    Before I bought this product, I put a sample piece in water and left it for 24 hours in water to see how it would hold up. It showed no water saturation when I took it out from the water. Will be installing this in my dining room this weekend.

    My fiancé and I were looking at all kinds of flooring last night, and we both decided we like the look of Pergo Outlast better than basically everything except site-finished hardwoods. It’s got an incredible 3d-like look to it due to the subtle beveling. I was a total hardwood snob and dead set against laminate until I saw it in person. Good to know it’s apparently durable and capable of surviving a basement flood.

    So how does this stuff compare to the other Pergo products? (Timber craft, Portfolio and the XP? What is "Wet Protect vs. SpillProtect? Lots of terms to learn and no clear definitions on even the Pergo website. Which is "good, better or best? And how do these compare to Vinyl Laminate floors?

    • @halfpac5
      @halfpac5 2 года назад

      Wet protect is where conditions can be more often wet, where are the spill protect is for spills...both technologies were created and backed by mohawk flooring.

    Can you cut clean through the plank using a 10” miter saw without having to flip the board over to finish the cut? Thank you.

    thanks. I am still considering LVP, but I really like the look and feel of laminate. But I've been very disappointed with water damage from even minimal amounts of water. LVP is great and durable...but so thin. Different material, apples and oranges. But if this Outlast or the Wet Protect is as good as they say they are, I may go with this instead!

      Hi@@robertnewman4105
      I am in the same situation and wanted to hear your experience
      I live in an apartment building so water flood won't be a problem for me.
      Let's say I have a dog and the dog spills water everywhere. If I just leave the water there and let it dry naturally, will that be a problem?
      Thank you in advance

    Is that vintage pewter oak? I just did my floor in that. Absolutely love it. Wasn’t easy but it was my first time and I had some hiccups. It’s a learning process. Wasn’t the easy “click” together. Very sturdy. I took a door off the hinges to get into my closet area to give a flowing look everywhere. Door fell over while I was doing the baseboards. Not a scratch or a dent went into the floor. This is some great laminate

    If you've ever been in an office with hardwood floors and women with high heels, you know its not a good combination. High heels pit hardwood floors really bad.

    Didn't even mention the waterproofing around the edges with backer rod and silicone specific to pergo outlast. Laminate is garbage. I tear out more laminate than I put in.

    Just bought this for my house. What color and did you pull baseboards for seamless look? I didn't see any crown round.

    • @ColtonLex
      @ColtonLex  5 лет назад +2

      Awesome You will be happy with it! We did the “vintage pewter oak” and yes on this project I pulled the trim . I really only use crown if I have bowing or waves going on with the sub floor or concrete ( crown has a lot more flex to it then trim so this allows me to hide any flaws in the Existing floor)!

    • @ChristoffProject
      @ChristoffProject 5 лет назад +2

    Unfortunately, Pergo Outlast does not outlast in a flood. Run your own test with a sample in a pot of water next to actual solid waterproof vinyl flooring like Loose Lay Vinyl or Vinyl Sheet Flooring or even rigid Vinyl flooring like Lifeproof. The Pergo Outlast will start to swell at the edges after a few days. The actual waterproof Vinyl flooring will be like brand new. You definitely should not use any Laminate flooring if you want waterproof. You need Vinyl.

    Contractor over 40 years renovations. Your ignorance has blinded you. Hard wood flooring is superior for main areas. Tile for kitchen and bath. Laminate in closets. Drop a coin on it. That is the sound your noggin makes.
