    Join me in my experience of installing the Sovol Klipper Screen. Other than the mcu hiccup, it was fairly easy. And I highly recommend this to any SV06 owners who want to check out Klipper without all the tinkering.

    Also, after watching the video, which I am sure you figured out already. You want to dial back the speeds in the slicer a bit, dial in PA, dial in estep and dial over/under extrusion. Klipper on these machines is so darn good with some minor tweaks. Sadly, they rushed this out with no real testing for our SV06/SV06P printers.

    It's possible your first USB cable was simply a power cable, not capable of data, and your 2nd is indeed a data cable.

    Put a sv06+ toolhead on and a better part cooling fan and you got yourself a fast printer. I'm running the sv06+ right now and can do a regulation benchy in 9.30. limited by the y motor skipping steps due to trying to accelerate the heavy bed. You can probably get it down to 6-7 minutes on an sv06. The current limiting factor of the sv06 right now is the flow. You'll get 12. 15 on a good day and maybe 20 if you use a CHT nozzle but it's not enough

    Great Video, was wondering if i would be able to slice in prusaslicer instead of Cura with this Klipper screen?

    • @Avel
      @Avel  5 месяцев назад

      Definitely! But you would either have to copy the settings from the Cura profile or find one someone has already made for Prusaslicer. I'm sure they're out there, but you may have to do some digging.

    I the video you showed the device booting up, and you turned it off before it could initialize. I think that this is the reason things went south. You probably turned it on the next time and gave it some more time to initialize and synchronize with the printer. I do not think the USB cable was the culprit here. Anyway - It's nice to see that Solvo is working great with Klipper...

    • @Avel
      @Avel  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching and commenting! This error continued through many reboots of the machine. I turned it off and on many times trying to re-flash it, thinking something had gone wrong with the flashing process. It also rebooted several times on its own when I selected one of the options (out of frame) on the MCU error screen to "Restart Klipper" or "Restart Firmware". All of which led back to the MCU error.
      Maybe the USB cable isn't 100% at fault but it wasn't until swapping the cable (and flashing again) that I got it to progress any farther.

    hi, I tried to look for the folder where to put the file for care but I can't find it, how can I find it?

    • @Avel
      @Avel  5 месяцев назад +1

      Are you unable to find the AppData folder? Try typing it out instead of clicking through the folders.
      What I have to do on some computers is get to the users folder, click whichever user you want and then type \AppData at the end of the address because the folder is hidden.
      That should take you there.

      @@Avel thank you very much I will try, I have another problem when I try to connect to the Wi-Fi it doesn't find it or if it finds it it disappears after a while, do you know how to solve it? could it be a problem with my klipper?

    • @Avel
      @Avel  5 месяцев назад

      Sorry I didn't see this sooner...
      I had a similar issue with the WiFi too. It was caused by a weak signal. I ended up getting a cheap WiFi extender from Amazon and have it plugged in the same room as the printer. No problems since.
      You can test if you need one by moving the printer closer to your router and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then you have the same problem I had and the extender should fix it.

    thanks for the video. i have a question about the all home and z offset. i do the all home and run the z offset calibration just like you did and saved it. then hit the all home button again and the z offset goes back to its original spot before doing the offset. is that what its supposed to do? shouldn't it go back to where i set the offset to? that's the way it worked with the normal controller. please save my sanity!

    • @Avel
      @Avel  Месяц назад

      I'm not near my printer at the moment, but when you home, I believe the Z height is 5mm. So even though you set the Z-Offset, the home position is not the same.
      In the menu, you should be able to see if the offset you entered/saved is still set. It's also on the main page of Mainsail in the Toolhead menu.
      Hope this helps!

      Yet another useless video because the fucking platform doesn't stay connected and the booklet doesn't give good enough instructions to show how the fuck to make it stay in place just like this video.

  • @queenidog1
    @queenidog1 2 месяца назад

    I put in my wifi address, got an IP (private ip as you did) but NOTHING after that. Didn't open anything whereas yours went into Mainsail. I assume the connection is from Klipper, to wifi, to whatever IP is associated with Mainsail, but have no idea why it didn't go there. Ideas anyone? I'm soooo close to making this work.

    • @Avel
      @Avel  2 месяца назад

      I had an issue where the IP was showing up but I couldn't get into Mainsail.
      On the screen where it shows your connections ( 14:06 ) at the end of the last line it shows a number and then '"dBm". That's the WiFi signal strength.
      Mine was something like -90 dBm, which is very weak. If yours is weak, try moving the printer closer to the router, or what I did was buy a WiFi extender from Amazon for like $16 and put it in the room with the printer and connect it through that.
      (The one I bought a.co/d/aKkcQFM)

    That happened to me, too, it means the firmware didn't take, as I am sure you are about to find out. NOT THE CABLE. Easy way is to leave the old screen connected. if it boots, the firmware didn't take. If it doesn't, klipper should boot

    What do you mean at 9:19, Z aline does not work, it tilts your axis? How do you aline then?

    • @Avel
      @Avel  4 месяца назад

      I printed two 40mm blocks and used those to align the Z. I just put one on each side of the bed, lower the Z by hand until it's pinching the blocks, then manually back each Z stepper off little by little until the blocks are just loose enough to come out.

    • @johndoe-is2fw
      @johndoe-is2fw 4 месяца назад

      @@AvelSo your Z axis tilts on its way back maybe? Your way should be faster. thx for the reply.

    • @Avel
      @Avel  4 месяца назад

      That would be my guess. One side moves just slightly faster back down than the other, which throws it off. Ever since I started using the blocks, I haven't had to do that alignment anywhere near as often.

    • @Avel
      @Avel  5 месяцев назад

      Honestly, I haven't noticed any major difference.
      I was having issues when I first got the printer by using their Z Align function. That would throw it out of whack, that's why I skipped it in this video.
      I just printed two tall blocks and used those to align the Z at the bed. Haven't had an issue since.
