  • Jack Miller likes learning how people created items hundreds of years ago and then trying to duplicate it himself. We spent an afternoon visiting with Jack and here is some of our visit. We hope to get back when it is not quite so cold and he has his forge up and running so we can watch him work.

    Probably a bigger reason they folded axes back in the day was because huge chunks were rarer and harder to make. Today, we can find a chunk at the scrap yard, back then, there weren't as many. So blacksmiths would use what they had to make what they needed, oftentimes using a iron wagon tire for a folded axe.
