Dear ELi, I have been worried since last six years, about what is server and what is client and what is active directory,DNS,DHCP and all...I Never understood the difference between server and client. But since i started watching all your videos last week of Windows Server 2012 , i learned a lot and i understood each and everything. You explanation procedure is really awesome. I gratefully thank to you from bottom of my heart. You have made my life really easy. You are a wonderful human being , Again- Thanks a million !!!
This guy is going to make me rich so much knowledge explained extremely well. Im 20 from the UK trying to advance my career. Trust me if you want to improve your overall IT Knowledge this is the guy.
ELI, I have just finished watching all your Windows Server 2012 classes. I was very impressed with the quality of the content and the method of learning that you impressed in classes. Thank you for the simple explination of the ins and outs of Server 2012. It has helped me greatly with understanding what is required for a good installation and configuration of the server system. I am looking forward to watching all the future classes you produce on this subject. Thank you for a quality job!
You explain this in a much easier way than my teachers did.. I am getting my IT degree and going thru all of these refreshes my memory and clap clap to you sir. Good video.
What a lecture.... you are so pedagogic, educative and very clear English. Even me could understand you. I really thank you for your time and I would love to donate if you have donation site. Thank you again!
You work is much appreciated, helped me consolidate my courses from 2012 as I didn't really use Windows Server in my most recent roles. I plan to contribute.
Love all your lessons! I have a question. How can we deploy a software using a group. e.g at my office we assign group which defines a software and it further added to the users profile. Once the group is added, it shows up in Microsoft Software Center the next day (as replication takes time) How do we setup a group to deploy a particular software from a source.
Hi, I'm trying to understand, how is this different from adding group policy to organizational Units, And when would i use group policy and when would i add users to groups?
I have seen in another video. Is it the same thing to do the opposite? Instead of adding user to the group, I have made the user a member of a group from the user account itself by selecting "member" and added the group to the user.
Hi Eli, I have been following this course for a while and I really appreciate how to walk throught the differents topics.I have only one question,Can I book for the windows 2012 certification,at this point ,by following these 12 videos or I have to buy the unleanched book? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks again!!!
Thanks for awesome videos explaining a lot of things. Really helps getting some ideas for my School Project where we set up a Network with groups and users with different permissions:)
I am new to Windows server but this is how I see it: - Global group: This is not the most frequent group you will make, you can add users from your domain into your group and everyone can see your group name. -Local group: In local groups you can put global groups or users but here it is important to know that nobody can see your group name. You are the only person that can see it so it means you can configure it correctly for own purposes as admin. Last is the - Universal groups where you can add groups from different domains that are trusted with your domains into it. Also here can everyone see the name
thx very nice video but what about organization/structure best practice (to separate builtin users/groups from manually/script created) thx again for video!
Your video's are great. Are there gonna be some more advanced server video's, like what about global groups, domain local, universal, nesting, AGDLP, .... The other day I was also looking for RSAT and the FSMO roles, kerberos, template users, ... and it would've been great to find those on your chanel to. I'm a starting teacher (Microsoft) and i really enjoy to watch your video's if I prepare my classes.
I'm running windows server standard eval and I want to upgrade to full retail version and I know I have to Install additional domain controller and then remove AD DS from domain controller that run evaluation version , my question is if I remove AD DS do I have to create users and make all settings from beginning or can I save this somehow ?
Make another member server. Promote it to DC. Then transfer the DNS, FSMO roles and global catalog to it. Then demote your original DC. Your users, groups and computers should all be fine. Once you have done the upgrade. Repeat the process to restore the primary DC.

File access lists are a pain to change if the directory is deep and not inheriting, then adding a person to a group is faster (and can be delegated)
