Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great job...............Tacos to the rescue, they look perfect! More work life balance, so happy you have reached this point in your career and I totally support this.
We didn’t want to do the sticky ones because they seemed inhumane. We bought a humane trap and some regular snap traps. Luckily didn’t have any more issues and didn’t need to use them!
@@AdventuresofAplusK I totally agree, I just thought if you had an emergency...it is a quick fix. Capture and release is always the best! You two are so loving, so proud of all you do.
Rodents!? Argh! Hike n RV, another RV ing couple based in Vancouver BC, get rodents often and use humane traps that seem easy to get and those work well! Glad you got the bugger out!
Thank you to both of you. You take me to places that I would never have dreamed of so I have to put this on my list. Well, everything except the mice.😮
Always watch your videos as soon as they come out! The quality of your production is superb! Looking forward to your next adventures in South America? Stay safe! :)
We had a similar mouse incidence last month near where yours happened. We were camping at Cave Lake State Park off from US 50 near Ely NV. We caught ours in the middle of the night in an empty pie box. BTW, we also love Great Basin NP, iI discovered it in 1984, before it became a NP, then went back in 1987 when it was now a NP. We've been going there about every 4 to 5 years since. The last time there, they had a night astromy show at the new night sky stadium they built near the visitor center. We were able to see another Galaxy at this show.
That is a great place to visit. Less crowding. Great views. While you are taking a bit of down time don’t forget trout fishing, Andrew! So glad that you are taking time to relax.
Good afternoon Adam and Katherine didn’t know you were in Nevada great oh watch out for mice treacherous so I was watching this am your Newfoundland some of my faves and old New England go pumpkin spice 😘🌿🌸☕️☕️
Hello again from Michigan! Thank you for finally filming Great Basin - I've been interested for a while in what you'd find there since I know next to nothing about it. The non-travel features in your videos (the story on the shoe tree from the last video and the mouse in today's video) have been a very welcome addition, and I can't help think of how good of a job you're doing with the filming and the audio on these. Very well done! What I'd really love to thank you for though is your guide to Atlantic Canada and the video you made on Old Rag at Shenandoah. I went through Newfoundland and Nova Scotia back in July, and your guide helped a lot! I ate at Mallard Cottage and the Narrows Public House, and I hiked the Starlite Trail just before sunset, which was amazing. I also did plenty more at Gros Morne and Terra Nova (thank you on Ochre Hill!), and I went up to L'Anse aux Meadows. On Old Rag this past Thursday when conditions were wet (beginning of rain from Helene), I was probably the best prepared out there. I was able to switch from poles to work gloves and actually pass people through the rock scramble. I learned by watching you. Thank you for making my travel life so much better than it otherwise would be! Just one addition to suggest for the guide: Glenghorm Beach Resort in Ingonish, NS. It was affordable, I could see the ocean from my balcony, and they serve lobster fettuccine at their restaurant. It was perfect before my day at Cape Breton Highlands.
We passed there this summer on our way from Salt Lake to Burney Falls. It is a beautiful area, and I so wanted to stop at the park but we didn't have time.
Great Basin is fabulous, indeed! Remote locations do make for fewer crowds. My ex and I loved our experience here just after the National Park designation. We bypassed Baker (Yet, you found a couple of interesting spots!) Camping at 10.5K inside the park amidst aspens was great. The night star show is still memorable. Climbing Wheeler Peak WAS an achievement. I still remember that awesome 360 view. I also remember a cliff side section that gave us a sense of vertigo. Great Basin is one of my Top5 National Park experiences. Thanks for sharing memories.
I have been wanting to go to this park for a long time but always ended up in death valley or Yosemite (my top two favorite national parks)!! I will try it next year. Thanks for the detailed info. By the way, that green color in the sky is most likely airglow from chemiluminescence and not an aurora (unless there was a geomagnetic storm in July). It happens sometimes in the sky. I have captured that green halo many times during my night photos.
I absolutely loved my trip there even though it’s the place I had my worst altitude sickness ever. It really is someplace you have to choose to go, since it is in the middle of nowhere, not near any other “tourist destinations”.
Great video as always! We had a mouse get into our travel trailer a few weeks so through the front door. There was a field mouse infestation at Bear Lake State Park in Idaho. These things were everywhere, but I digress.😂. We had our furnace wake us up in the middle of the night, totally freaked us out. The next day I started to wonder what happened but a few days later it became clear when it started to smell. I took the furnace apart and found the carnage. 😬
Nevada has lots of hidden gems. The alpine areas and parts of the desert are stunning. I have yet to visit Great Basin. I planned to go this summer on my way home but it didn't work out. Thanks for sharing! Now I really want to visit!
I live 3 hours away from Great Basin National Park for my whole life. I've never been there. Never even considered it. I thought several times of going to Lehman Caves, but there were nicer and greener places to visit; or so I thought. We would think, "Why would I want visit an alkali basin with a few sagebrush and tumbleweeds?" You set me straight. I'm starting now to plan my visit. Great report.
I visited Great Basin National Park a few years ago on a mini trip. The Leman Caves were amazing. I also went up the road and hiked the Bristlecone Pine Trail. However, it was in early October (the road was still open to the trailhead) and it was too windy and cold to enjoy the whole grove. I would love to return and visit the lakes as well as to summit Wheeler Peak. Thanks for taking us along. From Washington state!! :)
We were there 3 years ago in October, when we were on our way from the midwest to the west coast. We couldn't go up the Wheeler Peak road very far because they had snow up top, and the gate was closed about 2 miles up the road. We did go through the cave, which is pretty interesting and different than most, and we went on a couple of shorter walks. It's pretty out of the way, and one of those places that you don't just randomly drive by. We also drove the "loneliest highway" the next day, which I didn't find particularly interesting and wouldn't make an effort to do again.
Our "pet mouse: was IN THE WALL of our RV. We could hear him/her scritchin' & scratchin' every night, until we didn't. Fortunately, we were in the dry Arizona desert, if you know what I mean! Definitely no sleep!!! 🐀
Awesome, I love Great Basin. I visited there last year. Wheeler Peak is a workout. I hiked Mount St. Helens two weeks ago. You need to add that to your list if you haven't been there.
We actually won’t be taking a break on RUclips 😃 it was a behind the scenes break. Our next video will be out in 2 weeks and we’ll continue to post every 10-14 days for the next few months. Thanks for watching!
Been to Carlsbad Caverns, Mammoth Cave, Lewis and Clark, Kartchner Caverns, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Oregon Caves, Luray, etc. etc., you get the picture. That last room in Lehman, Grand Palace, is up there as one of the most stunning. Glad you could appreciate it like we did!!!
Love this video!! I only dream to see a night sky like that one day. Random question. You guys hike so much do you ever see any snakes? They freak me out. The one time we hiked near SLC we kept passing so many snakes and it was terrible.
Climbing to the top of mountain peaks seem to be very popular on YT, not only because of the challenge, but because the scenery from up there is off the charts. And did you hear that FF my Canadian climber friend, 314 named mountain ranges !!...thanks and until the next one.
Gorgeous scenery! Yes, we know there are many beautiful areas of Nevada. I've never been to this park thought. Looks like you need to make sure to pack in lots of water on the hikes. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing content as usual! ❤ I did also want to mention (mainly cause you blurred it later in the video) but you can see your license plate pretty clearly in the star photos (or kudos on superimposing a fake one!) 😂
Thank you so much! I am so excited for this video! Next weekend we will be at GBNP! We have our reservations for the cave tour. We are looking forward to the hikes and checking out the taco place and general store in Baker! The timing of your video is so perfect! I always love your videos😍
I've heard if you stuff steel wool pads in the nooks and crannies of campers and vans where critters sneak in that it will help deter them. Cheap and easy preventative hack to try out. :) Great video you guys! I drove by Great Basin traveling between Zion and Vegas - it's been on my list since!
Love this, will have to go back to the park and explore more. There are lots of amazing mountain areas in Nevada but there aren't on the general tourist radar outside of the state. Check out the Ruby Mountains Wilderness next time you're in Nevada, about 3 hours north of Great Basin.
Stunning views! I loved the old trees and the night sky. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your summer! Sorry you had mice- that would have freaked me out too. Do you think it was the same mouse who came back for more salami and honey? Looking forward to your next adventure!
We went there most times we drove cross country, back when it was Lehman caves nm. One time camping up in the aspens I saw a bear silhouette in the wall of my tent. Wheeler peak is so fun for hiking

It was NOT fun!
Can’t wait to get to here. Also they had the black out eclipse last year so that probably added to last year’s total more than normal.
Hey guys! Just curious, did you need to get a permit or are you able to film in National parks again because of the EXPLORE Act? Thanks!
Yes we were required to get a permit to film in the park. The last we’ve heard nothing has legally changed yet. Hopefully one day!
Thank you to both of you. You take me to places that I would never have dreamed of so I have to put this on my list. Well, everything except the mice.😮
Thank you for watching and we’re glad we could share! No more mice please! 🙏
The starry night/Milky Way pictures are incredible!
How's the traffic on Wheeler Peak drive? I'd like to ride my bicycle up it.

Enjoyed this video so much, stunning views and loved your rodent stories, always something😂, thanks again !!! ❤❤
Should of checked if that general store carries mouse traps 😂
This IS Nevada baby! That’s why we live here and it not all consumed by Vegas. Northern Nevada is a wonderful place to call home.
Great Milky Way photos! Sorry about the mouse interrupting your plans.
Great video! I always love watching your videos!
Thanks for the great scenery!!! Enjoy your time off..
Oh, and buy some sticky traps for the mice if you don't want to kill them with a regular spring loaded trap.
Good job with the peak and the mice! Another GREAT video!
