1 hour 12 mins of a pure gem , excellent idea , direction and script . Derren Nesbit leader of the gang was number 2 in The Prisoner and SS officer in ' Where Eagles dare '.

My Mum and I met Darren Nesbitt in late 60's when he opened the summer fete at St.Peter's hospital, Chertsey, Surrey. Great film the ending was a shock though.

Oh man! The look on their faces! British acting is the best! They are chosen not on their looks but on their acting abilities. They are fantastic!
@@miniadventureswithmark3309 Disappointing ?? It would be predictable if she had lived , that's what makes it so good. They may have gone down for murder if it was real life despite showing mercy on them.

Superb film
Great film with a catch at the end - no CGI, over the top violence, nudity or swearing.... The first film I have seen Darren Nesbit in without a German accent... "Where Eagles Dare" and i think " the one that got away"
Ann Lynn was such an underrated actress. if you get the chance, watch the B-films Life in Danger and Man on the Back Seat; again both with Derren Nesbitt and equally inventive and taut
I don't think she was. She was brilliant and much appreciated. Have never seen her in a 'bad' movie.

Yes, no opening credits. Over two minutes missing from the start of the film. Strange!
@@ianlowden6168 agreed it's nice to see the details of the cast, or the year when released or those types of things. investing over an hour in watching film, and then have to research after that "who" and "when". i'm ok with that. but life would be so much more easy and experience enjoyable if the year was in the title and the begin/end credits were shown. :(

Excellent little film that.
I recall as a young kid watching this movie on TV. My memory of it has since remained very vague except for the ending which for some reason had a profound effect on me.
I'm now 63 and throughout my life I couldn't remember the name of it or any of the actors in it. If it's ever been shown again since, I've certainly never come across it, until now.
As soon as I saw the thumbnail picture on RUclips, I instantly recognised it as that film I saw all those years ago.

strange vault, luckily they forgot the lights on! It reminds me of an electric refrigerator, but even in refrigerators the light goes out if you close the door

Funny how the thieves drew the line on killing.They knew it was the gallows for sure.In England even the criminals were gentlemen.I don't know if it applies now.
