- By far my most requested video to this point has been a guide to reversing in the shot put. In this video I go through the ways I picture the reverse, how and why it can be used for far throws, and give a simple drill progression to use in your training.

literally
Agreed
Throws Coach here and always looking for new perspectives and thoughts; especially from the Greatest of All Time. I was never a rotational thrower and sometimes struggle to truly understand the process and how to relate the info to the kids. I have become a student of throws and look forward.to learning more. Would love to hear about set-up, drills for getting around the left, zero support phase, etc. Hungry to learn what you provide.
Best video on this topic that I have ever seen.
Ryan, I was waiting for this video , thanks , I am having trouble with reverse for 1year 🙏🙏
love from india🇮🇳🇮🇳
man you are quite literally my insperation. I got injured and havent competed in two years. this is my first year back since like 8th grade. watching you since you were in college cause of you setting the highschool record. sorry idk how to phrase all of this atm im at school rn lmao
Wonderful information, your sincere approach to these "secrets" of throwing far really shows Ryan .
My college coach redshirted me so I could learn rotational shot, I'm starting to get the hang of parts of it, but he wants me to jump into a reverse. I have never done that before, so your video was really helpful for me to understand the reverse better! I will certainly work to do the best I can manage
Sprint coach here, Learning so much from these! Thanks so much!!!
Instant subscribe. Amazing to have a personalized RUclips channel from the GOAT shot putter.
This is awesome stuff. I have been helping coach my daughters in throwing for the last 6 years using the Arete TCR System and I am really looking forward to seeing your future videos to get a glimpse into what a world class thrower does and what mental and feel queues you have. Thank you for putting these out and best of luck on the season.
I'd love to see you make videos for our of the back, and some drill's to help throwers progress through out of the back.
Thank you for posting about the reverse step!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome video. I used to reverse all the time when I competed in my teens, but I'm going to incorporate more non-reverse reps into my training this season!
hey buddy gr8 to have you here!
I can't help but imagine how incredible a DE Crouser would be given his love of technique. But it's pretty awesome having him rewrite the shot record book. haha
You should do a video on what are the best shot puts to get and where to find them. I am a high schooler and I am looking to defend my state title but during my first title my shot got disqualified because of dents. So I had to through someone else's shot and beat my PR by 3 feet to win the title! Amazing day! But I need a new shot out for this upcoming outdoor season for high school. Just wondering what the best resource for that would be!
Share your experience and your skills is a precious gift.
🙏 God bless you 🙏
Waiting every day for the content, awesome channel!
The video is really helpful ,thank you so much.
Best channel on RUclips
I have needed this information
Notifications are on. Keep it comin
I just love that clippity clop sound throwing shoes make when you walk. Sounds like those baby shoes with the hard leather bottoms LOL
Ryan , how can I fix my jumping throw , it means when I throw I am not on ground contact. How can I fix it. Can you please make a video 🙏🙏 or tell me something how can I fix it.
By the way love your content . Keep it up . Don't worry about subscribers it will grow soon ❤️❤️🙏
First comment! Also what’s up Ryan! You came and threw at Ridgeview before the Olympics and we got to meet. What are some good fundamentals to drill as a novice lifter, also what are odds I can get a signed poster to hang up in my workout space?
Definitely a new RUclips coach I’m watching forever. Ryan what’s to most efficient warm up for practice/ meets you recommend? I’ve had a very hard time figuring out what I should use I’m my warm up routine.
Everyone is different, I would recommend finding one that works for you through trial and error at practice. Your warm up will constantly evolve. My warm up currently is completely different than what I did when I was 18
Babe wake up Ryan posted
Man is a legend🔥🔥🔥
hey I'm a junior in high school who started rotating this year and am having some struggles coming out the back (I lead with my left knee instead of my left arm) I was wondering if you could do a Video on that.
Try doing a static start and focus on getting over your left foot and keep your arm in front of you
Great tips thanks
Sir love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Incredibly helpful video, what would u say the main thing you focus on when getting into the reverse.
Hey Ryan I really hope you can get to this comment, I feel like my athleticism and weight room numbers don't translate to my throwing distances. I am 6'6 340lbs and I have a 30 inch standing vertical, I move weight really well but I feel like I really lack rotational speed and power. Can you make a video of you showing workouts to encourage my body to move more efficiently throughout my throws? I am familiar with your "American Twists", bar twists etc. I would appreciate it! I am throwing the Discus 50 meters right now and I need to hit a 53 meter throw to make D2 Nationals. My shotput PR is 15.43 meters. I have never been a shot putter but I am having a hard time because I will hit 17-17.5 meters in practice and comepltley foot foul in comps.Thank you for your videos and I will keep grinding and see what I can do! I appreciate your supplement video! It helped me get my numbers up !
Absolute beauty your every movement, Ryan love to see u in circle always...pls visit india someday
this account is amazing
Thank You!
How lucky are we to be able to watch the GOAT in his prime
What brand tape do you use?
Whatever I can find, there’s been a big tape shortage this year. Most any athletic tape works
We are blessed by the Shotput God.
Will you make a video on wrist Wraps
I have a problem of picking up the right foot and reversing but not actually pushing off of the back leg hard do you know how I could work on that
Thanku sir i am from India
I'm a fan of shot put from Malaysia .. hoping Ryan can break his own world record (23.37 m) .. about 23.5 m ..
is this also same for discus throw
Same thought process, but I wouldn't recommend the step over for discus because it is more rotational than the shot finish. work on the non reverse and then transition straight to the reverse
bout to head into the 2023 season anny pointers ??
Pls show your workout
I don’t know why but I want to see him throw a 8lb middle school shot and see how far it goes
Where the fishing videos at?????
Coming soon!!
first comment
Man I thought I was the first comment, congrats tho.
For the record, I voted for ice fishing... but this is pretty darn good too. 😁
What are you using to catch and stop the shot when you throw it. I don't have a pit near me so I wanted to throw at home without the chance of losing the shot or breaking the fence.
I'm a Highland Games Athlete and a huge fan, are we ever gonna see you come smash some records in Scottish athletics?
I would like to throw some of the stones!
Thanks you sir
🤜🤛👍
thangk you crowdser🤤
Can you do a video on how to do the rotational spin in shot?
Since you did lift session, could you make full throw session video?
I will, I'm planning on doing live stream of some throwing sessions in the future
@@RyanCrouser23 yooo gonna be epic, good luck at the indoor champs!!!
Some very good information. I have a kid that's following me on Instagram who is working on his finish and I suggest that he come over and check out this video. He's really good about responding to my posts and my comments so I'm sure he will. Thanks
