This tutorial is wonderful and I will definitely try this method because all of my products woth felting always needs bleeding and more details. I think I'm going to make a carrot w I th a face kinda like yours.... if it turns out good I might try to make the purple vegetable that you did greatly.😀😀😀
Thank you! I'd say he's.. moderately firm. I don't like to make my guys too squishy, because I feel like they don't hold their shape so well and the surface stays too fuzzy, but I don't usually have the energy/attention/time to make them extremely super stiff. Somewhere in the middle I guess. I'm usually satisfied when the surface is smooth enough.
I feel like felting on wire literally trained me to felt smoothly, being so gentle yet consistent and mindful just works so well, also felting roughly until the few last coats, just helps to preserve your energy because smooth Felting can take lots of gently focused stabs. I REALLY like this root guy, I think about trying making my own with this tutorial
Yes! You do have to be so gentle! And it’s a great idea to just take your time and be mindful, since it’s going to take so long no matter what, you might as well enjoy it!! 😁
@@AssemblyRequiredCrafts that is a great tip! I have a silly question! Turns out I don’t have a beety color, but I do have bordo red and aubergine purpleas weel as other flowery purples (like violet, lavender and lilac), do you feel like mixing red and purple and maybe even pink will create a good beet color? I really want to make this one 🤩
@@GuyBelievesInWorldPeace yes I think so! Mixing colors can be really fun! Besides, there are all different shades of beets, so whatever color you come up with will be awesome! (I don't know if you've tried mixing colors with dog brushes, but I feel like it works pretty well!)
@@AssemblyRequiredCrafts thank you! I have been mixing by hand but I really want to try the dog brush method, seems more efficient - but mixing by hand or by layers still works especially with roving, just takes little more patience. I bet I can find an affordable dog brush pretty easily.
Wonderful tutorial, I've been needing help with getting a smoother finish on my projects. What needle size did you use for the first smoothing before you used your 40g? Your little veggie guy is adorable🥦🍆🥬🧄
@@AssemblyRequiredCrafts I'll have to look for one of those. I have a 36 and a 38 but I don't know what kind they are. I know they aren't spiral so I think I will put that on my list to get one. Thanks again for a great tutorial.💖
Good question. I know a lot of people really like multi tools, and they would make big areas go a lot faster.. but I find them kind of awkward and clumsy. However, I’m basing this on what was probably a super poor quality multi tool. Maybe one day I’ll give them another chance. Do you use them and like them?
@@AssemblyRequiredCrafts I use single needles for detail, twin needles I call my "line tool" for defining edges and the 4 - 6 needles I consider "coloring" or "finishing" needles. Mind you these aren't official names, its just what I call them. I wish I had the confidence to make videos like you do
I think it turned out great!! It's super cute!! I love that you just added color as if you were painting!!
Thank you! That’s definitely the method that makes the most sense to me!!
I love him!! I have such a hard time with color blending I found this helpful
Oh I'm so glad it helped! 😁
Your videos are so positive and bubbly. I love them and I love this lil dude 🥰
Thank you!!
So cute!
Thanks!! 😊
Great video! A joy to watch!
I'm so glad you liked it!

That sounds awesome! Have fun! It turns out pretty cute, for being a weird little root vegetable!
I loved him. How squishy is he? Mine end up so Hard, I'm not sure if I'm doing it right

I think they're supposed to be fairly hard

Thank you! I used a 38 spiral. I pretty much use it for everything, it is by far my favorite needle! :)

How come you don't use a multi needle tool for bigger areas?
