Sandy I wish you read this - you are a wonderful guy surrounded by a great bunch of people. Awesome organization and culture. I love every video you guys put out. The transparency, lack of bullshit, content, everything. You guys rock and should be proud. Thank you sincerely for offering so many people here free high quality content and access to knowledge. We are living exciting times for sure!
Cory, I love your fish analogy. I spent my career in sales and that’s up there with the best I’ve ever heard. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words, but it doesn’t take a thousand words to draw a picture.
By far the best video ever made by Munro. The general excitement of the battery pack innovations were evident and Sandy just about losing it over the sheet molded compound structural parts :). Hoping the additional funds raised for lovely Megan will provide her family with the necessary resources to ensure a successful recovery.
I love watching these presentations. I'm not an engineer, I'm retired, frankly, these presentations have no relevance to my life, but I watch them. They are informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work.
I’m definitely not a technical guy or engineer. Never was really interested in automotive technology. But I am interested in manufacturing and especially how Tesla keeps innovating in this area. I thank Sandy, Cory and their team for the very entertaining and illuminating way to show us how this all works and certainly why Tesla is on top of their game. Thank you guys!
Thanks for the great content. I'm not in the automotive business but have high respects for your business model, because of how significant it is to innovation. Enjoyed Sandy's almost orgasmic unboxing very much, love to see that passion for engineering.
Thank you Sandy and Corey and the crew for that unique and wonderful information that made me smile and learn a bit more about the battery structure of a Tesla!
Wow, best episode ever. Great content PLUS amazing bonus content. Between castings and molded CF, imagine..... I hope Sandy has some spares on site. I think some wee may have come out.
I’m so impressed with the mouldings out of Italy, as a Sheetmetal worker (Retired) its great to see this new high modulus casting. I remember using Carbon fibre composites on a superyacht we built for an American to attend the Australian America’s Cup challenge years ago. Actually I was doing the Alloy Hull as part of a Team but in NZ we didn’t have hard demarcation lines so I got to help a bit with the fly bridge in Carbon fibre. What we made was crude compared with the stuff you unboxed … Keep doing what you do so well …
Sandy and team, thanks very much for all the amazing content you guys have produced for the community over the years. I hope the donations from the community will help your niece, in this difficult time. All the best and keep up the good work.
If Sandy is excited about some new product then I'm excited about that product. I'm looking forward to learn about those components that came in from Italy.
The proof is in the pricing. This is just the sneak preview. Carbon fiber is not new, but forming it into complex, structural parts for mass production is.
Sandy, your enthusiasm is just so infectious! You remind me of an old friend who, when learning to weld pipe said "If I get in the way, just keep welding 'cause I gotta see!" .
I absolutely love Sandy's childlike excitement over smart engineering. The two people on this earth that most need to be preserved or have aging stopped is Elon and Sandy.
Hello Sandy. I have been watching your channel probably since you started it. You have inspired me to by a Tesla. After much thought for the last few years and reading everything about the car I finally pulled the trigger. I'm an 86 years old fart. But I'm very techy knowligble. it reminders me the question and answer segment you had some time back when someone called you an old fart! Any way..Last friday my dream came true. I picked up my model 3 longe range. Drove home about 50 miles I tried the autopilot and worked! I was very excited until the following day when I started backing up from a parking spot and people started walking in back of my car and I heard no warning. So. I checked al the setting an everything was turned on. So I started driving around and notice that none of the safety fixtures were working .Lane departure, blind spot warning, auto emergency warning. Nothing! Again I checked all the settings. All turned on. This morning I called Tesla . Thank god I got through. They checked all my settings and told me that the cameras have to be calibrated and to drive some more. Really? I already drove 150 miles .Hyway and side roads. This is not acceptable. Its a very dangerous safety issue. Especially the backup sensor. I buy new cars every few years and when I leave the dealer al the bells and whistles are working! Why not Tesla with all there technology? So. I'm very disappointed and sad. They made an appointment for friday .I have to drive over an hour to get there. I Hope this can be fix or Ill demand my money back. e checked all the seting
Poke Yoke!!! Great to hear it here. Red green blindness ... oh man your are so great in Lean Processes. I´ve been fighting this items since 20 years in electronics production and most people totally ignore it and might think I´m a little crazy ... because they all know "exactly" what to do wihtout any documentation ... by experience only. You make a great job here!!!
Most 'color blind' people aren't blind in certain colors though it's a common misconcention, they are just deficient. The most common variant is deuteranomaly which makes people less sensivite to green hue. It's like looking at washed out colors, you can see the color but it's not as 'popping' as for people with normal colorvision. But there are anamolies for each red, green and blue wavelengths, even some people who can't see those colors at all, but it's very rare. So actually there are no safe colors for all variants of color blindness, just some colors that are less ideal to combine like red and green as that's the most issue for colorblind people(for those odd cases where the person cant differentiate at all). The most common problem is seeing differences in hues, specifically a color sample that is a mix of green and red, but should be green dominant. Because of deficiency that color will probably just look brown(as in equal parts of green and red combined instead of clear green dominance). For most colordeficient people clear green, red and blue are perfectly distinguishable. One funny note is that research shows that some color blind people are better at distinguishing different hues of Khaki, so they could see through camouflage better than normal color vision people. It's still good move on Teslas behalf to implement this though to eliminate most potential mishaps.
The "serving you dinner" vs. "ocean of data" analogy is under-rated. In the past years I have developed a deep distaste for "generated" reports - for exactly this reason. Give me well-curated, and attentively crafted reports, please. Good job!

Hi Sandy/Cory. Saw you struggling with the rubber glove. Try wearing a thin tight pair of cotton gloves as the base layer before putting on the rubber pair. I do that to get around the grip of the rubber gloves, I used to use baby powder and that stops working as soon as hands start to sweat. Hope that helps.
