This is PERFECT rice!! I did what she suggested. I don’t want a “bite” to my rice. I added the extra qtr cup water and cooked for 5 mins. Same pressure release. PERFECT rice.. Thank you so much for sharing your perfect IP rice recipe 😋 You have been my go to for necessary IP utensils, delicious yogurt, yummy lava cake, creamy Mac n cheese and now RICE!!
So happy!! I just cooked this, (2) 1 and 1\4 cups of water and 2 cups of rice unrinsed Mahatma extra long grain rice 3 minutes and full natural pressure and it came out perfect! I was making meal prep for 2 people 8 meal packs and realized 2 cups is too little of rice for all 8 meal packs so will triple or quadruple next time. I was so scared but for no reason. Victory - I followed her instructions to make Mexican rice!!!!!! Sauté the rice with avocado oil till golden. Turn off the IP. Then add 1.125 one cup of water or chicken broth add .250 of tomato sauce plus 2 tbsp of water. Add salt, onion powder, garlic powder to taste. Don’t ask me how much, as a Mexican you want to make sure you taste your flavors of spices plus salt to taste. No need to add extra oil as you just sauté with oil. I added a bit of cayenne pepper, because that’s just how I like my kick and a pinch of smoked paprika. No need to add this, only if you want to go to the wild side. Then mix all together in the IP. Plug your IP set to rice 12 min. Let depressurize min for 10 min or more. Set to vent and release all steam. Wala- Authentic Mexican rice. I appreciate her ratios though and added the extra tbsp because she said that when you have oil, it can be not done. Their you go Mexican family approved. My son loved it. So did I and that says a lot for a Mexican that only cares to cook Mexican food at home because the recipes are authentic at home. This actually came out better than my regular in a pot. Enjoy and God bless you all who try it. Reminder I have a IP Duo Plus and did not know how to set for 3 min, so I pressed rice (12) min and it worked. Praise the Lord🙏🏻

Was trying to decide if I was going to get rid of my nice rice cooker now that I have the IP so I searched for a video for cooking rice in it. It's in there cooking right now, so time will tell
I'm still keeping my rice cooker. I've had it for years, and it works well for me. Plus, mine is a lot smaller than my IP, so if I just want rice for supper, it doesn't take up as much counter space.
I experimented. To add flavor, I used a pack of taco seasoning with this recipe.. (1 Cup of rice, 1 1/4 cup of water, 3 Minute HP, 10 Minute release) I liked the flavor but the rice was undercooked with no visible water in the pot when I opened it. More water? More Time? More water and time? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was skeptical about getting this but I use it now every day
Rice pudding is my favorite!!! I’m making rice to go with some gumbo today so I will have to try that soon!
Your man clearly doesn't know what he's doing in bed
I’m laughing inside thinking of what Uncle Roger’s face looks like when she says you don’t have to rinse the rice. 🤣🤣 Love your recipes, thanks so much.
Hiya! Emotional damage....
Uncle Roger is a caricature.
😂😂😂
Perfect every time thanks lady!
Tried this with chicken stock instead of water. Gave a nice flavour.
Like it. Simple, straightforward instructions.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! Just tried it and my rice doesn’t stick to the bottom anymore!! 🙌🏼
Tried my Instant Pot for the first time. The rice came out great. Thanks!
Just did this! It was perfect! 🙏🏾
I use this video so many times. Thanks so much.
Thank you for this! I'm an IP newbie, so I always have to look for recipes.
I made this to go along with beef stew. It came out excellent!
Same
I find If I wash my rice this works great but if I soak my rice for 30mins then i use a 1/1 ratio.
Great video!
This rice is AWSOME!!!!!!❤
Just made your rice. Worked perfectly. Thanks.
Thank you so much. I could finally succeed on cooking my rice. I am so glad that it was delicious.
Im so glad i checked here first. I thought i was going to have to buy a special insert to make rice. So happy i dont have to. Thank u!
Great video thanks. How much longer(time) per cup of rice? Say 4 cups?
Amazing, detailed and precise video. I love it. Great job. I'm going to try it. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Came out perfect, thank you so much!
Hi my name is AL I live in Kenai Alaska thanks for making this video I just got an instant pot at a store and no instructions on how to use it in the box and I have to make rice
Perfect rice everytime! We use a cheaper grade rice here in Panama and it still comes out fantastically as long a I rinse it until clear. Thank you so much! We make a huge pot for lunches throughout the week and for outreach events
If I rinse Basmati rice twice, can I use this same Rice recipe? Thanks for sharing and God Bless you 🙏👍
I never knew you could hold the lid in the handle like that!!
I did not either until I saw this video THEN I saw that they tell you that it is designed to do that in the QuickStart guide. Never saw it before this.
I used to do it all the time and then handle broke and the i returned it and got a new one. Thought it might have been a defect on my first one and then did it again on the new one. And guess what that one broke too.😭 I looked it up online and saw it happened to other people too.
Hahah me too I’m so glad I wasn’t alone in not knowing that!
I just tried it! 😂😂😂 I didn't know either
Every model doesn't have that feature
I followed your recipe and the rice came out perfect! Thank you so much! 🙏
