  • Ahoy, welcome back to Adventure Sena!
    Get ready for a unique and powerful episode of Adventure Sena! This time, we’re heading to the resilient village of Ruidoso, New Mexico. Recently ravaged by wildfires in the summer of 2024, followed by flooding and evacuations, this small town has faced enormous challenges. But this episode isn’t just about nature’s fury-it's about why you should still visit Ruidoso and support the incredible local community that relies on tourism to survive.
    Despite the devastation, local heroes have kept Ruidoso’s heart beating. Restaurants, wineries, bars, and concert halls remain open, welcoming visitors with warmth and hospitality. The ski mountain is still operational, and the area’s natural beauty is as stunning as ever. We dive into the adrenaline-pumping activities at Winter Park, where we conquer the Screaming Eagle mountain gravity coaster and race down the mountain tubing lanes at high speed!
    Our culinary adventure takes us to some of the best restaurants in town, where we savor local flavors and meet the dedicated folks keeping the spirit of Ruidoso alive. To top it all off, we experience a magical night at the iconic Spencer Theater. This renowned venue isn’t just a place to catch a concert-it’s home to mesmerizing Dale Chihuly glass exhibits that add an extra layer of beauty and wonder to the experience.
    Join us in celebrating Ruidoso’s strength and vitality. Whether you’re seeking adventure, culture, or simply want to support a community in need, Ruidoso has something for everyone. Just remember to stay safe and heed weather advisories during your visit!

      I know people are nervous with all the flooding, but almost everything we love is still running in the village! They totally rely on our tourist money to keep things running so I know they’ll be happy to welcome y’all 🍻

    All 3 of my children went to high school at the "Tacoma School of the Arts" in Tacoma and the Dale Chihuly Museum of Glass hosted one of the classes of that high school. I daily saw his art when driving on Highway 7 as there is a bridge across it in downtown Tacoma with his art on over the bridge (it's a pedestrian bridge) with his artwork enclosed in glass while you cross the highway and railroad. I've been in that museum several times. And yes, a lot of businesses and hospitals in the PNW display his artwork as well.

      @adventuresena64  19 дней назад +1

      It’s wild how global his art is- I’ve also seen a huge chandelier teardrop in San Antonio at a hotel on the river walk- the museum in Seattle is very nice! I have a video on that- but I really need to check out that bridge and museums in Tacoma soon, thanks for mentioning those 🏔️🤩

    Ruidoso was way better back in the seventies! When the rivers ran and everyone knew where to build and where not to...

      The main risk through early October is that it is monsoon season. Because of burn scars, certain areas can flood for a few hours at a time, but emergency alerts do a good job of getting you info early! I’d say if you pay attention to weather alerts you can do everything you’d usually do in Ruidoso right now and be safe!
