We spent a wonderful 17 nights there, getting to know this amazing part of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
It is a bohemian area, with art dotted around the streets and its own Constitution and flag, just across the river from Vilnius Old Town.
We would definitely recommend visiting if you go to Vilnius!

We had such an incredible time in Vilnius that we ended up staying 17 nights... a big part of that was because we were based in Uzupis, the wonderfully bohemian self-declared republic on the other side of the Vilnia River!

Argus, Utenos, Tauras are kind of bottom shelf beers in Lithuania... Hope you had some real beers at Špunka.

1 very important tip. Whenever wherever you try beer - try it from the glass bottles. (Cans and plastic bottles have different taste to it). Cheers
That's good advice - thank you. Lee prefers it on tap but glass bottles are definitely the best option for drinking at home.

Utenos Auksinis transl. Utenos Golden, was first canned beer (since 2000-ish) as I remember. I used to take it with me to journeys, simply because can weight less than glass. Even if it was more expensive.
That is so interesting! Thank you very much for taking the time to share your local knowledge and experience. It's a similar situation to a beer that Led used to drink in Australia. It wasn't that great a beer but was the only local one in a can, so he and his friends would take it when they went prospecting in the gold fields... unfortunately never finding any gold 😀😁 ~ Mandy
