On a Drive with Rusty’s Rangers. Beautiful part of New Mexico and Good buddy Rusty is showing us the view.....Now we set back and watch the view. Later Rusty is going to do a MOON WALK.....Thanks 👍👍👍👍
'Hell, let's do this,' is right! Light that candle, get that White House in the sky. Watch out for Sluggo, Mr. Bill. Note: the wife and I did go off the edge while pulling an RV. We rolled forever. 35 years-ago. Numerous injuries, but survived. Scars today. Life goes on, Captain. Set sail, let X rocket fly.
Always enjoy your road trips. Wish you had included the return journey down the mountain as well. You don’t even have to talk much and it is still a refreshing experience. Very relaxing and beautiful. Will be watching this a few more times.
Brings back a great memory - crossing the US from California back to miami 1981 - I had to stop in Ruidosa to pick up a lady that I had dropped off there on the way to California to visit her friends - I drove over the mountians at night in my 1980 Z-28 camaro - I was riding above the clouds on a full moonlight night - it was the most incredible ride looking down at the clouds on the side of the road - there was no one else on the road and it was the most peaceful ride I think I had ever taken. Its like you never want to leave and just keep driving.
Beautiful drive. I tried it one time but we turned around long before you did. The snow started getting heavier. Thank you for showing me what we missed. 👍
I was born in Ruidoso NM. That road is really fun in the winter time snow packed, a little scary lol. I would go skiing every week in the winter. In the winter time they have the road closed going up after 4 p.m. or 4:30 so they can have both lanes open for people coming down the mountain, that's when you really see the crazy drivers. There are hardly any guardrails. When I see the road crew in other parts of New Mexico putting guard rails on barely even a little dip, I laugh and say why don't they go up to the ski run and put them up there, so they will be of good use. You know what I'm talking about! Haha. Have fun on your road trip:)
Rusty you definitely are a Texan who is use to the plains. If you were born and raised in the mountains what you just shared is a casual Sunday drive. Beautiful! Now that you have a second base of operation closer to greater geographic relief I hope you explore like this more. God Bless!
Hi Mr. Rusty, This is one of my favorite videos that you have done. I love all of your videos. Thank you for sharing with us. It’s been a while since I’ve seen mountains. You made my day. Goldie in Jacksonville, Florida
You look like you got to the top of world. Beautiful drive. I got nervous on the curves. I felt like we were going to fall off. LOL Have a wonderful weekend.
OMG. This is my favorite mountain drive videos. Love the view. It would be fun to see the descent. Hauling down that mountain, with you white knuckling the steering wheel. Us sitting in the phone camera, staring out that windshield to the view... hollerin' "Wheeeeeeeeeeee!" Just joking. Thanks for the endless beauty, Amigo.
Rusty, I'm nervous 😟 just watching you climb this mountain. Reminds me of my trip through the Blue Ridge Mountains. I was 20 at the time and thought it was beautiful but was as nervous as a cat in a room full of rockers. I'm 70 now and couldn't do it again. Enjoy.
The only time I went up Ski Apache was in 2001. It was raining like crazy. Definitely the most intense drive I ever took. I read elevation is over 11000 ft.
You should’ve went further to Ski Apache and rode the gondola up to the top top. Those are breathtaking views! You could see Alamogordo, Tularosa, white sands moment. 👍🏼 Then rode the zip line down. It’s the longest zip line in the world.😁 My tribe owns the ski resort. MESCALERO APACHE!!!! 👊🏼
I've been there it's really nice sometimes I go there just for a ride. The Christmas lights are nice to see I drove all around there looking at the lights and cabins and deer on the streets and some of the lakes it was really fun . it's around 100 miles where I live not to far .
Wow, they have had a fierce forest fire up there. That drive used to be through a very thick forest all the way to Ski Apache... Looks like 80-90% of the trees are gone.
I lived there all my life, it took your video for me to experience this and it'll be the only time I see Sierra Blanca from that view! I shall call you `Braveheart` ♡
You definitely got some of the greatest videos out there online love all of them they're just out of this world would love to be doing some of that traveling with your St you seem like so much fun
Hi...the majesty of the mountains!!! It appears @ sometime in the past, there must have been a forest fire due to the leftover bare trees...going down, hope the brakes hold out ...lol...looks like you could touch the clouds...wonder if the road was an old horse trail? & then, paved...love it " idiot" blessings
Im just amazed at the beautiful views, and no telephone poles or cell towers!
New Mexico is an intriguing and beautiful state. Been there many times since I was a child and never tire of it.❤️
Beautiful drive, thanks Sir for bringing us along 👍
The higher the mountain, the closer to God. Beautiful scenery!! Enjoy!❤️🐾💙

Rusty, you look like you could reach out with your hand and touch the cloud. So beautiful!

Your on the highway to heaven! Beautiful! Be careful!!.
Wow! That was so cool! My toes tingled a couple of times when you'd go around a corner and it looked like there'd be no road left!
In the 1950s my parents used to make that drive in the middle of winter, to ski. It is wonderful to see this!
Wow, what a beautiful drive! You should take the class B to that over look and have a picnic or even spend the night. Thanks for sharing Rusty!

A Paved road is a plus. I remember taking the road up to the Summit of Pikes Peak. It was Phenomenal.

This has been my favorite video so far. Thanks, Rusty!
Very nice thank you for sharing
My mother lived in this area in the 1930's. Interesting to see the towns and pines she talked so much about.

I've been through Ruidoso many times, growing up in Roswell , N. Mexico, truly a beautiful place to visit!

I think you're fearless. I'd be driving slow as heck from fear of that fall-off edge. It is gorgeous. What a view! Thanks for sharing this again.
I really enjoy your videos. I am taking care of my elderly mother at the moment but hope to have this kind of freedom someday in the future.
Amazing views from up there, it's like being in a small airplane. It reminds of the time I drove up Pikes Peak. Thanks for sharing!

That switch back road gets really exciting during the snow season:)
Everybody there is from Texas and they all drive Ram trucks, amazing.
From windy point you see the capitans from there that holds neat history trivia. Great inspiration point though, easy on the breaks
I was there a few weeks ago Rusty, just beautiful country

I was wondering about that. I remember years ago hearing about forest fires in NM. It takes years to recover.
Rusty, Welcome to the “Land of Enchantment”...."
The windblown (but dead) trees at that scenic overlook were quite nice.
Cool beans👍👍👍👍 Neat overlook!!!!👍👍 Trees got hit by lightning? Small fire.🤔🤔

Go to the ski area! You're almost there! That is just the lookout!!

You should try this road with ice and snow! Just to ski!!!
You are at the lower end of the Rocky Mountains. The Rockies end at Guadalupe/El Capitan Peaks in Texas
interesting
Beautiful countryside looked like you could reach out and grab a piece of the cloud!
Loven the drive
I am from Ruidoso.
hi
I'm jealous 😵😭👍, lol!
Look at the damage from the past 🔥 🔥
The Oak Grove sign was amusing. A Mr. Oak must have owned the Grove at some point. :)
It's just a name.
Yep I sure not want be that road builder... just wondering how long ago it was built...
It's a nice ski run I've skied it a bunch.
Now coming down that icy road there's crashes on almost every curve.
wow... thanks for the ride
My fear of heights is intense. This drive would have me white knuckled. Beautiful views, though!
Now boondocking in them there hills would yield a mighty fine view. Just got to keep an eye out for Bigfoot.
