- As those of you that follow me on Instagram know, I've been setting up a home gym that I'm using to train for the upcoming season. One of the most important things for me to have is a space where I can throw indoors so that I don't miss any training days due to weather.
So, I wanted to kick off my channel by showing the process it took to build the ultimate indoor shot put circle at my house. I can't wait to start taking some throws out of this ring and getting y'all some training content!
Let me know in the comments what kind of training content you would like to see.

Love to see you making the transition to RUclips Ryan. Great video. Can't wait to see what more you come up with 💪💪
I feel like Crowser is the most knowledgeable shot-putter in history, not just throwing, but lifting, diet, and apparently equipment manufacturing. The true GOAT of GOATs
this might be your most informative video yet...this shows me all these details and you did them like a craftsman , I think you do the same thing with the shot put technique, and thats why you are the WR holder, while others go past them. RESPECT !
Thank you, that means a lot!
@@RyanCrouser23 i threw against your dad and Dean , met you at Stanford couple years ago. you really have taken what they both had, and multiplied it, best we have ever seen Ryan, very glad to see you have a warehouse to throw in and train, neat !!

You should do a video on what are the best shot puts to get and where to find them. I am a high schooler and I am looking to defend my state title but during my first title my shot got disqualified because of dents. So I had to through someone else's shot and beat my PR by 3 feet to win the title! Amazing day! But I need a new shot out for this upcoming outdoor season for high school. Just wondering what the best resource for that would be!

Hey Ryan!!!! I just wanted to ask if you could teach the reverse step!!! Great video!
Yes I need it too 👍🏽🙏
Gym workout,drills,throws video
Can you show us how to do the reverse step?
Love from india
How’s training going? Also I’d like to know how to do the reverse step, would you be willing to teach it? Thanks!! Have a great day.
Can u also make a video on indoor throwing set up like indoor net on which you throw , I mean how can a net handle a 16lb shot ??
I’m putting together my net setup right now, once I get it dialed in I’ll do video
Hopefully your channel is going to blow up and sponsors are gonna come with it, that would be an ideal way to get money because being an athlete in a niche ish sport is not profitable.
Thank you! That is part of the goal, really hoping to pave the way for other post collegiate athletes as well so they can have a way to support themselves while training.

Would you be willing to teach the reverse step?
What warmup throws do you do when you’re at a competition?
Teach the reverse step
Yes I want it too👍🏽🙏
Were all three layers 3/4 inch plywood? That's what it looked like but not sure.
Yeah, all three are 3/4”
@@RyanCrouser23 Cool. Thanks!
What size is your climbing stand? I am working on building a portable shot ring for my son.
Do you know what day you're throwing this summer in Eugene?
How do you set up the backstop?
How is it that the greatest shot putter in history has less than 2k subs?
I just started up, so hopefully more in the future!
隔離中も練習できるってわけか〜
Is there any benefit to painting inside of the ring? I always seem to see them painted but don’t see the point.
It really depends, some painted rings can feel really good, but some are really bad. Lots of variables in wood grain/texture and type of paint (some oil paints feel greasy on rubber throwing shoes) so it’s more consistent with unpainted wood.
@@RyanCrouser23 thanks!
Six sheets of plywood plus a toe board would be very expensive, maybe 1,000 bucks or so?
The older ring looks pretty bulky, seems quite wearing just dragging it to the training places, at least for a normal guy except you haha
Plywood is crazy expensive right now, I was lucky enough to already have the toeboard, but they are expensive as well. I think the lowest you could do this build for would be $550
550 is way easier of a hit than the 3-5k the premade rings are going for.
