I love seeing you folks having fun. I appreciate it. You never swear you don't drink alcohol. It's very rarely you can find people like yourself on RUclips. Thanks for being a great example. You guys are the best your friend George.
The American West is such a unique, special place! There really is no other place like it. Guys, we went to Newberry Volcanic Monument yesterday and were blown away by the views and the knowledge! It's still too snowy in the Cascade Range to the west so we've been exploring east and I need to let you in on a little secret: eastern Oregon is *incredible*!! If you get the time, research all 3 units of the "John Day Fossil Beds National Monument". Also, the Wallowa mountains near the little town of Joseph, and Hell's Canyon. Truly mind-blowing, epic landscapes and not a lot of people know about them.
Newberry is so cool! All the volcanic activity there is wild! Eastern Oregon has been on our list for a bit now! We debated going up there this year, but decided against it. We'll save it for our next PNW trip, possibly next year! Yes Hell's Canyon looks awesome! There's another one called Steens Mountain in the southeast that looks incredible also!
I am an L.A. to Northern New Mexico transplant for 17 years now and love the fact that it's underrated. Shhhhhhhh.......don't tell anyone! You drove through my neighborhood to get to Bandalier. I feel so blessed to wake up and go outside every day.
Wow! My girlfriend and I were 100% at Bandelier the same day. Even saw the Sprinter with Texas plates in the visitor center parking lot and joked "what if that's A+K?" and then once this video came out realized we were right! Small world!
I'm so happy that you're back to doing road trips in the US! Our first visit to NM was back in 2003, flying all the way from London UK, where we were living at the time. Since we had to splurge on flights and took a good chunk of our precious holiday time, we've made an *absolutely jam-packed* itinerary to go around NM, UT and AZ in just 3 weeks. Now we are so blessed to be living in the US- so much cheaper and takes only 4.5hrs to reach our favourite places on earth!
We’re glad to be back traveling as a family, but do love exploring other parts of the world as well. That’s awesome you’re in the US and can get around easier! Thanks for watching!
No, it's not boring at all! I loved all the shots of you two lounging, drinking coffee, and working at the beautiful boondocking campsite. Please do a lot more of chilling at beautiful places, and please share it with us :)
I have been subscribed to your channel for a long time and really enjoy your videos. I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to add links of the places you visit in your description. I know it is extra work, but it is very much appreciated. Safe travels and keep having fun!
Hope you'll take time to visit Mesa Verde National Park in southwest Colorado, which is also known for their cliff dwellings. My father grew up in the nearby town of Mancos and my grandfather made the original cement posts for the highway guardrails in the park. After forming them he threw them in the Mancos river so they would cure slower, which ultimately made them much harder. When they were delivered, an inspector tested them by driving his car into one, which left a sizable dent in his bumper.
Hey Gary, we went a couple years ago and loved it. Besides the incident we had with our bumper oddly enough! That’s a cool story, thanks for sharing! ruclips.net/video/o8T-DIzslmI/видео.htmlsi=09J51_lojR7LOrUa
There is SO much in NM, white sands, Carlsbad caverns, balloon fiesta, and so so many historical sites and different landscapes from the desert to the high mountains, highly recommend! Definitely make sure to try some green chili, Navajo tacos, and Frito pie 😊
Pro tip: Hook the moonshade to the van BEFORE you put the poles into it!!!! That way it won’t try to fly away from you. We use one on our basecamp and love it!!
I’ve been to New Mexico over 5 times now and Bandelier National Monument twice. New Mexico really is the land of enchantment. It was fun to relive some of my previous trips by watching this video, thanks :) I’ll be exploring new areas of New Mexico in June while I drive from Kansas to my new home in Phoenix! I can’t wait for it
@@AdventuresofAplusK thank you so much! I would love to see you two explore some more lesser known spots in Arizona to give me some new adventure ideas! Safe travels to you and keep up the amazing videos my friends
Gorgeous views. We've been to New Mexico several times in our travels but have never explored those areas and they were great to see, and put on our 'to do' list.
I absolutely love international videos but something about A+K back in the van riding through Canada & the states feels good. It feels like back to the basics. I love it. I miss New Mexico and now I’m craving green chili stew. Anyone in Michigan able to Make some? 😢
I grew up in northern NM and watching your video brought back fond memories of the Painted Desert - skiing in Santa Fe, Taos and eating the Red and Green. Thanks for the excellent (as usual) video!
I love getting to 4 corners area in the "off season". I try to make sure I'm in an AWD vehicle if possible. Kudos for driving in that van on those pitted roads and in the crazy wind. Thanks for those parks, roads and trails. I wanted so much to get into those locations last year, but time and budget did not allow. Don't forget to take a few minutes along the way for a deep breath to take it in.
Glad you’re back! So fun traveling with you! I was at Bandelier a year ago during a light thunderstorm. I had the place to myself… peak nature moment! I like to say thank you to the Rangers for maintaining the beautiful park and when I did so I burst into tears because of how beautiful it was! They need to see how much we love our national parks and appreciate their stewardship! I would love to go back and spend a month in Santa Fe… What a special place and as well as Ghost Ranch and Los Alamos.
I just want to say that I love watching you guys whether you are having an adventure or just hanging out and cooking dinner in the van. Personally, I like videos that just show real life. I follow "The Hollar Homestead" because they are so real and just show real life. I look forward to your many relaxing videos to come.
So glad you are on the road again… we just drove to the Black Hills and back to Wisconsin ! Lots of fun hikes but so much work, we can appreciate your anxiety and effort… thanks for doing it for us. You really seem enjoy each other, and truly happy! Larry and Shelley
So nice to see you enjoying our old stomping grounds in and around Santa Fe. The natural beauty, vistas, blue skies, and loads of hiking were some of the best reasons we moved there in the first place. We are a bit jealous watching you eat all that delicious green chili though. That is one thing we definitely miss living here in Portugal. Thanks again for a wonderful video.
fell in love with your channel while you guys were doing your van life before so im happy to see that you guys are back in the van! pls keep these amazing van life videos coming
It is so great to see you back in the van again. I am glad you are slowing down and taking time to relax and soak in the beauty around you. New Mexico looks awesome and that food was making me hungry!
Enjoyed this episode. Great to see A+K getting back to the basics, hiking, exploring and van life. Hope you guys get a chance to rejuvenate and do whatever that make you happy
Whoa you can’t really trade those views , the freedom and no people on this trip. Sweet!❤What a fabulous fairy playground to explore! I love you guys🍧💜
So glad to see you guy back on the road again! We went to New Mexico too in 2020 . Albuquerque/SantaFe and Taos . It is such a beautiful state. The landscape is totally out of the world! That shot of the starry night sky was spectacular! I love sunrise and sunset. So excited to see the next leg of your trip. Utah another spectacular State. Safe travels guys.
We’re always so blown away by New Mexico! We’re excited to be traveling as a family again and super excited to share what we got up to in Utah! Thank you!
Glad y'all had a great extended break in Texas and glad y'all are back van adventuring! Great video... while I enjoy all of your channel, these types of exploring, adventuring van videos are my favorite. Great food (the burger looked amazing!), great scenery, great hiking, great boondocking! Some amazing places that we're marking on our to see list!
We're glad we can do a mix of international and domestic throughout the year! It's fun to get to see a lot, but we are happy to be back as a fam! The burger was super good! Thanks, Jamie!
Such a beautiful video…those hoodoos were so cool! All the unique rock formations were incredible! That night sky with the stars was jaw dropping! Loved this! ❤
I always love your videos! That wind at the end...wow. I bet I know what day that was! We were driving from Arizona to New Mexico via I40 on our way to Texas to see the eclipse and it was so incredibly windy that day. The wind was so strong that it almost blew me over just walking through a parking lot! So happy to see you back in the van and can't wait to see what other adventures await.
We loved Santa Fe and Bandelier! We did this trip last month and then into AZ and Utah. We were snowed out in Utah and are now going back in early May (this week) to finish our adventure. Thanks for your videos!
Can’t wait to watch this video, but you guys should definitely go to Bandelier national monument in New Mexico if you haven’t been, it’s pretty awesome
Yay! When I saw you were heading to Santa Fe in the last video, I was hoping you'd stop by Bandalier! I went a couple years ago, and it was such a fun and unique experience! You're absolutely right--New Mexico is totally underrated.
Nice! So beautiful there! We wanted to camp on the river just didn’t feel like driving the bumpy road with the limited time we’d have to stay down there
I love New Mexico. I spent over two months there last year. I was at Bandalier, climbed all the ladders too. Some of them were a little intense! I've been on some of those New Mexico rutted out dirt roads too!😅
If you can ever time things to be in Albuquerque for the balloon fiesta it is amazing to see. I went this past Fall. Actually didn't pay for a ticket to get in close to the balloons but there is plenty of places to watch them around town. It was beyond cool! They're just flying and landing all over the place right by you.
I didn’t pay attention to that national park but did go to mesa national park and they had houses And ladders in the side of the rocks. I know u will have a nice drive from the Utah border to salt lake. I love that drive I’ve done it in all seasons probably 50 times in the past 5 years as a trucker. 50miles from i15 is a waterfall on the left hand side of the road it’s visible from the road like literally 40ft from the road it is on a curve so u got to keep looking left. I’ve got out and went to it probably 4 times seen ppl ice climb it before too in winter. It has a pin on Google maps I just can’t remember the name of it.
Beautiful scenery ... different kind of scenery but beautiful. Thank you for sharing the journey with us. Some day I would love to do that. On my bucket list :)
We enjoy your VanLife videos! We are currently in Nevada headed to Bonneville and then back to Great Basin NP, before heading south to explore the National Parks of Utah! If we cross paths… we will buy the fajitas and Guacamole!
Glad to see y’all traveling in the states again! Love your travel guides and use them on the regular! Just got back from Joshua Tree and went to try the delicious Date Shake at Shields because y’all recommended it. 😊
We LOVED boondocking out there! There was one guy far away the first night, but no one else the second! A stark contrast to our boondocking in Southern Utah shortly after haha
Those hoodoos and vast landscapes! I have remained stationary in Northwest Washington for the last 20+ years, but this brings back memories of being in places in the West where the Earth remains, pretty much, like it was before humans.
Nice to see u back in van…love the stars @ nite & cliff dwellings. I’ve seen others and reminded me of the old old hymn “He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock”. I understand that these dwellings were created for safety as no one could get to them any direction 🇨🇦 ❤
I had a wonderful trip to Santa Fe last June. Because my travel companions and I are older than you guys, we passed Bandolier and instead visited Los Alamos. It was a beautiful town up on a ridge, and although sobering historically (think Oppenheimer) very interesting with some great museums. What a lovely adventure so far! Cheers from beautiful Palm Springs🌴🌵👋🏻
We meant to watch Oppenheimer before we hit the road because we knew we'd be going to that area...just never got around to it. Would love to go back and see more! Thanks for watching!
Food looks fantastic! Eye Watering good!🌶️🌶️🌶️😂. Love me some nature and history, that is the best duo!!! The views!!!!🎉 Happy 5 year birthday Brisket!
So excited that you are coming to Utah… our goal this year is to hit all 5 of the mighty 5.. and so far we’ve hit Zion and Bryce and Capital Reef is next month.. Can’t wait to see your new adventures in Utah!! Have fun!
A&K, something to consider on a smaller scale than Bandalier is Gila Cliff Dwellings NM. Paved road all the way in, an easy hike to the dwellings, and the dwellings are in good shape. Just an hour or so north of Silver City, NM. Great video by the way. Thanks, Steve
Hey Steve! We’re one step ahead of ya 😉 ruclips.net/video/xNB9osFw1YM/видео.htmlsi=VphE2sPOxcK_NgEm We loved Gila and Silver City! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Loved this video. New Mexico definitely has some beauty. I was wanting to suggest to you guys to go to Arizona. So much beauty there also. The White Mountains are so pretty. And Old Tucson is a tourist place. They have acted out western gun fights and so much more. Thanks for taking us on your New Mexico journey.
We love New Mexico and Arizona! We've been to AZ a handful of times and have a few videos from there: ruclips.net/p/PLZKRTK1yCEM4fjn3KAt9kM4wmlYFClSiq Tucson is a ton of fun! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Love Tia Sophias!! Terrific food and service. If you haven't done it yet, you need to visit the Rio Grande Gorge, Chaco Canyon, and Los Alamos. Until next time... Travel safe.
WOW!!! Grammy from Maine says those Cliff Dwellings are the best I’ve seen !! What a Gem 💎 of a Monument!!! New Mexico is beautiful!! Have not visited Bandelier ❤❤❤ 😮😊
I'm from PA, and now that I'm retired, I have a plan to move to the SW for some dispersed camping on BLM land...my preference is the desert 🏜️ I was considering Ojito Wilderness north of Albuquerque...you have caused me to check the regions that you visited (although some areas are off-bounds for camping)...otherwise, outside of NM, Mojave Trails Nat'l Monument (in CA) has been another location... Like yourself, I look at the wide open, flat vistas and just melt into it... the serenity, the quietude (I love silence), the majesty, the sunsets...relaxing in it all... Thank you for the vicarious experience... Blessings to both of you🙂

Certainly true. But off-camera... does all-Hell break loose? When the *real* Kona shows her fangs? No, we don't want to know!!
Thank you George!
haha Kona does get a great edit sometimes! 😂 and yes, all hell breaks loose at times!
The time lapse photo of the van with stars in the background was epic!!

Nice! So beautiful there! We wanted to camp on the river just didn’t feel like driving the bumpy road with the limited time we’d have to stay down there
Neat video! Bless your week. ❤
The adventure continues! The food looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy
Woohoo! Thank you!
I love New Mexico. I spent over two months there last year. I was at Bandalier, climbed all the ladders too. Some of them were a little intense! I've been on some of those New Mexico rutted out dirt roads too!😅
We were surprised they just let anyone climb them! With no rangers anywhere to be seen! It’s so underrated in NM!
That drive was spectacular! It’s hide to put the camera down out here!
New Mexico-LAND OF ENCHANTMENT. Thanks for taking me back there. I really enjoyed it and the nighttime star scene was epic. 👍👍5🏍🙋♂️
We love New Mexico! Definitely earns its nickname! We were pretty proud of ourselves on that star timelapse 😂
Beautiful scenery ... different kind of scenery but beautiful. Thank you for sharing the journey with us. Some day I would love to do that. On my bucket list :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Great Video guys food looked amazing stay safe out there
We enjoy your VanLife videos! We are currently in Nevada headed to Bonneville and then back to Great Basin NP, before heading south to explore the National Parks of Utah!
If we cross paths… we will buy the fajitas and Guacamole!
Sounds like a deal! Y’all have fun!
Glad to see y’all traveling in the states again! Love your travel guides and use them on the regular! Just got back from Joshua Tree and went to try the delicious Date Shake at Shields because y’all recommended it. 😊
Those shakes are heavenly!
Wow the views and scenery awesome. Sometimes on an adventure the put your butt in a chair and just look around can be the best. Nice video guys.
Thanks and thanks for watching!
This is an awesome post! I was unaware of the boondocking possibilities near Abiquiu.
It’s so stunning out here. The earth continues to blow us away! We do miss the scenery of the PNW though!
We’re excited to be traveling as a family again! Cliff dwellings are always to fun to experience ❤️
When is your cookbook coming out?? Your food always looks so fresh and healthy!
Haha if you only saw the boring repetitious meals we eat off camera 😂
I did the Valley of Dreams and Bisti Badlands hikes last summer and had the whole place to myself, saw a bunch of wild horses
The wild horses are so pretty! Such cool spot
We’re glad to see you back in the USA.
We love getting to mix international travel with domestic and we’re glad to be back traveling as a family. Thanks for watching!
It is a wonderful duo! Thank you! ❤️
I love you both 🤍🤍Thanks for sharing another great adventure. Love and respect from Rochester NY 🇺🇸🗽
Thanks and thanks for watching!
I was in NM couple of months ago and I love it.
So excited that you are coming to Utah… our goal this year is to hit all 5 of the mighty 5.. and so far we’ve hit Zion and Bryce and Capital Reef is next month.. Can’t wait to see your new adventures in Utah!! Have fun!
The mighty 5 are certainly mighty! We’re excited to share what we’ve been up to!
Worth watching for the green chili alone !
Hey Steve! We’re one step ahead of ya 😉

We loved Gila and Silver City!
We've been to AZ a handful of times and have a few videos from there: ruclips.net/p/PLZKRTK1yCEM4fjn3KAt9kM4wmlYFClSiq
Tucson is a ton of fun! Thanks and thanks for watching!
We hope to see you on the road!
If you see us say hi!
Love Tia Sophias!! Terrific food and service. If you haven't done it yet, you need to visit the Rio Grande Gorge, Chaco Canyon, and Los Alamos. Until next time... Travel safe.
It was super good! Yes those all on our list for a future trip! Thanks!
Awesome video! Bandelier National Monument is one of our most valued and favorite partner parks! We hope you got a chance to check out the park store!
Oh yeah ... I fiorgot .. I hear the San Juan River is a pretty good place to drop a hook!!!😁
Wahoo! We'll definitely be back one day!
WOW!!! Grammy from Maine says those Cliff Dwellings are the best I’ve seen !! What a Gem 💎 of a Monument!!! New Mexico is beautiful!! Have not visited Bandelier ❤❤❤ 😮😊
They are amazing! Thank you! ❤
Precious Angels!!
...love the little night sky time lapse...
Thank you! We thought it was pretty good! Kathryn does an amazing job
I'm from PA, and now that I'm retired, I have a plan to move to the SW for some dispersed camping on BLM land...my preference is the desert 🏜️
I was considering Ojito Wilderness north of Albuquerque...you have caused me to check the regions that you visited (although some areas are off-bounds for camping)...otherwise, outside of NM, Mojave Trails Nat'l Monument (in CA) has been another location...
Like yourself, I look at the wide open, flat vistas and just melt into it... the serenity, the quietude (I love silence), the majesty, the sunsets...relaxing in it all...
Thank you for the vicarious experience...
Blessings to both of you🙂
NM is a wonderful place to be! Safe travels!

Thanks...you, too...🙂
Just watched your Vietnam trip again! Can't wait for you to head back to Asia. Hopefully Thailand.
We can’t wait to go back also! Would love to explore Thailand!
When are you coming back to Minnesota to visit the places you missed! Like the Boundary Waters and Isle Royale!
We’ll be back but don’t have any immediate plans. Those are at the top of our lists!
