I am currently 11 years old and I really enjoy this configuration of Windows Server 2012 because, I am a geek at IT and I love using computers for configuration or setting them up and some people say that learning very complex stuff at this age is surprising but later in my like, I'll remember who taught me configuring a server on RUclips!
I know you made this video in 2013 but, you are really good and I completely understand what you say to me!
I hope you would make more IT videos but anyways, keep it up :)
dammm dude, im proud of you brother. go on son
Yes I am 11 year old IT guy/professional and I do confirm his videos are pretty cool
me but at 14! Im currently trying to work with Active Directory and Virtual Machines and Thin Clients and All of the VDI stuff which is quite confusing sometimes!
Sam A nice 😁. I’m 14 years old and I’ve successfully made active directory domain servers several time. But the most recent one i did I successfully set up group policy objects and stuff like that.

I like to thank you for 2012 spool up from 2007 looks like some GUI changes and such but its all the same ... Thank you for the basic walk through on locations, This is a great instruction video.. It kinda reminded me of sitting in the class room once more..lol
love your videos Eli, im using them as a refresher and to find out the new features of server. I have my MCP in server 2000 but have not done anything with pc's for a while now. One thing i would like to point out is you forgot to go through the process of authorizing the dhcp server with active directory. Keep up the good work and thanks again for producing these videos
Don't think you need to authorize it. I recently installed a Server 2012 DHCP in our domain at work, and i did not authorize it. It seems like it did that all by itself.
I was also interested in why he configured the “Basic” scope to hand out 101 addresses, but left the subnet mask at an 8 prefix of 255.0.0.0
you are so Intelligent Guy and a good teacher, your tutorials are clear,, thank you for the knowledge,, i can no setup my own,
This is very nice! Very clear! Great job! I am doing MCSE now. Hopefully I can pass. :p
Thank you Eli, you help me even after 8 yrs 🥺
Great stuff. Thanks for the little DHCP intro.
Eli you are the BEST teacher.
Attention!!
I went through many hours furiously trying to figure out why I couldn't get my server connected to my "lab" router. It turned out I had to set the network adapter in Virtualbox to "bridged" and not NAT (which is the default setting). Just thought someone else was struggling with the same issue. ;)
So glad I found this comment. I was beating my head off of my desk for about an hour over this exact problem!
This guy better than my instructor
Thankyou
Thank you Eli, I like your teaching style and your t-shirt Too LOL. good luck in whatever you do.

I had to setup a DHCP relay, and something else that was causing issues was that the dhcp windows server was unauthorised n

When you are not next to the Whiteboard, it is disappointing,
Please consider going back to the old whiteboard as it is you what make these videos understandable. your gestures and expressions become part of the explanation that I have so far learned.
Thanks Eli, Excellent video.
Thank you! I have been trying to do this for my personal server.
Thank you Eli. Very helpful for my schoolwork. :)
You have to set the network within VirtualBox for both machines... id say to set them to Internal network with the default Internal Network name.... Right click virtual machine in virtualbox - select settings - select Network....
Good video for basic DHCP setup and installation.
Nice, thanks. Found it very easy to understand.

Thank you a lot Eli, I was trying to make WDS to work but the client didn't connect and was scratching my head why. Thanks to you i finally managed to make it working, all it needed was a proper scope and your tutorial worked great. Thanks a bunch
You are an impressive guy.

Oh its gone green now, not sure why but everything is now fine.
P.S.
Grreeeaaattttt video's Eli, I've just started studying for my Server 2012 exam and these videos are a great source of information.
great explain thank you Eli
You missed activating the authorization server
I spent around an hour trying to understand why I had red arrows down for DHCP..Server authorization sorted it..
I wasted 2 hours trying everything that the forums suggested. Thank you Rod!
THANK YOU ROD
You want to unauthorize that first. Then authorize your server name again, then it will be green.
Was just struggling to work out why my PC couldn't find the DHCP server... thank you
Nice, very well.....Thanks for the Help
thank you for this lenson its make me more clear with the configuration
Thank you, another helpful video =)
In case anyone have problems authorizing the DHCP server, make sure that your account is part of the domain admins and that your account password is set to meet complexity requirements for when you have to use credentials. To be safe you should specify the account rather than use the first option. Push comes to shove create a new user with the appropriate permissions and authorize from that account. Worked for me. This is if you get the error code 20070.
thanks brother for tutorials
Thank u soooooooo much. u really made my day
Great Knowledge sir
Great video!
thanks for the explanation
Great video. I didn't hear you mention it, but one time I had a brand new server commissioned, and the IP addressing and connectivity was really messed up and it turned out to be cached entries on a switch. Just in case someone out there is frustrating over it I thought I'd include the reboot of the switch part!
