Reminds me of driving in Colorado. The only thing missing were the bicyclists you g up or flying down the mountain. Everyone should drive Trail Ridge Rd across Rocky Mountain National Park at least once it they can. Enjoy and Be safe.
That's one of my favorite driving videos you've ever done. I remember enjoying your drive partway up in your truck last year. Looking forward to Part 2 to see what it's like at the top. I always enjoy great views like that!
Thank you for recording this. I’m going camping out that way soon and I was curious about that road and now I know definitely not to go that way! I hate roads like that. I would just be sick. I love to see mountains but I don’t like to be on them!
I plan on staying in Cloudcroft in July. Due to covid, I didn't go last summer. That particular area is in a severe drought. I can only hope for a normal monsoon this summer.
I owned a 2013 Chevy Spark and I absolutely Loved it. It did great in Ohio Ice and snow, which was quite significant. They have more power than you think! Enjoy!
You spoke of no guard rails on side of highway. I once visited Yosemite Valley. The road into the valley would break a snakes back if he tried to lay down on it. As we proceeded into the valley we kept seeing tow trucks on the side of the road with their cables out. When I asked I was told every time you see a truck someone was off the road. The bank was so steep and overgrown I never once saw the disabled car. Now that was scary just the cable and hock played out to pull it ack up.
Rust , bet the ole Goat didnt want to look over the edge either. Better be glad you didnt have a companion telling you to look at the pretty scenery as you would be sailing over the edge with sparky in tow as well... haha
That Mountain scares me.. I was thinking in winter there is no way in hell I would attempt that climb.. lol Guess i would just die before trying to make it.. :))
Rusty, I drove to Ski Apache in a 1971 VW Bus and I love hiking in mountains. You should do fine and it is more than worth it because not many people will even try.
Hi Rusty. Oregon has a lot of those roads. When you live out here you are use to them. My sister from Michigan came out to visit. She told me the roads scared her.
That was not the road we drove to ski apache on. There must be 2 roads. The one we were on was HORRIFYING and Not paved. Was switchbacks all the way. Is there 2 roads? Boy we missed the right one.
Park camping, where tourists feed the wildlife while sleeping, or campfiring, or hiking? I hear you, Amigo. I love nature! But I like a little buffer between me and the food chain. If you can be eaten, you're not at the top of the food chain, at your location. Bears. Cougars. Killer bees. Ants. Free-range naturalized humans... the unknown.
7:18 - in the "me" world, only my need or want have any value....because consideration for another is considered foolish, because they aren't considering YOU. And the attack of the Karens continues My solution is called "mind my own business"....I'm not so much worried about anyone else, but i'm also not going to incovienece them if possible. Technically it's called "just leave me alone"

Riding a bicycle up Trail Ridge Rd. is the best way to experience this little slice of heaven.
Its a very pretty drive up there. We go skiing up at Apache.
Awesome video Rusty. Thank you.
Hahaha 🤣 I’m with you Why did I do this? I’ve asked myself this on so many mountain roads. It’s beautiful! Thanks for the drive 😊
Hey Rusty! You passed a deer on the right side up on the hill at 6:56. Enjoying the drive.
Beautiful scenery and drive again Rusty.
Thanks. About the very best drive you've taken us on lately. Good road.
Another amazing and scenic driving video. I don't think the GOAT would have even gone that high in the mountains.
Thanks for the mountain ride along! I saw a large Deer at 6:56 on the video. I thought it was a huge goat 🐐 at first! Lol 👍
Just drove up the mountain yesterday. What an adventure. Had my wife, 12 year old son and 9 year old daughter with me. Thanks for sharing this video.

I am seating here watching you drive and I swear I am driving scared 😱 of running off the road. Beautiful view..

Went to the bathroom, returned to see a 5 minute ad ending. So the next beer is on my ad revenue, hahaha.
And I have the minimum of ads...
Wow Rusty. Seasick!! Beautiful but too twisty for me. Lol
Rusty will be coming 'round the mountain when he comes (yee-haw) He'll be driving 98 white horses when he comes👍
He'll be driving a 98 horse power sparky when he comes! 🐎
Nice drive. Better you than me. Love mountains but get headaches 9,000 feet plus.
Rust , bet the ole Goat didnt want to look over the edge either. Better be glad you didnt have a companion telling you to look at the pretty scenery as you would be sailing over the edge with sparky in tow as well... haha
Cool
Nice ride Rusty. I wonder if Trikeman would like the ride back down.
That Mountain scares me.. I was thinking in winter there is no way in hell I would attempt that climb.. lol Guess i would just die before trying to make it.. :))

You crack me up Rusty! Come to West Virginia some summer and let me show you some mountain roads! Keep up the good work Rusty78609!
I rather drive that than my drive today in pouring rain from Henderson Tx to Richardson State Park Tx … towing the Jayco… rough lol
Thank you
We’ve got another fire at the turn off to Ski. Prayers folks prayers!
Heard there was a fire on that road yesterday. I'm supposed to go in mid July. Hope it's not all burned up.
That was not the road we drove to ski apache on. There must be 2 roads. The one we were on was HORRIFYING and Not paved. Was switchbacks all the way.
Is there 2 roads? Boy we missed the right one.
Maybe you are thinking of Monjeau Lookout (fire watch tower)
hi rusty, still catching up. Little health scare, little time in a hospital. I'm getting there.
Cool video talk rusty lol
Hahahahaha!!!! Have fun!!!! 😊
