia owner looking to get the most out of their engine.

beautiful machine you got there mate, would u mind telling me the wheel and tyre size you got going on your s15 and what the ride height is?
Hey mate. No problem 🤙
Front- 17x9 +22 with 7mm spacers to clear the Evo brembo calipers by 2mm. 245/45 r17 Mickey Thompson street comp and 2.5 negative camber. 1mm toe out
Rear - 17x9 +45 no spacers, 275/40 r17 with 0.5 degree positive camber. 0.5-1mm toe in
Ride hight is about two knuckles clearance above rear tyres to fender lip. Fronts are 10mm clearance above tyre.
I wanted it as high as I could, not a fan of low boy setups. All strait line grip setup.
