  • I forged this from a busted fuller and it is 3/4" coil spring but I like the way it turned out. This was the fust time I have used my cross peen since I put a new handle on it, so it was long overdue to swing it. I hope you enjoyed the video thanks for watching!! #blacksmith #diy #metalworking

    ..might get a bit warm on hot stuff. i made one like that and it sure is handy. Guess that's why i go thru a couple of pairs of gloves. Good job Lee...!!

      If I could only find a left glove supplier id be good to go, my right glove last forever haha.

    In the forge very little goes to waste. Most stuff can be re-used for something else, within limits. One thing I have ran into in the past is when using old used coil springs is sometimes they have small cracks in them and that is probably why they were replaced. Normally it isn't through 100% of the spring, plus if someone is willing to give them to me for free I can work around it. Just something to keep an eye out for.

      I have had quite a few crack from bad coil springs, but the free price is definitely worth dealing with it does get tiresome when I keep breaking tools due to imperfections
