Tried it with game pass/ea play 10-hour trial, first real boss, the rat and nearly died several times, had to hide among ruins, and trees and attack when it got tired after a big wind-up attack, took 8mins + to kill it, felt like 20 mins, wasted nearly 20 health pots, had to run around looking for those health pot plants (you can only carry 10). It is a worthy competitor to Monster Hunter, a game which I also suck at.
Hard disagree with the Wagasa being good for beginners. The per - hit damage is so low that you need to be playing very aggressively to get consistent damage output, which means that you need to be very good at the parry (which has a tight timing window) or know the target's tells and how to position. Neither of those conditions is beginner friendly.
Also the stamina not being used by weapons. Let me introduce you to nodachi. You're going to have to manage your stamina a lot because in order to do damage you have to hold down your special which drains stamina and you have to not get hit at all or back to zero. And you're trying to do basic attacks as well which puts you right in front of the monster which one miss timed dodge back to zero. Now the way to counter is by using the spring which refills a little after use
This is one of the few clone games that I would call better than the original solely due to the QoL stuff MH could really use. Being able to run with your weapon drawn and being able to gather materials with it drawn are massively needed in MH. This just seems more fun because it's less of a management game and more of a arcadey game.
Most of all has a good tutorial. I tried Rise and it thinks shoving 20 textboxes in my face is a good tutorial and then expects me to remember it after half an hour. The only real tutorials were the bug and photo mode. I guess I'll just picture them to death I guess. I went into it blind and left blind and overwhelmed.
Disagree with bladed wagasa.. it’s “consistent stream of damage” (most likely talking about left click) is nigh negligible. It’s source of damage actually come from combos from the parry, specifically the access to the extremely bursty parry+light+light (umbrella throw) at red gauge that does sooo much damage. No parry = no consistent gauge = actually 0 damage
Pretty sure they will fix the umbrella cause atm it's to hard to build meter for it so most players don't get to experience the real damage output it does. Making it a low use weapon
Can you please clarify what Kemono drop Kemono orbs? Normal, Mighty, Volatile etc. I've farmed the normal Ragetail and Kingtusk but I'm not sure I've seen these orbs drop in the fight. Thank you!
If you have gamepass ultimate or 5 bucks to spare, you can do the 10 hour trial on EA Play (or pay 15 bucks for Pro if you're on PC and just play the game however long you want). It's very fun, it's a lot more casual than Monster Hunter imo and the building works surprisingly well. Only thing I would be wary of is the performance of the game rn seems to be really bad. I was dropping below 30 FPS on PS5 in Performance mode and PC hasn't been fairing any better, so I'd personally keep an eye out and see if they update the game to fix performance before full on dropping the 70 bucks
on pc, turning to 7.1 surround sound fixes some fps issues for some reason, vsync and lock to 60 fps does as well, building is super fun and the weapons are unique and fresh coming from a mh fan
I definitely think the bladed wagasa is the most difficult of the starting weapons and the maul is by far the easiest to learn and play. If you have played any MH game before learning Wild Heart weapons should be fairly easy.
Can you make a guide on how to increase the FPS and remove the popping and glitches? I'm on PC and it's unbearable. Mind you I have a 2080Ti and 32Gb of Ram
Already played for several hours on PC, if you can stomach 30 fps this is a very solid game. I glad koei tecmo doesn't make it casual. Game is tough but satisfying. For me it can scratch the MHW itch I always long
I wish after this we got a medieval or darkgrim setting of monster hunting genre (example like soul sacrifice) im definitely tired with this Japanese setting lol
Monster Hunter fanclub has some very toxic individuals in it. Hating something just because it's not made by Capcom. I've play 6 hours so far and it's a refreshing take on the Monster hunting genre. Combat is amazing for sure better then Monster hunter period but, this game of course has flaws in performance and some design chooses. Overall is it worth $70 probably not but the game is fun and co-op makes it more enjoyable.

Right! Wasn’t expecting it but after using dark souls and Elden ring tactics it was easy

Thank you for saying this, i was going nuts when he said bladed wagasa as a beginner friendly weapon, where it's literally the opposite.

Love these fextralife vids . Straight to the point, no bs ✌️💚💯
Sim City camp building + Monster Hunter is a really good idea. Really want to give this a go.
Plus fortinite in the mix
This game looks sick

Are you guys going to do a review?
Great advice Ty

Thank you for the great review. I’m still not sure if I’m getting this game. I’m not a huge fan of hub based games.
At least here you control where to build the hubs.
Do the items that the monster drops disappear after I die?
I hope a demo gets released. I don’t wanna drop $60-$70 without trying it out first.
$5 for one month of EA play gives you demo of game that Carrie’s over.
@@TwoLiterSoda cool thanks.
Does Lydia Tar do the soundtrack for this game too?
Ngl I love mhw but wildhearts just feels so much better and chasing monsters isn't as tedious as in mh thanks to all manner of traversal
Another good tip is to eat unless I missed that part.
Sounds a little like it could quickly turn into a health management sim.I appreciate there being a demo.

There will be a mighty and volatile kemono spawn after final boss.
@@randiannahdi thank you! The way it was presented in the video was that they should be dropping from any/all large Kemono!
@@celticwomanfan01 ur welcome mate.
I am still curious about this game, is it any good in the end?

10+ hours on the maul. Yes, I was a 🔨 main on mhw 💪

It's the game itself my friend. We are all suffering together

Wagasa is not a beginner friendly weapon lol. Parry window is tight as fk.
Yes, later it got little bit easier if you have the dodge master passive, but yes its not a beginner friendly lol

Right, MHR was so in your face Eastern.
Wagasa squaaaad
Leo the monster have no health bar?
Nope. Dumb design. Elitist try hards love it though.

$70 is a hefty price, nice game tho.
Yoooo
not paying an extra 10$ for this though
Kinda strange how this game looks so old, but it just came out. Looks like a 2015 game or something.
Tips 1: Don't play on PC
I'm not a fan so far, it's EA so that killed it in the cradle for me. And I can't be bothered with building crap during the fight.
I agree. If I wanted to build shit I’d play fortnight.
This game is DOA
Bad release date between hogwarts and wo long dont think many will spend 70 dollars for this one
Nah not with MH rise players waiting for sunbreak.
Ngl this game has more fun combat that Monster hunter ever had. The hook blade is the coolest weapon I’ve ever used to hunt monsters
