With respect to Alan’s wife’s wishes, it still makes me feel so warm-hearted knowing Alan wanted kids. My dad didn’t want kids and resented me all throughout my childhood. It seems like so many dads either didn’t want kids, disappeared, or were abusive to them. I’m glad family men like Alan are around. Alan may not have had any biological children but I hope he knew he had a hand in positively shaping all the childhood Potter fans that grew up seeing him as Snape, finally learning Snape’s true intentions at the very end. In a small way, all of us were his kids.
@SilasGrieves My thoughts, exactly. Blood makes a relative, but it's love that truly makes a family. The man who wanted to be a dad so badly now has BILLIONS of children, and he always will. (4/11/2022)
My mother divorced my father before I was born, so I never got the chance to meet him. But when I turned 18, a couple of years after my father had died, his older brother came to talk with me and explained why I never met him. Don't be so quick to assume "so many dads" don't want their kids or disappear, some have vindictive wives who do everything they can to hurt their ex husbands by denying them access to their kids. Today it's even worse, no evidence is required, just the accusation of abuse and the dad isn't allowed near his children. A vindictive mother then has years to turn children against their dad. Before you assume a narrative about negative male traits is true, you should ask questions. Did your dad always tell you mom he didn't want kids? Did she decide to ignore him and get pregnant? Are you actually your dad's child? Instead of assuming things you don't know for certain, try asking your dad why he seemed to resent you.
I'm sorry for your experience as a child, feeling unwanted and resented. I think it's spineless to agree to have children if you really don't want them, and then treat them as if it's their fault they exist. I don't have children by choice but strangely I generally feel somewhat protective towards them. Like they shouldn't be mistreated, ever.
As someone who had real difficulty bringing a live baby home, it breaks my heart that his wife never wanted any. I agree with you though that he made a great role model for our kids. My daughter and I both have a bit of darkness ourselves and he showed her that you can be a little dark and still work for good.
I couldn't do it, being a Dad one day is what keeps me going when I get too stressed and tetering on the edge of depression I think come on you don't want to be a bad role model to your future kids and keep going. Honestly if I was given the choice become rich and famous and live a long life with whoever you want to be your spouse or have children but die young and unsuccessful but leave your family with enough when your gone I'd pick the 2nd answer. Nothing is worth more to me than my children even though they're not even born yet. That might seem weird but it's how I feel. But mad respect to Alan Rickman to being able to give up his dream of being a father, then again maybe he could because Dan, Emma, Rupert, Tom and all the potter kids were like his own children. Who knows...
I feel sad for Alan, he never got to experience all the feeling of having a child. He was a very good man to give up one of his dreams for his wife. It is a tough decision to do. Alan you are sadly missed!

My favorite part is when Ron and Harry were desperate for ball dance partners the way Alan Rickman ( oh sorry professor Snape) reacted... that was one of the best for me...
The parts I liked best were when he produced Lilly’s doe as his own patronus in front of Dumbledore. It was the first time he showed in just one spell how much he loved Lilly. And his only reply to Dumbledore’s surprise about it was, “Always”. I was also glad they showed him crying while holding Lilly’s body, in the book it never said he even saw her dead body. It was a clear moment that Snape had a heart, and Alan showed so much emotion in that one scene! Even I got teary eyed at the scene when Snape came in and saw her on the floor.

And thankfully, we can visit our frien by rewatching the body of work he left behind. And I loved getting to see the fun side of him on Jimmy Fallon. When he made Jimmy apologize for the Rickman off with Benedict Cumberbatch - while Alan and Jimmy were inhaling helium. Too funny.
I loved him in “Something The Lord Made”. I always watched interviews with him and he was a delight. He was funny, charming, bright and down-to-earth. He was one of the few actors that kept trying to perfect his craft without letting acting define him as a person. He truly made those around him feel loved, respected and appreciated.
It's weird but my favourite moment is in Goblet of Fire where they were all in study hall, Hermione just left in a huff because Ron's and idiot and so Harry and he are talking and Snape comes over and just...pulls up his sleeves a bit, and like just SHOVES their heads down. I don't know why. I just really like that scene. Couldn't ever imagine anyone else ever play Severus Snape.
@AtlanTIS It just proves that the character DID have something of a sense of humor buried within. So did a scene from that same movie, which is only used in the televised extended cut: when he's looking through the carriages outside in the snow, to see if students are making out. (4/11/2022)

It's so strange how life works, he didn't have kids of his own despite wanting them perhaps... but worked in the biggest children movie franchise worldwide and played a character that was finally loved and respected by kids all around the world.
I miss this man! RIP and he in my opinion MADE the entire movie series what it is today… His acting/real life attitude is a INSPIRATION for generations!
I don't think anyone could have convinced us of the reality of his character's pain and suffering they way he did. He was truly brilliant and was as important as any other actor in making us feel this series of films were something real. You just fell into complete acceptance.
I miss him so much and it makes me incredibly sad, that I never got the chance to meet him in person. My favorite part is probably from the third movie « Prisoner of Askaban » when he placed himself in front of Harry, Ron and Hermione to protect them from Lupin. Proof that he cared for them. At least for my little depressed Slytherinheart... 😢😭😔 🐍🪲🦖🐸🫀
Except it didn't happen in the book. He was still unconscious at that point. People will point to that scene as proof he cared for the students. No, he bullied them. Read the books, and don't fall for Alan Rickman's portrayal of Snape. Book Snape was a man obsessed with Lily Potter, willing to let Harry die until Dumbledore called him out on it, then carried on protecting him because he held a grudge against Voldemort and had made a promise to Dumbledore. Even at the end when he says his famous "always", people overlook what came before. The venomous way he spat out, "for him?", when Dumbledore asked if Snape had come to care for Harry. If Snape had ever truly loved Lily, he would have cared for her son. Instead, he didn't care if one year old Harry died, and he bullied Harry, and resented him until the very end. He humiliated Hermione and made her cry. He was Neville's worst fear. He was a Death Eater who only changed his ways when it affected his obsession. He wasn't a good man, he was a grey character. Alan Rickman was a great actor, and the movies left out the worst of his character because it was a children's movie, and added scenes that didn't exist in the books. Sorry, your Slytherin heart needs to be broken again. Here is a list of good Slytherin characters: Horace Slughorn, Andromeda Tonks, Regulus Black, Merlin, Narcissa Malfoy. Regulus and Narcissa are technically light grey because their hands aren't completely clean, but the good they did far outweighed the bad. Good Slytherin do exist, but that behavior hasn't been nurtured in that house.
@@jenx5870 i red the books. All of them and multiplie times. And yes, I totally agree with you: Snape was a bully and Alan Rickman a great actor. But I still believe in the good in people and that some deserve a second chance. I forgave Snape. Doesn’t mean i forgot what terrible things he did and how mean he was to Harry and other students. If you can’t forgive (including oneself) you can’t move forward.
He is in so many of my favorite movies, and I always get the feeling that he took the parts he did because he genuinely liked them and had fun with them rather than just being another acting job. Galaxy quest, for example… I can’t imagine any actor with his notoriety taking a part like that and having to deal with all that prosthetic make up if he wasn’t genuinely having a good time! You just got the feeling that he was somebody who, if you met him in a pub, he’d be happy to buy you a pint and just sit and chat!
I always had a crush on Snape from the first movie. My favorite character out of the whole series. His memories scene is absolutely my favorite and I can't watch it without crying.
While his passing still feels like a punch in the gut, I am truly grateful for his magnificent performance of Severus Snape. The way he portrayed the depth and complexity of this most extraordinary character still leaves me breathless. RIP❤️
My favourite moment of Snape was after he died and Harry saw - through the penseive - the truth of who he really was… I cannot watch this without balling my eyes out 🤗😊
No one will be able to replace Rickman as Severus Snape. It’s quite nostalgic to see this, as I was rewatching the Harry Potter movies. His death scene still makes me 😢
I still can't believe Allan is gone and it was 7 years ago. He was the nicest human being, with a big heart. The way he brought Snape to life was brilliant, in only the way Alan could. His death made a huge hole in the world, at such a young age. RIP Alan. We still miss you.
I loved how he protected Harry even when he was supposed to be the bad guy. The scene at the creek where he used his Patronus charm to guide Harry to the creek.
honestly, Severus Snape is my most favorite character in the Harry Potter Books and seeing Allan Rickman Portraying that role on point. It gives me the chill. It was like he was born to get that role. seems like it was made for him and him alone
I miss him so much 😢. It's going to sound cliché, but I always will. Such a great man, immortalized in amazing films. I truely, madly, deeply love this man!
this video brought tears to my eyes... always loved Alan Rickman... learning what kind of man he really was set him amongst my list of truely great people like Morgan Freeman, Christopher Lloyd, and Patrick Stewart. His passing away was very much a loss to this world.
They offered the part to Tim Roth. He would have been good, in a different way. His hair really would have been greasy. I wonder if he would have used his real accent, or 'talked posh' ? He can if he wants; he did it in Rob Roy.
I'll always remember him as in galaxy quest. I think there was a lot of him in that film. He had a great impact on people and was far too humble to feel good about being put up on a pedestal! Never give up, never surrender.
Alan Rickman is and always will be my favorite Actor I can’t pick one thing what I like or miss about him I think I just will his acting and his very kind Heart 😢❤😢
He carried himself with such grace and poise in the movies In the first one the way he looked at Harry as he was going up to the salting hat was a moment I'll always remember He was thinking to himself there he is Lilly's son and we all know how much he loved her
Such A Pure, Kind and Compassionate Human Being. An extraordinary, talented and caring individual as well as a great icon. Alan Rickman will always be missed in all our hearts. RIP to the Great Man.

My favorite part is when Ron and Harry were desperate for ball dance partners the way Alan Rickman ( oh sorry professor Snape) reacted... that was one of the best for me...
@@angsavegas6671 Yeah that was funny too
The parts I liked best were when he produced Lilly’s doe as his own patronus in front of Dumbledore.

The mold was broken with this man! What a beautiful and rare example of human goodness!😭
“What’s your favorite Snape moment”
Me: Snape saying: Obviously
Omg I remember where this is from. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😐
His first speech in the first film and “Well, well Lupin. Out for a little walk in the moonlight, are we?” in the third film.
Yes
Snape... hits the bois with his book
Obviously..
Every single moment of Alan Rickman’s Snape was sublime! An artistic genius 🙏🏻⭐️😘
Yes, definitely! He portrayed Snape perfectly!🤗🥰😘😍
He was an inspiration to all. He will never be forgotten and will ALWAYS be remembered. R.I.P Alan, we miss you and your movies. You may have left everyone's movies... but not our hearts.(I hate cancer, for it killed Alan, my grandma and my grandad has it.)
💙💖💙
He'll never leave our hearts ♥️♥️
And thankfully, we can visit our frien by rewatching the body of work he left behind. And I loved getting to see the fun side of him on Jimmy Fallon. When he made Jimmy apologize for the Rickman off with Benedict Cumberbatch - while Alan and Jimmy were inhaling helium. Too funny.
@@LilFisch1174 oh yeah... I have watched that video sooo many times ! :D
I miss Alan Rickman . He was such a important person and a great friend to his costars. No one like him will ever be seen again
I miss seeing him in new projects that will never happen. He was a wonderful person.
That’s what I miss the most. I used to look forward to seeing whatever he was going to do next.
He will 'Always' be in our heart.
He just had to speak to win me. What a voice, what an actor! Will miss him for ever.
I always wished he would’ve knocked their heads together, but perhaps that would’ve been a bit much
@@lordvindican4830 I guess so!😄
Your rigth no one can play Snape as he did. NO ONE😭❤
@AtlanTIS It just proves that the character DID have something of a sense of humor buried within. So did a scene from that same movie, which is only used in the televised extended cut: when he's looking through the carriages outside in the snow, to see if students are making out. (4/11/2022)
The day I found out he'd passed, I cried for HOURS! HP series, Sweeney Todd & Dogma....his VOICE! My gods! That man's voice was EVERYTHING. R.I.P. Alan Rickman. You left hella big shoes to fill
what are you going to do ? hit me with that fishhh
What a wonderful man Alan was!! My favorite Alan performance was the sheriff of Nottingham. He managed to throw some humor in his role. RIP sweet, sweet man.
I can imagine Alan staying in character telling Rupert to sign the drawing before taking it just to scare the piss out of him XD
@chase1146 I imagine it going something like THIS:
"A true artist (emphasizes the "t" ; dramatic pause) signs his work. (takes picture and walks back to his desk) I'll be keeping this." (4/11/2022)
I loved him in “Love Actually” too. He is dearly missed!!
Sense And Sensibility.
Die Hard. (my favorite Christmas movie)
Galaxy Quest.
It's so strange how life works, he didn't have kids of his own despite wanting them perhaps... but worked in the biggest children movie franchise worldwide and played a character that was finally loved and respected by kids all around the world.
He will always be rememberd in our hearts. Nobody will ever be able to replace him 🥺
I miss this man! RIP and he in my opinion MADE the entire movie series what it is today… His acting/real life attitude is a INSPIRATION for generations!
I never knew Alan wanted to be a father, i respect him more for respecting what his wife wanted
I adored his character in Sense and Sensibility. What a beautiful voice he had.
He had a big heart and his voice was one of a kind. Bless him!
😢😭😔
🐍🪲🦖🐸🫀
Yes, I love that scene. It’s also my favorite Harry Potter film.
especially when you know what happened when he was in school with Lupin. It carries so much more weight.
And yes, I totally agree with you:
Snape was a bully and Alan Rickman a great actor.
But I still believe in the good in people and that some deserve a second chance.
I forgave Snape.
Doesn’t mean i forgot what terrible things he did and how mean he was to Harry and other students.
If you can’t forgive (including oneself) you can’t move forward.
Its just heartbreaking, Rickman didnt deserve to die. The moment when he said when I’ll be in my 80s sitting in a rocking chair really made me cry
I miss him so much! Alan took the world by storm and is alive in our hearts. Fly high, Alan! RIP 🙏
from the begining I loved professor Snape & potions class! He is undeniably one of the best things to happen to Harry Potter.
And wouldn't that have been fun!?!?
And he probably would have insisted on paying for your pint. He was like that whenever he took friends out to dinner. Such a nice gentleman.
RIP❤️
Yesss!!
For floods of tears, watch Alan in “Truly, Madly, Deeply”. One of my favourite movies ever.
I was and still am so in love with this man, it hurts so bad that it's been five years without him
My favourite moment of Snape was after he died and Harry saw - through the penseive - the truth of who he really was… I cannot watch this without balling my eyes out 🤗😊
" after all this time" "always"
MY HEART IS MELTING 💓💓☺️☺️😭😭😭

No one will be able to replace Rickman as Severus Snape. It’s quite nostalgic to see this, as I was rewatching the Harry Potter movies. His death scene still makes me 😢
"You only realize you miss/need/love someone when their gone"
Yes
No, you only realize how much. I knew I loved, needed my husband. But when he was gone I truly realized how much. Twelve years, still hurts.

Every scene Alan was in is awesome ,he steals it every time. 😁 He's great in all his films.
i can never look at snape the same way ever again after knowing alan has some headphones in the wig
I still can't believe Allan is gone and it was 7 years ago. He was the nicest human being, with a big heart. The way he brought Snape to life was brilliant, in only the way Alan could. His death made a huge hole in the world, at such a young age. RIP Alan. We still miss you.
Rest in peace...dear Mr.Alan Rickman..we all love you and miss you..you are alive in your fan's Heart(❤️)ALWAYS...
I loved how he protected Harry even when he was supposed to be the bad guy. The scene at the creek where he used his Patronus charm to guide Harry to the creek.
He's still missed so much, and always will be. What a remarkable actor. Rest in peace, Alan. ❤️
honestly, Severus Snape is my most favorite character in the Harry Potter Books and seeing Allan Rickman Portraying that role on point. It gives me the chill. It was like he was born to get that role. seems like it was made for him and him alone
It was. Rowling had him in mind when she originally wrote the character.
I miss him so much 😢. It's going to sound cliché, but I always will. Such a great man, immortalized in amazing films. I truely, madly, deeply love this man!
Love that film!
this video brought tears to my eyes... always loved Alan Rickman... learning what kind of man he really was set him amongst my list of truely great people like Morgan Freeman, Christopher Lloyd, and Patrick Stewart. His passing away was very much a loss to this world.
Why did he have to leave us so early. He was such a great person RIP Alan Rickman the bravest man to ever live. We miss you Alan❤️❤️
All of alan’s rolls were sublime, by a sublime actor and human being. RIP Alan 🙏🙏🙏❤️
I couldn't see anyone else playing Professor snape than Alan rickman
They offered the part to Tim Roth. He would have been good, in a different way. His hair really would have been greasy. I wonder if he would have used his real accent, or 'talked posh' ? He can if he wants; he did it in Rob Roy.
I'll always remember him as in galaxy quest. I think there was a lot of him in that film. He had a great impact on people and was far too humble to feel good about being put up on a pedestal!
Never give up, never surrender.
That's in my top 3 favorite movies of all time. He was wonderful. Favorite line: "... To see if there's a pub!"
Wish I could have seen him once in my lifetime 😭.
I was fortunate enough to see him in a play (Seminar) twice and got to meet him and get his autograph. It’s one of my fondest memories.
Alan Rickman is and always will be my favorite Actor I can’t pick one thing what I like or miss about him I think I just will his acting and his very kind Heart 😢❤😢

He carried himself with such grace and poise in the movies
In the first one the way he looked at Harry as he was going up to the salting hat was a moment I'll always remember
He was thinking to himself there he is Lilly's son and we all know how much he loved her
My son’s birthday is on the day he passed away 😭 I will remember always. I watch HP every year and always cry my eyes out at his final scene.
