True story... someone told me when I was a film student that they'd met Alan Rickman and gave him a copy of a short film that I'd made. About a month later I got a handwritten letter in the mail from Mr. Rickman telling me that he enjoyed my film. I was blown away that he did that.

@@TheBigMclargehuge When it's from Alan Rickman? I would say so, yeah. But I understand where your coming from. People hold so many things over there own doings because it's what an actor likes, which I don't agree with. But some of us have actors we look up to, or like! (Alan Rickman in my case) So you get the point lmao.

@@TheBigMclargehuge apparently you must feel that, based on your willingness to write a comment, that your opinion is worth a shit.
My point was not that Mr. Rickman's opinion was particularly relevant... but rather to highlight the gesture he made of writing words of encouragement to someone he'd never met. It was quite altruistic and telling of what kind of person he was. If you want to shit on that, then be my guest.

So I defended him almost religiously to my friends that were absolutely convinced Snape was 100% evil, and I was very pleased to see how the character developed, and even more pleased to see Alan bring it to such life on-screen. But more so, today there have been a few things in my mind, mostly financial.
And I think videos like this or even reminders like this are so important to make us re-realize that every thing is frail really.
And the best we can do really is, cherish the beautiful experiences that surround us and make our life.
Because that's the only thing that you can ever really taste and never, ever get too much of
That's the only thing that leaves a lasting print, on us and on everything around us

In a film about Robin Hood it's a given you're meant to be cheering on Robin Hood as the hero; Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves is the only film about same where I ended up wanting to cheer on the Sheriff of Nottingham but not because of that character being a good person/hero but because Alan Rickman was playing him with some wonderful dark humour in his performance which outshone Kevin Kostner (playing the main character) by miles. RIP Alan Rickman

No matter what he did, it was a thing of beauty. I hope he's in heaven thanking God for his talents bc he had lots of them. I pray that he's at peace. He will be missed.
