Howdy Rusty good morning. For me it's Wednesday morning watching your video. Thank 😊you for sharing your adventure driving up to the mountains. Boy, it sure is beautiful love it. 😍 enjoy sunny Wednesday 🌞 !!!
Hey Rusty, Have you ever had dinner at The Lodge Cloudcroft Inn by the golf course ? Great food but expensive. From the dining room you can see White Sands. Learned to ski up there when I was eight years if age. Brings back memories.

Hi Rusty. I am just the opposite of you. I love the forests. Of course my working career was working in the forests. I due like the “High Desert “ in Oregon as well.
I've visited relatives in Alamogordo, NM twice in my lifetime. And we drove up to Cloudcroft and Riudoso. I don't remember a tunnel but it has been a long time. That's a nice drive.
Last year my GPS told me this was the fastest route to Denton TX. Well I got to experience a trip through the mountain & enjoyed every bit of it. I made it to Arista then traveled up to Rowell to get on 380 & headed straight to Denton. I was very exhausted when I got to Denton. I passed out at a Walmart parking lot afterwards.
My kids live in Alamogordo and I have been a few times. My favorite place to visit is Cloudcroft!!! Mad Jack's is my favorite place to eat while there. There was a pizza place there as well but, I do not remember the name but it was fantastic pizza!
Hey Rusty!! Nice drive, hope you had a good ride over and back. Have you ever had Mad Jacks BBQ in Cloudcroft? I hear they have some good BBQ if you can make in before they sell out!!

I was just curious how the way to cloudcroft from Alamogordo looked and in the last minute or so of your video I saw my family and husky walking across the street in the downtown area. What are the chances of that?
Is it wise for seventy-something year old man to be driving windy, mountain roads in a car with a manual transmission, with one hand on the wheel and the other hand holding up a cellphone recording RUclips vidyas? I think not.
I loved that scenic drive! That's even nicer than the road in from the other direction. I hope you had a nice holiday weekend.

When i lived in the area we would have snow days in the winter with no snow in Alamogordo but the teachers were snowed in around Cloudcroft.
You mentioned living in Nacogdoches I am just up the road in Jacksonville. Love the tress but hate pollen season. Safe travels.
Howdy neighbor, from Tyler 🙂

Your road trips improve my gas mileage.
I agree 100%
Rusty does the driving, I do the watching.
Hi Rusty, Just wondering if the mileage gauge still shows 46-47 mpg. as your climbing up those elevation? Thank you Sir!
Park your car as far away as possible in the daytime from the main entrance to any store.
People were parked in that first area because it is a church and you were there on Sunday
😀👍👍
Clowdcroft looks like a Fun / Historic community I would like to explore. Is Cloudcroft famous for anything ? Are there Winter Sports in this area ?
