Alan Rickman was one of a kind. So talented and a voice like velvet, even though he always denied how special his voice has been. My favourite role will always be his character in Snow Cake. Love the movie. But I‘m also a big fan of Truly, Madly, Deeply and his role in Sense and Sensibility. I miss his talent. Met him once in Dublin, back in the day when he played in a Borkman play. He came to the stage door every single night in winter, because he knew there will be fans waiting to see him. He then just stood there and smiled and let people approach him. He was a very kind man and a beautiful actor.

The hardest thing for me was losing my father to cancer in September 2015. After my dad died I watched the entire Harry Potter series front to back. Severus Snape was not only my favorite character from the books but my father's favorite character in the movies. And when I had heard that Alan Rickman died from cancer in 2016, I remember telling my mother that the airport of heaven just got a lot cooler for dad. Then not only does he get David Bowie but he also gets Alan Rickman. And I cried. I still do.

I admired him so much as an actor and I thought his performance in The Death Hallows Part 2 was COMPLETELY overlooked, he was brilliant. SUcKS so bad that he's gong.

I saw him in a movie called Snow Cake, which was co-starring Sigourney Weaver as the female lead. It was one of the best films I have ever seen. It was made in a little-known town called Wawa. It is not for young children, but it sure would make older teens think about some devastating things that can happen and how we learn from those who live extreme challenges. PS Thanks for reporting what Jo told him about his character in that simple word. Always

I saw Alan in Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the tiny theatre off Upper St Martins Lane opposite The Ivy. He played opposite Lindsay Duncan and it was the most powerful, sexual ( non explicit), romantic, intense theatrical experiences of my life. He was utterly mesmerising & you totally believed in his power & his charisma. The theatre was electric, the audience spellbound. It was a wonderful experience, I was privileged to be in the audience. The film with John Malkovic was banal by comparison.
