After watching the video advert i was still skeptical. But when i finally downloaded the plans ruclips.net/user/postUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG i was very impressed. The whole plan was just as you said in the video. Thank you very much. I now have a large and valuable collection for my woodworks. This is great!
I just have to put my two cents in here. "Rockler glue brush." I have one just like it. Only, it says Betty Crocker on it. I bought it at a Dollar store. It's supposed to be a basting brush. Made of the same stuff. $1.00 😉
Man, I did the same thing! I trimmed the tips down to about 1/4in which gives a little more control. I also got that Betty Crocker mini spatula thing which is handy for intial glue laydown
@@TracksWithDax Rockwell sells em for less than $10 so you can have an actual one made of the best possible material and shapes exactly the way it’s needed or you can get the cheap one like you and make these little turkey base looking things and do your little tacky build..time is money so you spend more money in time with the building of this very inexpensive glue tool or you look to save money and time elsewhere
You have such an easy way of explaining your work. The why, the how, etc... your camera presence is on point and your foreman is too kind! Keep inspiring!
I have to second this comment. I love how you don’t use complicated words you don’t understand how to use to explain things. You just use normal words like a normal person. Perfect.
Just wanted to say, I am a gamer, whos day job is IT for steel manufacturer. I will never do my own woodworking. But I found your channel earlier this year (the RUclips algorithm gets weird sometimes), and I have become addicted to your content. I don't know if it's your soothing voice, or the care and dedication you put into each piece, but I will continue to watch every video you put out. Keep up the good work!
The example at 3:49 showing the difference between wood strips with and without "softened" edges is really interesting. I like this kind of attention to detail.
Hello, I’m an old retired builder going on 60 years. It’s how I’ve fed my family and put my kids through college, nuff said. I find you to be an excellent maker, but more importantly, I believe your probably a pretty decent human being too. At the end of the day it’s more important then skill. Thanks.
The first thing I noticed when I clicked on this was the hardware. I really like it. It's a nice alternative to the standard black or stainless steel options. I also like that there's no backer board for the track. One of the benefits of drilling your own holes for mounting it to the wall studs.
we have a giant barn door on our conference room / tornado shelter (yea barn door on a tornado shelter ... thanks interior designers) and the filler strip make it wobble and glonk every time you move it, turned me off of the idea
@@osgeld are u referring to the backer board? It shouldn't move. Did you not anchor it into the studs? Or did you not put the correct spacers between the track and the backer board so your rollers and hardware would not hit your backer when opened and closed? Just curious..

I personally love the orange hardware, but, orange is my favorite color. I love when the “foreman “ stops by. That young man has the best smile, always makes me smile when he walks in. Thanks for another awesome video. 👍🏻
I hope to see another lego build video. The Lagos man was so inspiring. So funny as well. I loved when you oiled its back like a massage. Maybe you could make an helmet, gun , or lego car.
I was very excited that you were building a giant barn door since I am building a 10' by 24' door for my barn. I very much enjoy your woodworking videos.
Now that actually IS giant! I don’t if this one qualifies as giant, it’s not even 4 feet wide. Nonetheless I think it looks nice and I’m probably going to apply some of those techniques in building my own door so I’m not gonna hold it against him, too much. 😂
Orange? ORANGE?!? Are you crazy? What is this, Dukes of Hazard? Love the door and your ingenuity. Great video as always. Keep cranking them out, love them all.
Give that foreman a bonus. That’s how you take care of your people!! Thank you for this video I made large barn doors a few years ago using tongue and groove fencing. They look great, but they warp and twist throughout the year. Now I understand why. I’ll do better next time thanks to your insight on a stable substrate and thin hardwood strips.
Great design and video. I appreciated that you showed how you changed design in process. Also the softening two edges to show off the pattern is a great tip!
That video was exactly what I actually need - I have to fill three holes in my house. Many thanks for your great inspiration. Best greatings from Germany
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love the barn door look.Except they all seem to do the same design. But I think you knocked it out of the park with this design very different and looks stunning. Always love your content and humour
They all have the same basic look, because they are suppose to look like a barn door. What he has is not a barn door it is a hung door that slides on a rail . Do not get me wrong it is a beautiful door done with great skills, but it is not a barn door IMO.
Nice job. Looks great Love your humor. I’ve been a carpenter for many years and always liked working with guys like yourself. Makes work much more enjoyable 😎
We have an opening between the living room and a dining/office that I'd love to do this to but not just a door but a sliding book shelf. Fantastic work sir!
Awesome as always Brother! We have 2 of our kids' bedrooms that overlook the livingroom/dining room area, that for years know have just been basically open window boxes, I have thought of this barn door idea several times but for some reason put it on the back burner,... now after watching this I think I know why, there are sooooo many ideas to be had when building them instead of just old plain barn wood doors. You truly are an inspiration!
I hate orange and would not want it in my house, but you live in your house and should love what's in your house! I love the geometric look you created.
I bought inexpensive barn door fittings off of Amazon for my v large door - twice the width of yours. Amazingly they worked. Bloody love a huge barn door.
Beautiful video, enjoyed every minute. You almost forget that you are filming and editing this also. This often doubles the time (and effort) into a project. Much respect ✊
Dude, I've been trying to find a hanger system for my barn door for six months. If I had just waited for this video, I could have saved so much frustration and time. Rustica looks awesome and I'm excited to see this project done. Great work as always, my friend!
Great work!! I have made a fair number of sliding barn doors for both actual barns and the more decorative interior style. I learned a few things from this video that will be significant time savers when I make the next one.
Dude, love this. I said it on instagram, and I’ll say it here, you 100% made the right call on the center! Currently looking for inspiration on my own barn door build, thanks for the reference material 👍🏽
