I just did the free trial. You get “ten hours” to play but you can only do 3 story missions and fight like 3 monsters. Once you complete the third mission you will reach the gates of Minato then you have to purchase the full game to continue progressing. I enjoyed my time with it, I was left wanting more. I fought king tusk, knocking him over by constructing the barricade and then going ham on him with the whip sword was really satisfying
The building system is really what locked it in for me. It's so fun and creative. Ziplines all over the map like death stranding. Love this game!! Really hope they improve ps5 performance and resolution
Death stranding angered me. That stupid baby he is carrying… the stupid amount of weight. The acid rain… the complete nonsense… it made zero sense. Even after watching a “death stranding explained” video.
You can travel farther by glider if as soon as you start going down jump off of the glider and conjure another one immediately just make sure you have enough threads
I pet the first animal, and didn't even know it mattered 😂 just thought he was cute. Here's a question (just started tonight) - those bunny things he said we can pet charge at you early in the game...are you able to just pet them? I auto-murdered those poor things 😅 I think you have to sneak up to them to pet them - is that correct?
I've played Monster Hunter since the first game on PS2. This has been a refreshing and excellent alternative to the series. I'm having a blast with this game.

This game is super fun and definitely has its own identity compared to Monster Hunter. I hope the devs put a good chunk of resources into optimizations and future DLC. The fact that it's cross play is a huge win alone. They nailed the hunts, now they just need to refine and optimize everything else.

It's open world like Toukiden? That's awesome! My favorite thing to do in open world ganes is explore and Wild Hearts seems to allow that so day one purchase for me then.
Quick question for the armor, you see for example it says -3 > -5 does that mean your resistance to fire attacks is weaker? or stronger? Also when it comes to getting materials I noticed some say the kemonos name. Does that mean I have to kill it again? or just hunt it and cut off a specific part?
If it reads red, you got weaker. But if it reads green, you got stronger. And if you hover over that said upgrade and press pad on pa5, it’ll show you the name and how you get that said material

I haven’t played any demon souls or this game and actually I’m kinda just getting into major gaming in my 30’s 😂 my parents banned video games growing up and I was working far too much in my 20’s. So if anyone had recommendations of the best next game please let me know. Im debating this or demon souls or hopefully Diablo 4 (but I’ve never played any Diablo) 4 look amazing though.
As an ER veteran this game is tough because the dodging isn't the same and the bosses have very odd tells for attacking. Struggling my way through with those old habits but still excited !
I have a major concern, as in how to multiplayer works, Please tell me its true co-op as much as i loved MHW the fact that i cant play it co-op without both me and my freind having to do the quest before hand really made me stop playing
If you have trouble on a monster you can join a game from your camp fire. If no game is found then it asks if you want to host. People join within seconds. You can continue playing in your session after you kill said boss. There’s also “assists” count for one boss then kicks everyone back to their own game.
Somebody please help me I beat the spine glider and unlocked the glider karakuri but for some reason I can’t use the actual wing glider on my character
I know for sure there's gonna be some sort of layered armor system, but has it been confirmed to be at launch? Or, are we waiting for a later date? Although, I'm still a bit confused as to how the human/kemono armor system work. Are the skills connected to the individual pieces of armor? Or, is it more akin to Nioh, where the skills are only active when you met a threshold on the human or kemono bar?
Issues i have seen first hand during the demo on series x is audio bugs doing quests (overlapping chat). Some visual bugs especially in darker areas of the map. I haven’t gotten stuck yet so that’s a plus. Sometimes when placing crates really fast it won’t connect sometimes or stack. Unsure how it is on ps or pc
How is the co op in this game? Can we do the campaign with our friends or is it like MH where we need to progress in story separately and then quit out just to pair up again
another game I don't have the time to enjoy...still have the last 10% of Elden Ring to finish, The Last of Us Part 1, Horizon Forbidden West and Dead Space all still in plastic...and that's just on PS5...got maybe 5% into Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Tatics Orge Reborn on the Switch...and that's just "recently"...I WILL be finishing the RE4 remake though even if it leaves me forlorn and maidenless
@MrZesky I work 12 hours a day, sometimes 7 days a week...usually at least 5 or 6...a mix of day shifts and nights shifts at that...I have plenty of time there to watch RUclips, movies, TV shows, whatever I want...but I can't very well bring my 55" TV and ps5 to work every day, pretty sure I wouldn't have a job for very long...
Is it just me or is this game much harder than any of the Monster Hunter game this early? I only played World and Rise, but I can not remember a 1 star monster give me this much trouble than the raven like creature in the first area. He does 70% of my HP, with new armor, and the first time I died right be for the time was out, and last time I rage quit, because had 50% HP when he did a 70% hp attack. I have no idea how to beat this thing. So many attack this hard to dodge, and it's hard to make the jump pads before he attack. Maybe I need to change weapon to a bow or something. 1 star and 2 star monsters suppose to be this hard? The 2 star big boar looking thing litterly one shotted me with it's first attack. Maybe I should continue the story, and go to the new island, maybe I will get gear to beat them.

Yeah remember you can demolish them too and rebuild them. The more of the map you open up the more spots will jump out at you

The Karakuri looks like an integral part of the combat mechanics.
It is. A lot more than I expected. Even the little spring boards make a big difference.

You can also power up the dragon pits from the map, you don’t need to manually go to each one in person. I thought that was really handy dandy.

You will feel at home using the umbrella. It's like a glaive with a parry.
I feel like the claw blade is a lot more like insect glaive then the unbrella, the umbrella is actually more like long sword with the parries

You can use the flame torch for weapon as spring if you spawn 2 fast and on top of each other. A jump attack with flame buff is good and easy to spam.
