Heard mainly positives about this printer. Your review is great as always. I have PEI on all my printers, I learned to wash my PEI sheets with Dawn brand dish soap prior to use, no warping or need for glue stick, just a wipe down with rubbing alcohol after is all now. Keep the reviews coming!
They are a great printer, the only tip I would give is to not use the automatic gantry leveling (the one that rams the gantry into the top of the frame). It's often inaccurate and you are better off lowering the gantry onto 2 identical objects placed about 20mm in from the edge of your bed till the gantry just barely touches both objects with even pressure. Remove the objects and home the machine and then do a bed mesh and you should have a more accurate level for the mesh to compensate for.
SV 06 is awesome, HOWEVER the SV06 Plus is in another world. I wish I had bought the plus before the SV06, but I love them both. Best value for money printers around
Do a full 1 layer print. I just got a new bed sent to me, first could not print a level print. The top being graphiced will come off on print, if not the paint, the grid does. I like it, if I can get it to actually get the first layer to print correctly... will be the make or break of my machine.
About 5 years ago you reviewed the Tevo Tarantula which got me on my 3d printing journey. Compared to the printers of today it's a real piece of crap! I still have it but it's heavily modded and looks nothing like stock.
Same! But I didn't do that many mods on it and got rid of it. Tevo's quality control was so bad... Support also basically nonexistent. Just for it to print 1 benchy, I had to spend days trying to fix things because of some factory defects :c
Strange, I have had my SV06 since a month or so after launch date and I have had no issues with bed adhesion. I did however tram my gantry to the bed rather than to the top. The automatic gantry leveling simply is not effective, the frame twists slightly when trammed and the gantry is slanted as a result, not to mention the end stops at the top are often not level and are not trammed to the bed themselves. Tram the gantry to the bed using 2 objects of identical height and you should have no issues, even with a slightly warped bed. I have only used 95a TPU on my machine (as far as flex is concerned), but sunlu 95a seems to print at 100mm/s with no issues. I accidently used my PLA speeds on a TPU part and was kinda shocked how well it printed. I think "Lost In Tech" had an early beta machine and it was the only SV06 I saw that had problems with TPU.
Having owned this printer for a year, describing it as "good" would definitely be a bit of a stretch in my eyes. "Decent" might be more appropriate, but it constantly has annoying little issues. Came with a very warped bed (common issue for this machine), x gantry often gets out of level within a week or two of leveling it, bed probe seems a little inconsistent but always overestimates proximity on the right side, resulting in printing too high on that side regardless of the gantry leveling. If the belts are a bit too tight, the steppers will make these horrible crunching noises on travel moves, and layer stacking is atrocious sometimes especially for fast straight lines. Not sure if this is a z axis or hotend issue. I have been very happy with the extruder tho, I never get clogs and very rarely see underextrusion. And the quality can be decent if you slow down. And the price is fantastic of course
Hi, thanks for the video. I followed the instructions and it worked so good, But once I finished the filament that came with the Printer, I had another kind (Black) and even after hours and hours of tweaking I get spaghetti or sub par prints with tons of ugly mishaps. So. I was wondering if you knew the name of the white filament that came with the printer, because I want to get some ! Thanks.
Is here someone who has fixed the auto-z-align-problem with the SOVOL SV06? Everytime I start the "Auto Z-align" the printer starts moving, stops and the display shows "Driver error: PRINTER HALTED please reset". I already installed the latest firmware from a new micro-SD-card, but i never got farther than the Auto Z-align
Would love to know if you used fully stock settings/firmware and which slicer you use? (Sorry if my question doesn’t make complete sense, very very very new to 3d printing just ordered this one)
Hello Friend, I bought a Sovol v6 60 days ago and I'm struggling with bed adhesion. The PEI is not holding the prints, and I even had to buy a new Hotend set for a complete replacement because plastic got stuck when detaching from the PEI, damaging the entire Hotend. Could you tell me what I can do? I'm almost considering throwing away this machine.
Five or ten years ago yea I'd agree any printer under 500 is going to be pretty bad but we've come a long long ways since then....decent printers can be had for 150, even, nowadays.

@@alex59292 I'd definitely get the SV06 Plus over the Neptune. So many better features. The only reason to get the Max is if you truly need that huge print volume, and then it's still over $100 more expensive.

FYI I would HIGHLY suggest opening the control box and trying to wiggle every screw-terminated ferrule. My SV06 was printing totally fine then the bed stopped heating and my klipper threw a thermal runaway error.. I thought the cable had been mis-installed at the bed with how it is, but no! They managed to wedge the wire ferrules underneath tightened screw terminals.. on 3 of them! That's a big QC yikes, that could have been a fire if thermal runaway hadn't noticed something was wrong.. No idea if their firmware would have caught that, I converted it immediately after confirming basic operation, just don't trust it until you look close at the connections. Also printables user "rogerquin_304616" has some very useful sovol strain relief designs, to further help with the the issues in their design.
Ta en skursvamp man har i köket, med den gröna sidan så skrubbar du PEI plattan (ganska mycket) och diskar rent med diskmedel då sitter det som berget :)
