    I just found your site on RUclips! I am ecstatic that finally, I found a superb procedure to replace a sky no matter what is on the horizon, be it trees with open branches or very uneven mountains, etc. I did make some personal adjustments which fit my personal workflow such as using "blend if." Your video was very easy to follow, the instructions were in logical order and clearly stated. Obviously, it did take me several tries and pausing your video as I practiced replacing skies, but now I feel very comfortable. I subscribed and look forward to your other instructional videos.

      Brilliant stuff as usual, Glyn. But i do have one question: Was there a reason why you made the mask on the sky layer, rather than adding it to the backround layer and moving your new sky underneath? (I'm just curious as to why you did it that way around!). Thanks.

    So far I have watched about 30 to 40 of your videos and in most of them I have picked up a new trick that I was able to put to use right away in my workflow. In this one: using the brush in soft light mode for the filter and having the layer style as a layer. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    How do I make my color range tool look like yours? When I open my tool and go to the drop down menu and select mid tones, shadows or highlights I am also given two sliders to adjust. Should I leave them at 0 or move them all the way up to 100?

    What a great lesson. Question for you. At the 5:19 position, once you have the midtone and shadow channels saved, would it better to make a "Calculation" using the "Add" command and just join the two saved channels?

    Hi, Glyn -- I am just catching up with some of your older tutorials, so I apologize for the delay in getting this question to you: If you had applied the duplicate-with-Multiply-and-Layer-Mask technique to the Background layer at the beginning -- rather than at the end -- of your workflow, would it not have retrieved more of those almost-disconnected, almost-blown-out branch tips and leaves from that troublesome tree on the left?
    Curiously (if Tardily),
    Lórien

    Great job Glyn. I still noticed a little bit of a red toned fringe on the leaves, could using a hue/sat adjustment layer targeting the reds and shift it more towards the sky blue helped? Probably in colorize mode. Either way it looks great! I'm really enjoying your shows. Thank you

    I tore what hair I have left out playing to get the best result for this and did actually try that as it would have made it quicker resulting in just one extra channel but for some reason it just didn't work all that good. Gave me the same result as using sample colours and clicking in the sky :(

    Hello again Mr. Glyn I've a question trying to follow your instructions in the video I noticed the marching ants disappear in segment 3:50 what did you do to make it disappear? I can't figure if I need to deselect it or it was a jump in the video? Was it a command key you don't mention? I'm still looking at the video trying to figure it out haven't proceeded much further. Also I'm using a different photo with a dog in the background of a dark area that is toned almost the same as the dog been fiddling trying to figure out what to do with that too. Your advise please an step procedure?

    • @glyndewis
      @glyndewis  10 лет назад

      To make them disappear I say / do "Select...DeSelect" once I have saved them

      Question I noticed this works with colors that are clear cut as the sky an trees you have in the video what if there not an multicolored or both dark/light an are not so clearly defined?
