  • Hello friends.
    Nice to meet you! My name is Hiroto Yamazaki. I'm Japanese.
    🇯🇵Welcome to my channel🇯🇵
    In this DIY project, I made a Japanese style wind chime.
    In hot summer, the cool sound will lower the temperature you feel.
    You can use any material you like, just choose the tone you like!
    Even if you don't have the stand shown in the second half of the video, you can still use it by hanging it up!
    The strips of paper for the wind chimes are made of melted cardboard and finished to look like Japanese paper.
    Air conditioning is great, but so is a good old-fashioned wind chime!

    This absolutely incredible- I've been hyperfixating on windchimes recently and I totally forgot about the Japanese ones! They're so beautiful!!!😍 I didn't know that they also functioned as fans though! You are so talented bro!!! I'm honestly blown away by how much thought and work you put into making such a seemingly-simple object
    You even made your own paper like what??!? Thank you so much for this tutorial

      Hi, Pickled_Ginger, thanks for your comment!
      Glad you enjoyed it!
      I love Japanese wind chimes because there are many more different tones and designs.
      The sound of wind chimes makes me feel cooler.
      I even made the paper myself!
      Thank you😆

    you once asked for questions. ive noticed that japan holds a reverence for the sheath of the katana that other swords dont seem to. I recall you even saying its not a katana without a sheath. would you mind talking more about this?

    • @craftbyhirotoyamazaki
      @craftbyhirotoyamazaki  2 года назад +1

      Hi Hoshioni, thanks for your comment😀
      I see you have a question about sheaths.
      The sheath is called "saya" in Japanese.
      It is made by a specialist, called a sayashi.
      There are two types of Japanese sheaths.
      The shirasaya is for storage at home or elsewhere.
      Koshirae are used when you go out.
      Making different sheaths for different purposes is proof of the importance that Japanese people have placed on their katanas.
      To carry a katana without sheathing it is called nukimi.
      On the battlefield, the sword was held in a drawn position, but for safety reasons, the rule of "carrying the sword on the shoulder and raising the tip of the blade upward" was strictly enforced.
      In addition to protecting herself and those around her from unfortunate accidents, Saya also protects the sword blade, making the relationship between Katana and Saya inseparable.
      The katana and the saya are two in one.
      It's been a long time coming, but I really like this Japanese spirit🇯🇵

    • @Hoshionifumo
      @Hoshionifumo 2 года назад

      @@craftbyhirotoyamazaki I see, more imformitive then I imigined but what was asking specifically is in japan the sheath is almost regarded as a sacred cultural thing. be it the unsheathing moves of kenshin, or things such as inuyashas sheathe which had its own powers to cotain the tensiega. where especially in the west. we dont have much of this reverence. here, only the blades itself might get regarded as such. but in japan its this idea the sheath is just as imporant as the blade it can seem at times.

    • @craftbyhirotoyamazaki
      @craftbyhirotoyamazaki  2 года назад +1

      It is not only the sheaths that are treated as sacred culture, but there is a belief in Japan that gods reside in everything.
      Among them, the sword is a sacred object dedicated to the gods.
      The religion that worships the eight million gods is called Shinto.
      It is written as "the way of God. When written in kanji, it is 神道。
      I love the spirit of Shinto🇯🇵
