Been using the Nodachi, experimenting with different skills atm. Kinda mid game so still deciding what suits me best. Weapon tree gives so many options, finding it hard to choose. Sticking with dmg, crits and part breaks for now. Be great to see your opinion on a build, everyone seems to be spamming bow or using staff.
my favorite with about 20 hours of playtime has been the Wagasa, haven't tried bow, maul, or nodachi. i kind of like the katana, but i'm just in love with wagasa
Yeah I figured this out when I fought the wolf with the stake equipped. So a good tip is to change your other karakuri "except" the basic block. Also, once you've upgraded a dragon pit, you can upgrade it from the map anytime afterwards.
@@justareplica you dont even need to upgrade it. Just touching it once is enough to unlock. So even if you dont have the mats to upgrade at all then you dont have to run there later
You do not need to dismantle a flying vine. You can change its location at any time. Plus, any dragon karakuri you use, you can break at any time to return the pit energy.
Another tip about Healing Water. The game actually has a semi-hidden system where if you use the Healing Water, your character receives a slow movement speed debuff of sorts right after. You can confirm this exists because there are equipment/skills/talismans in the game that gives you the effect of mitigating this movement speed debuff specifically for this case. For the Karakuri Katana, there is a quick trick to deal a lot of damage in a short amount of time which would be to spam the Attack 1 -> Special Attack rinse and repeat combo. You can repeat this about three times with a full stamina meter. I haven't tallied the numbers, but while a full Attack 1 string can't kill small kemono like the turtle on the island beach map, a single Attack 1 followed by 4 hits of the Special Attack's multi-slash move is able to kill them almost within a second. This rips through boss parts faster or even almost instantly if you have the right skills. Fusion Karakuri seem to have i-frames when you block kemono attacks using them as long as you time it right so that the attack hits the fusion while it is in the middle of transformation animation. I think this is intentional because the animation of the wood transforming into one seems to be one specific 3D model per fusion model and they didn't bother making a "destruction" animation just for that instance. This means you can sometimes face tank attacks even while you're summoning a Pounder despite the pounder being normally destructible while the three "boxes" are still visible early on, or right after it finishes the swing and becomes intangible.
LOL Right at the end there you were smacking the Fungus Rat the Karakuri icon appeared above your head. 13:32 A lot of these tips have much better work arounds so let me explain: 1) When you are about to fight the next new enemy, check your karakuri tree and see which one says: This one will unlock during a specific hunt. When you see that, make sure you have the basic karakuri equipped for that fight and then you karakuri button should appear above your head (usually during a boss attack) to give you the necessary karakuri. 2) AVOID ATTACKING IN MID-AIR WHEN YOU NEED TO UNLOCK THAT KARAKURI. Or at least back off during monster attacks as your constant aggression will cause: 13:32 to happen where the game will be unable to help you set the karakuri since you are in the middle of attacking. 3) To save money: Focus on a weapon type to pass through the game with, don't make all 8 weapon types all at once, when you get to end game fights, then branch out to other weapons you haven't spent time practicing, let the first few Kemono be the ones used to choose the weapon you will use for the majority of the game. 4) THIS IS NOT MONSTER HUNTER!!!!!!!!! This game is more like Nioh 2 than Monster Hunter. You don't need to dodge away from attacks, you can roll with i-frames into attacks to get better openings on monsters. The roll is WAY more generous than Monster Hunter. 5) BREAKING MONSTER PARTS>KILL TIME!!!!! Monster hunter had bullshit RNG drops that they've had since the OG games where you swung with the control stick. Instead, focus on breaking parts in this game since those are the parts that are rare since they are solely dependent on you breaking them and picking them up or carving them to get. This is very important for the chicken Kemono since you can break: The chest, the spiky covering on the eyes, cut the tail, and break BOTH sets of claws on each foot. Breaks are VERY important in this game. 6) Don't make a tip video with things that most people know about, then people won't subscribe, seriously, most of this stuff was kinda "DUH" at best or "that's wrong" at worst. 7) When placing any dragon katakuri, don't place it in the middle, but off to the side so that you don't have it trampled by the kemono and make sure to prioritize shortcuts with Dragon Katakuri to catch Kemono faster or just easily traverse the map. 8) There is an upgrade that will help you find the collectibles, aim for that upgrade if you want to hunt them down easily. PREEMTIVELY place the RADAR Dragon Katakuri to cover the whole map so that when you get that upgrade you will see all of the "?" marks all over the map and not miss one. 9) You can pass subskills to weapons all the way across a tree, as you play the game you might realize that you can drag a weapon and a skill all the way to a specific weapon to get certain skills, while you will be limited early on, you will have MANY options once you hit chapter 3 monsters. 10) Focus on 2 sets early on that give you opposing elemental resistances: Elemental damage from bosses hurt, but your resistances can make them hit like wet noodles. I recommend: Kingtusk>Lavaback>Any set with high water resistance, and that will carry you all the way to the end of chapter 2. 11) Certain Katakuri fusions will cause a knockdown sometimes and others will only happen if used during certain attacks or on chance, you will learn these as you go, but some kemono barely have knockdowns (Lavaback) and will be harder until later, when you get the trap fusions that pin the kemono down. 12) Always organize tips with numbers, it makes it easier to find relevant tips and it makes it even better to put shortcuts into videos for those tips, I hope this list helped, have a nice day!
@@Gunsblazin94 Oh yea, any dodge (idk about the sliding dodge) gives you like 1 second of invulnerability. Also hopping on springs at the right time does the same thing. Weapons that really abuse the s in the game are the claw blade and the wagasa due to the claw blade giving you a midair dodge and the wagasa dodge animation being fluid and gives you a better parry window.

One other thing that is useful to know with the animation canceling is that the "jump" command from the celestial anchor will also cancel out the end lag of moves. This is superior to just crafting and then dodging, imo, since the anchors jump causes you to go a fair distance, thus dodging the attack.
You don't just get the Harpoon, its the same as the other fusions where you need an inspiration. It took my friend awhile to get it because he had to stop fireworking the bird every time it took to the sky.
I'm currently using Umbrella and Bow because they are incredibly satisfying. The Umbrella just shreds when it gets going and exploding the Arrows previously fired with the Bow is SO GOOD! Also I want to try out the Claw Blade once I unlock it, since it looks like a lot of fun ^^
and also fun fact about the harpoon, it also acts as a wall, so if the kemono is running at you but the harpoon still haven't shoot, it is still a wall (note that attacks that makes the monsters fall but break the wall will do the same with the harpoon, so you won't get the harpoon damage in that case, i'd suggest using the normal wall for 6 karakuri threads as you can jump on it and while the kemono is doing the animation of getting countered by it you can combo with a jump attack, if you don't have a lot of karakuri threads overall your best bet is the parry shield wall that only costs 4 threads and acts exactly the same as a wall without the benefits of jumping though)
Ye You can cancel a parry with Karakuri, Trey Star, Void Shift, or the in Air version of Trey Star that idr the name of And all of the above can then be recancelled with a 2nd parry, and if youve got the stamina and time you can do this with a 3rd parry
You can only parry into parry on successful parries. If you whiff, then you need to use something in-between (or wait for animation to complete) before you can parry.

I know this video is kinda old but want to mention you can pre built bulkwalls where kemono might flee it'll stun them as fly flee giving extra damage since they fall over

another small tip for karakuri staff users, you can place a training dummy in a safe zone (either base camp or camps that you can find on a specific place of the map) activate the training and charge your gauge like this if the kemono is near the camp, however do not relie on this technic forever since it is probably going to get patched
Double tap or triple tap for more healing 😂😂😂😂😂😂 you have to spam the button to heal once. It’s like the game has RNG on healing, a 25% chance it will heal on each button press
I will state I knew about the water thing but for some reason, im guessing controller issues, it wouldnt always input the double press (ive had other time where even in non critical moments buttons do get missed randomly)
A tip that I don’t see anyone talk about that’s IMO the most impactful: you can animation cancel any skill by building a karakuri. For example, if you’re using the katana duel attack swing, it puts you in an animation for 2-3 seconds. If you know you’re going to get hit, you can animation cancel and make a jump pad to create an to get out of the attack
the fishing village missions.... I completed a fishing enclave mission and can't find where to go to get the check in credit for it... so annoying its not on the map
just going to say another thing almost no one knows is your karakuri can PROC your status effects like poison, sleep, entanglement blaze ect. Iv done it multiple times my harpoons and cross bow repeaters proc my poison and sleep
Its not really that complex, I think most of the younger generation just rush through everything rather than actually taking their time to do things. The most complex thing i have found about Wild Hearts is getting the things you paid for.
Please don't listen to this guy and craft armour at chapter 1 and especially 2, unless you wanna die in 2 hits, the beginners armour is extremely weak and game expects you to craft better armour.
I don't mean to bog down your healpful vid, but the first thing the game doesn't tell you is that the game actually doesn't work properly. I spent 70 USD like many others and cant even play this game. For me, my main issue is crashing and performance. I have better than the bare minimum requirements and land somewhere in the middle ground for decent-good graphics for even games like MHW, running at 45-50fps. Wildhearts is awesome, but extremely frustrating as its actually just unplayable.
@@mikebowler4499 I have. The update does squat for the game. It helped with only a handful of people with high-end pc’s which was stated in the patch. I went through numerous community posts, reddits, and other discussions. The community is actually not that happy, me included. It does not address any form of optimization for pc users. In fact, some people actually has worse performance and are finding a way to play without the new update lol. It’s quite unreal how bad EA and Omega force is going about this, especially since there’s a good population refunding the game.
I used every weapon beside the bow. I change always my weapon after around 2-3 monster kills to create variety. The weapons are amazing and great balanced every weapon is fun. I will start using the bow after I completed the game. I personally love bows, I’m monster hunter too, but I don’t want to make the game easy mode, I want the full challenge and I think melee weapons require way more skill cause you need to always find the right moment to attack

Just a comment on unlocking the Fusion - you need not only to fight the monster but also have the required basic karakuri equiped.

Super helpful tip: if you time your dodges correctly, you can bypass any attack with your s… Aoe attacks and rage explosions included 🙂

The shrine is not correct, not as many as your dragon pits allow. You can place a max of 5 shrines, and 3 wild life (cage or enclosure) per map
Additionally, there are hard limits on other passive gathering dragon karakuri.

I wanted to do that too, but the fact that they both have the same damage type is steering me away from that. :\

I utilise the smaller mobs that tend to get involved into the mix of most hunts. They end up being in the way anyways. 😂

I don't mean to bog down your healpful vid, but the first thing the game doesn't tell you is that the game actually doesn't work properly. I spent 70 USD like many others and cant even play this game. For me, my main issue is crashing and performance. I have better than the bare minimum requirements and land somewhere in the middle ground for decent-good graphics for even games like MHW, running at 45-50fps. Wildhearts is awesome, but extremely frustrating as its actually just unplayable.
They just released a patch so try updating the game
@@mikebowler4499 I have. The update does squat for the game. It helped with only a handful of people with high-end pc’s which was stated in the patch. I went through numerous community posts, reddits, and other discussions. The community is actually not that happy, me included. It does not address any form of optimization for pc users. In fact, some people actually has worse performance and are finding a way to play without the new update lol. It’s quite unreal how bad EA and Omega force is going about this, especially since there’s a good population refunding the game.
I mean its probably just some consoles though as mine and my brothers consoles run perfectly fine there's no bugs or anything

I used every weapon beside the bow. I change always my weapon after around 2-3 monster kills to create variety. The weapons are amazing and great balanced every weapon is fun. I will start using the bow after I completed the game. I personally love bows, I’m monster hunter too, but I don’t want to make the game easy mode, I want the full challenge and I think melee weapons require way more skill cause you need to always find the right moment to attack
IMO the claw blade makes the game much easier than the bow does.
The ranged weapons require good positioning, especially the bow. If anything the cannon is far easier than anything other than the claw blade.
