Don't spend your life savings away upgrading everything in your car to get a GVM upgrade when THIS could be the answer!
For residents in the far North Queensland region, contact Lindsay at Livingstone Automotive Consulting on 0747748807. Lindsay is located in Townsville but travels around on set days. Simply call his lovely office staff for assistance. If you are outside of FNQ, contact your nearest automotive engineer and show them this video and see if they can help you out!
We have Air Bag Man airbags with kevlar sleeves and Pedders Trackryder coil springs installed so we can tow. We will delve into these in more detail in our next build episode coming very shortly. ** This GVM upgrade is STILL ACHIEVABLE without these items installed, as per the Nissan's axle rating guidelines. Your discretion is advised if towing with the manufacturers coil setup which is not always sufficient for heavy loads. **

Enjoying this series. Hoping to do something similar with a new van and new Patrol too. That tow ball weight was one issue that was concerning me but you guys have it sorted. Thanks for being the pioneers for us on that.

Very impressive and informative info given there,as I’m in Cairns for a job opportunity today, and one of the blokes mentioned to me after he saw my rig,and asked me if I had a GVM Upgrade,I didn’t know what the hell he was talking about lol,but after watching this episode tonight, now I know, exactly what he was on about, thank you for sharing your amazing woman, and Chris is one lucky guy

Great work guys. The authorities are a pain in the butt regardless of which state you are in and somehow they word stuff that contradicts items. You have done it the right and the easy way. Really wish the industry would get cleaned up as stop companies advertising ridiculous prices for things that you don't need or really are not going the help that much.

Hello Big OZ Explorers,I finally had my GVM Upgrade done by ARB today at Townsville, total paided $595,with a all the paper work and compliance plate fitted as well ,as the vehicle already had the rear Heavy Duty OLD Man Emu Suspension fitted when I purchased the Vehicle, last year but recently I had the Warn Winch fitted and a OLD Man Emu 2 inch lift kit for the front,a few weeks ago,so now I have the Certificate of Modification & the OME GVM Upgrade sticker in the the front page of the Manual, and next step is to complete a change of details form at the registration dept, now I have a peace of mind,Thanks guys for sharing and getting the message out,as most people that I have seen on the road are definitely well overweight,as most have not done the GVM Upgrade when towing their Caravan or Camper Trailer.

Thanks guys. I was wondering how you were going to do it. Important information about not needing to spend thousands for essentially another 20kg over what you have now.

great work guys love the research you do, not just whack it together and hope for the best. have you guys considered a dash camera, great for protecting the vehicle when parked and also for insurance when driving, best thing I have done on my Hilux already paid for itself. keep up the great work love watching your journey.

Great information love the passion you guys have on the Y62, by increasing the GVM by 180 then you will have to take this off the weight of the caravan to keep it under the GCM? If a remember by one of your previous vids you were over the limit in the van and you had to remove items so this could be interesting to see how you go with the next weigh in.

Enjoy the video It's very hard to keep a modern vehicle legal That's the only reason why I still drive 80 series lane cruiser And I ran a 6.2 LS3

Like someone mentioned, the reason right or wrong u require a rear bar or long range tank is due to the GVM is with 200kg and above rear springs. Therefore if u are not carrying the weight to load the springs then with independent suspension it throws out the alignment and ride of the car. In Vic with the full GVM upgrade we gain an extra 585kg so worth it.i like what u did though smart and cheap to get a little extra which helps stay legal these days
