    PS the young scottish man was played by Fulton Mackay, who 20 years later played the prison warder in Porridge.

    Outstanding!
    I took a little while for some preliminaries to get laid out, but then things moved along at quite a clip, and without letting up.
    And lots of little twists along the way. It kept me engaging, guessing, and entertained.

    I can't quite figure out why they chose to have Greta Gynt play herself in a fictional situation. She could just as easily have used a fake character name. Maybe she agreed to do it as a public relations ploy to improve the public's impression of her (not that it needed improving). She was from all accounts a charming lady even if some of her previous films had her playing evil Femme Fatales. Could she have been recuperating from a minor injury? Was she about to go on vacation and filmed all the scenes involving her with the rest of the cast before leaving? Was there some kind of obscure clause in her contract that made this a requirement? This is almost as mysterious as the plot of the film.

Steinbeck introduced FULL HOUSE, based on short stories of....O Henry. One sequence of THAT remade with Ignatowski//Fester/Doc Time Traveler....Chris LLoyd. Comedy kidnapping.

      It's funny, I was thinking about how much I miss the smell of tobacco from when I was a kid.
      What I found offensive back then (& still do) is the pungent perfume that entered the room 2 full steps ahead of the wearer, as favored by some of my female relatives back in the day.
      Funny how we remember different things about the same type of thing. It's almost like everybody is different! 😉

    • @islandgal500
      @islandgal500 2 года назад +1

      @@viennapalace I was guilty of wearing perfumes when I was younger, but at least they were the expensive ones. I do remember getting used to the smell later in the day and adding more to myself because I couldn't smell it anymore, so must have really had on too much.
      We don't wear any scents in our small town because we have a few people who are so sensitive to it. There are signs in businesses here asking people not to wear them. The worst I do now is use scented soaps and only when I am not going to be around anyone.
      Cigarette smoke was awful for me when pregnant since it made me want to vomit. I also couldn't handle lemon-scented dishwashing liquid and still have not used any for the last 40 years because of those memories.
