"After all this time" you still miss Alan??
Always... 😔
He has an unique voice. When he said: Always...
My heart getting touch😍
...Has been.
Still makes me sad that he is gone.
Always but we raise our wands in respect /*
Alan Rickman as the sheriff of Nottingham seems to be the most accurate physical depiction of Snape’s during his tenure at Hogwarts.
He was born to play Severus Snape. Miss him deeply.
Keya Chakraborty yes but more than that
Keya Chakraborty sure😭😭😭

I see what you did there :-P
One of those actors who are/were more entertaining and interesting as a baddy rather than a goody and before Hollywood ..Just check him out as Obediah Slope..leaves that Potter stuff for DEAD!!😘😁
Alan Rickman's voice is so directly recognizable that you can't miss that a character is portrayed by him
Such a brilliant actor with an amazing voice. In my opinion one of the top five actors in the world! So sad he's gone!
He was wonderful. One of my absolute fave actors of all time.
Absolutely, Alan's talent and his voice are incomparable. It is such a great loss to entire acting community. He was so kind and compassionate with the younger actors that worked with. He is greatly missed. RIP Alan 🙏

"Hans Gruber" and "The Sheriff of Nottingham" have always been my two most favorite characters of Alan Rickman. He brought energy, humor, and empathy to his work, and even as a villain you couldn't help but love him (and almost root for him).
yeah my two fav as well... I saw him on other movies but man, those two?
Sheriff of Nottingham and Elliot Marston.

Alan Rickman was such a good actor. He did Snape very well, like he does in every movie he acted in. I am sill and always be devastated about his passing. Fly high Alan 🕊💔

I was actually at “the wizarding world of Harry Potter” the day after Alan died... there was a somber atmosphere, and you could feel that everyone was lamented, like everyone lost their beloved potions master.
I met Allen at a party some years ago. Charming guy. He had everyone at the party dying laughing at a joke he told about a turtle.
Missing him on 7th anniversary of his death. Please share his turtle joke!
The most Allen Rickman thing ever lol. What a guy.
things that never happened
It is a shame he wasn"t a James Bond villain
Agree. It would've been a great one.
He already was Hans Gruber so I think that would‘ve been too confusing 😅🙈
And never played Holmes!
He was asked to play Alec Trevelyan in Goldeneye but turned it down because he didn't want to be another villain.
Oh, my god, that'd be amazing.
Dead set Rickman deserved an Oscar for his performance as Snape, he not only brought the character to life from the book unlike any other book to movie adaptation but he improved upon it, it's also worth mentioning he has to be one of the most underrated actors of all time. RIP.
LOK Maye Truth.
Oscars rarely go to science fiction movies and/or actors. It's like the last prejudice, even though these movies are among the most popular and highest-grossing. His roles in Die Hard and in Kevin Smith's Dogma are my favorites, by far.
Patch Davis Oscars tend to pay attention to realistic films.
Lol! The Harry Potter movies winning an Oscar? Don’t be daft!
Sadly, fantasy movies (as well as Action and Sciencefiction and such) are not regulars for the Academy. There are several movies that got nominated for some of the big awards, but they still are the exception to the rule. Especially in the last years there have been more and more attempts at getting genre movies some big nominations, i think were getting there honestly, although very slowly
his portrayal of Severus was amazing, in early movies he performed so well that anyone can easily dislike him and in the last movies when his whole story is revealed, he acted that part so well that watching it and seeing the expressions, the heart break, the guilt, the loss everything it was heart breaking. "Always" one word but the way he said it, it was like he explain Severus whole life.
We will never forget Him R.I.P

I know, it was even more depressing how he didn't have the right farewell in the media, mostly because it was a week after bowie's death, so there was a quick notice about it
His performance in Truly, Madly, Deeply will stay with me forever.
He was a great actor in every movie, but his portrayal of Rasputin was genius
Alan Rickman is that rare type of actor who fits in anywhere! Just look at the diverse roles he played!
An actor's actor. I have yet to hear someone say something bad about him
He truly was an incredible and rare type of actor. There isn't one film, play, or t.v. appearance that he's done that I haven't been absolutely amazed by! And he had so much more to give. If only he could've stayed with us longer. :(
I agree. If I was a director and couldn't think of someone to impose a noticeable presence on my film, I'd just call Alan Rickman. Seriously, look at his resume. He's been in everything: action, comedy, sci-fi. The movies lost a great actor.
Accurate.

I first fell in love with Alan Rickman when I saw him in Robinhood! I couldn't stop gazing at him. What a talented beautiful man. ❣💔
He was so natural in his role of Snape. I thought he was so pitiful in the final film when he told of his love for Harry Potter's mother.
Now there's a truly versatile and brilliant actor. Shame he was never awarded an Oscar. Wonderful talent and sorely missed. RIP.
True but he did get a Golden Globe and an Emmy. He also one a people's choice award which that would be better than a bunch of stiffs voting on it.
@@rayahnsingleton3215 Damn right :)

I don’t think Oscars is that grand of an award. Mostly it’s political.

Alan Rickman was a British national treasure! He is missed!
1 of my favourite
Quigley Down Under he was Amazing! Couldn't believe that's not on the list
So sad, there will never be another Alan Rickman, missed his unique voice & demeanour
Colonel Brandon is still, by far, my favorite Jane Austen suitor.
Rickman's portrayal of a man slowly realizing that happiness could actually be his...and then the final wedding scene where the usually dour and reserved man is joyfully throwing money to children...makes me cry every time.
I just scrolled down in the comments and colonel Brandon came on the screen LOL
Yep! He was brilliant in that role ❤
I ADORED him as Colonel Brandon. It was the first time I really noticed him, although I had seen & loved Truly, Madly, Deeply.
The only reason I was always positive Snape was a goodie was that I couldn’t bear for Colonel Brandon to be a baddie.
I only saw Die Hard long after.

Alan RIckman was truly one of the greats. Sometimes a well written part and a gifted actor create something brilliant.

Alan Rickman was so funny as The Sheriff of Nottingham. Yes, that role truly made the movie.
Rickman was FANTASTIC as Snape. He gave the Character that sense of empathy. The ending made me cry. ALWAYS!!
He was perfect as Snape. I remember not long after one of the early books was released, I was sitting with some friends and we were discussing "If they make Harry Potter into movies, who should play ..."
I said Rickman for Snape. We all agreed. Only other person I could have seen as Snape was Tim Curry.
The HP series was perfectly cast.

So many amazing performances. Hans Gruber was so reserved and seemed so milquetoast, but he was actually a stone-cold badass. Alexander Dane was so amazingly funny and tragic, but he really had a huge heart. Snape is without question his best.
Not many actors can compare, he stood out like no other. That voice! I think Snape was the perfect role for him and no one else could have even come close. He created something that wasn’t even in the books. Only the most skilled actors can do that!

Would've liked to have seen Rickman's performance in "Bottle Shock" somewhere on this list. Still, it goes to show just how many memorable performances this man gave throughout his storied career. May he rest in peace, and be perpetually remembered for his amazing acting ability forever.

If ever an actor deserved a knighthood it's Alan Rickman. Other actors could be eating the scenery and you'd still watch Rickman.
I'm guessing he did not want the title. His wife was a Labour pol, after all. Don't know if he was keen on monarchy enough. Benedict Cumberbatch on the Tonight Show called him "Lord Rickman of the Alan."

Definitely a Top 5 performance and not even an honorable mention? Makes you wonder if they even watched the movie.
"By the way. You're fired."
@Daniel Hoffeditz If saw who were the other winners, I'm guessing they were stuck with the decision of putting either Die Hard or Quigley Down Under on the list. They chose the one with the shorter title. And they couldn't include one that has Aborigines murdered!

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is one of my all time favorite movies, and frankly, in my opinion, is the best version of Robin Hood, hands down.
Rickman saved that picture. Errol Flynn's The Adventures of Robin Hood is my choice for best Robin Hood movie of all time.
He was doing his best Tim Curry impersonation. Total gold
He totally stole the show on that movie. Kevin Costner couldn't even work up an English accent. Rickman won an award for playing the villain in that one....and he was funny then.
I rewatch that movie just to see him in it.

There's a little known movie called 'The January Man' in which he pays Ed the painter, neighbor of Kevin Kline playing a cop. Awesome movie. Harvey Keitel, Susan Sarandon, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Rod Steiger, it's fun.

His performance in Robin Hood was amazing and Oscar-worthy
What about CLOSET LAND ? I cannot understand why this captivating movie with its profound content and flawless acting of Alan does never appear in any best of lists. Alan Rickman's performance is OUTSTANDING in this film. He displays his range of acting skills that you cannot help but sticking to the screen. As the interogator he changes frm good cop, to bad cop, from sadist to healer, from victim to perpetrator so effortlessly that it gives you goosbumps...this man was truely a master of his profession ! Before his death I only knew as Snape, whom I also found very intriguing. After his death I started to watch other movies searched the internet for infomration and could'nt stop it. Now I am a true admirer of this exceptional actor, man and human beeing. There will be nobody like him anymore
always snape agreed. That should at least be in the top 5. And Snow Cake should have at least gotten honorable mention.
I scoured the comments looking for any mention of Closetland before posting. So glad I found someone else who thinks it should have at least made the list. Did you know that it was one of his least favorite works, and he couldn't understand the little cult following it had? But truly, it is his incredible range of emotion and skill that makes that film shine. He is always missed.
ReneeOfTheFae Where did you read that it was was one of his least favorite roles? I’ve never seen him make any comments about the film. I, personally, think he was brilliant in the part. One of his finest performances.
Thanks for putting this tribute together. RIP Alan!
Would have loved to see a movie with the Grubers. Jeremy Iron's iconic voice was perfect for Hans brother. Another great iconic voice that would fit as their father is Charles Dance.
