Sadly, fantasy movies (as well as Action and Sciencefiction and such) are not regulars for the Academy. There are several movies that got nominated for some of the big awards, but they still are the exception to the rule. Especially in the last years there have been more and more attempts at getting genre movies some big nominations, i think were getting there honestly, although very slowly

Colonel Brandon is still, by far, my favorite Jane Austen suitor.
Rickman's portrayal of a man slowly realizing that happiness could actually be his...and then the final wedding scene where the usually dour and reserved man is joyfully throwing money to children...makes me cry every time.

I could listen to his calm and smooth voice for several hours, and he was really someone who knew how to act effectively without having to make it so overly complex, as well as someone who could make every single line memorable. What about CLOSET LAND ? I cannot understand why this captivating movie with its profound content and flawless acting of Alan does never appear in any best of lists. Alan Rickman's performance is OUTSTANDING in this film. He displays his range of acting skills that you cannot help but sticking to the screen. As the interogator he changes frm good cop, to bad cop, from sadist to healer, from victim to perpetrator so effortlessly that it gives you goosbumps...this man was truely a master of his profession ! Before his death I only knew as Snape, whom I also found very intriguing. After his death I started to watch other movies searched the internet for infomration and could'nt stop it. I had hoped that he would end up on Potters side since he was once in love with his mother. That part ended up truth. Unfortunately, after Dumbledore died, I had Snape's death figured out and was hainging on to the hopes of being wrong. Ironic that everyone thought Dumbledore was on Harry's side when in fact, he was using him. Snape was the one that looked out for Harry in a passive way.

Hay! 😊Anybody here of Quigley Downunder. Great movie. He plays a great villain. Tom Sellik plays the hero. You know Magnum PI.😁
