Holy shit, Part 2 of the Ford commercial was freaking HILARIOUS! Looking forward to part 2 of this series.
I've always used Rotella T3, over 200K and still all original stock engine. I definitely respect your opinion and advice, but $52 per gallon verses $15 per gallon is a big jump
I did an oil analysis on every change of my Piper aircraft. It saved my a$$ when I got results back there was high content of oil pump metal in the oil. Had the pump changed and the A&P said the pump was close to mid-flight failure. I am a strong believer in oil analysis, especially in high hour engines.
Nailed it Sir! Only Schaeffer oil in my 7.3 and all vehicles.
MerryChristmas Clint I don’t know what we would do without ya I wish I could ship my 96 7.3 up to ya she needs a little attention ur the man I’d trust to do it happy new year be safe love your channel ♥️👍🏼✌🏼
Hi brother hey I’m leaving the message because I think I owe you a special thanks for the last 3 days I’ve been removing my top end of the 7.3 engine turbo,pedestal,up-pipes, and radiator reservoir along with new boots and cleaning everything else it’s taken me about a year to buy everything little by little and man that turbo and the backside up-pipes aren’t no joke but a BIG THANKS TO YOU AND SHOWING ME HOW TO do ALL OF THESE THIgs I DONT KNOW IF I COULD HAVE GOTTEN IT DONE SO CLINT THANK YOU SO MUCH I MEAN THAT STAY TRUE TO WHAT YOU DO and yes one more day and it should be up and running thanks brother
This is fantastic thanks
Definitely like part 2 🤣
I run the Rotella 15 40 year round. Clint, hope you had a Merry Christmas!!! 🎅 🎄
Jay.
Rotella has taken me a smooth 600k and counting...i can test but i dont see myself switching.
I’ve been running Schaffers supreme 7000 15/40 for 3 yrs now and prof is in the pudding guys. Won’t run anything else. I have a 02 f250 7.3 with 442000 on it and it runs awesome. Totally stock with no mods. The key is to get a good rep from schaffers which should be no problem. Thanks Clint for the awesome info. I was going to do a video on it but just haven’t quite made it there yet. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🇺🇸✌️
can't insert a URL, I have a Blackstone labs report, Insane Diesel ByPass oil filter, report - We take every aspect of the report into consideration when suggesting a longer run. From these
results, a longer run should be doable. The viscosity looks fine, and the TBN shows plenty of active additive
left. You can also be confident that oil filtration was working effectively based on the low insolubles. Wear
looks good, too. Of the metals, only aluminum (pistons) is elevated and 4 ppm is certainly not a cautionary
result, more an area to monitor as trends build.
I have been using Rotella T5 with the Baldwin 94-03 filter. In the process of chassing an oil leak on the HPOP, and doing upgrades along with the repairs. I have a Cat C12, that I monitor the Oil with testing at the Cat lab yearly. I am going to give Blackstone a try. Thanks for the info.
02 F350
Rotella 5 40 in the maine winter. 15 40 makes mine start hard after sitting at work all day and 5 40 does the trick.
I've been running mobile delvac 15w40 for years. I guess I can accept your challenge 😊
Using amsoil filter and signature series hd 15w40 100% synthetic and unlike so many that claim to be full synthetic when they’re only a small percentage actually synthetic mixed with conventional because that’s all they have to do by law up to 25% synthetic the rest is all dinosaur that most people people are running thinking it’s synthetic.
That’s why I’m running Amsoil and because in my research of videos of Amsoil versus Schaeffers especially when it comes to cold temperature flow Amsoil beats it and other test it has as well I think they’re both great oils but I honestly believe Amsoil is better imo.
If Schaeffer's was not available and you had to choose between Ford and Rotella, what would you use.
Great ending by the way!

@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD Thanks
Finally finding someone who really knows the 7.3.( You, Clint!) Got a problem that two mechanics can't figure out and no help from the forums. Could you recommend an On Line mechanic I could call for advice fee $$ to figure this out? 96 will not accelerate, was working fine 4 months ago, it sat for 2 months and now it starts fine idles smooth but will not go above 1400 rpm once warmed up. Has new TPS and all new wiring harness, new fuel filter deleted EBP tang and valve Might be failure of IDM or PCM?
24k hours at 60mph is 1.44 million miles.. just for a road reference
Change my oil every 3000 miles, with Rotella T 15-40 the white not synthetic, with Ford oil filters original owner of a E350 Superduty Van 170k A1 transmission is running the synthetic, had to put in a new injector from Sand in the Fuel 20k ago changed all 8. Inside was like new. My oil is clean on the dipstick, and I add 16 oz of the Archoil. I put in a fuel polishing kit when I changed my injectors. Have not had a problem since. Yup they found a bag of sand in my tank, got passed the screens. So I also changed the fuel pump at the time. Currently looking for an Auxiliary tank that I can put were the spare tire is so that I would only fill from one and run off from another to make sure the fuel is clean. I have gotten bad fuel twice once in Florida, and once in Vermont. Both were name brands. Got the dip stick cnc kit replacement for the oil pan . Have not done that yet , still reluctant to drop the nut on the inside and leave it in the bottom of the pan. It was 300 bucks, my PRC, aircraft product is still preventing the leak but it is not a permanent solution. Where is your shop. P.S. I have always run her on that oil. Yes, know about the Shaffer but, too expensive too change out every 3000 which I have always done.
Can you change the plenums without removing the turbo? I have a 1997 OBS F250 and learning alot about it through your great videos, Thanks
I understand the " Hydro Dynamic Wedge" of oil in cam and Crankshaft Bearings but what about Cam lobe to lifter contact? Does it exist there as well?
Take 2 is the winner
Wishing you a very Merry Cristmas !
Rotella t3 15-40... Summer, same but 10-30 winter
Great video and intro.. Would upgrading with the Schaeffer oil make sense on a 7.3 with a little over 300K on the odometer? Would it reverse anything of just maintain current condition with the internal parts of the motor?
When can we expect a part 3 for catch cans. For the drivers side?
Because 4 gallons of delvac is $50 delivered to my door step from Sam's club. That's why.
I will say my friend asked if I could help change his oil. That thing had maybe a quart and a half in it. And it looked like molasses. I couldn't believe the engine was still running. That oil had to have had some insane amount of miles on it. He said he had added Prolong to it after watching one of their commercials.
I've always used the cheapest blend or full synthetic oil I can find and usually go 6k miles before changing.. Sometimes I've gone closer to 7500 miles, just because of not having time to do it... My past 3 vehicles have gone well past 300k miles, and my current 2002 7.3L is still going strong; So I've never bought into the marketing hype really. If it passes the standard testing specifications, it's probably fine IMO.. Granted, I've never done oil testing analysis -- I can only speak on the end results.. But I've never seen my gas vehicles reach 400k miles; I've always spun a bearing before then.... But I understand, you're talking about diesels here. :) ... I definitely pay attention to the findings in oil analysis testing on the net; but I avoid any marketing, because they usually don't even tell you the addatives- so you're not sure what you're even getting. Looking forward to part 2
I get it, it's a superior product... but over 4 time s the price?
Question since this is one of the best 7,3 web pages I want to ask for help.
2003 e450 7.3 diesel looking for help with loss of power sometimes off start other times it has very little power you can start and lift off pedal and reapply the pedal and it take off with great amount of power. you can decelerate to make a turn and loss of power but regains power as you turn. down the street. from stop sign you can start of and have very little power and come to a complete stop and press the gas pedal and it take off with full power.
you can get to full speed and lift of gas pedal and reapply gas pedal and the engine produce no power. lift of again and reapply and it starts producing power. Again
we replaced injectors 2,3,4,6, new turbo.
tested fuel psi 60 but low volume so we replaced pick up tubes screen and both inline filter inside the tube. change filter on top of engine.
inj buzz test passed every time.
replaced map sensor.
oil level is full.
icd pressure ok
I've spent 6k in the last 3month with shops that are throw parts at it
I've ran out of money for throwing strikes. I need a Home Run!!
thank you.
Shame we don't get it in Australia
This is off topic, but, I have a 02 F350 with the 7.3 engine. The problem is that it is having oil dilution by fuel. Any ideas on where to look??? It also blows white smoke out of the exhaust that smells of diesel.
This is unrelated to this video but don't you have a video on the proper start up after replacing injectors? I can't find it.
tHERE WILL BE A MUCH BETTER VIDEO THIS YEAR BUT HERE IS THE OLD ONE ruclips.net/video/Ywa2n_A7zxE/видео.html
Someone was saying to me that the diesel or the fuel, bio blend fuel that Oregon mandates actually has additives or something that eats orings and other stuff what’s your opinion on this. And I use Rotella T4 15-40 every 5000 miles
Yeah some areas along I5 (in Eugene) sell R99... The new "bio fuel" that I believe is at least in part from old fuel/oil. No track record as far as I know. Suspect to me as I am sure Oregon would love to follow California and get rid of diesels.
Maybe missed this answer, if so sorry. If I already have 230,000 miles , would I still retain the benefits of Schaefers oil ?
T4 is the best
Delo? Whops I guess I shouldn't use shell. Big mistake it ate the sensors.
What brand of oil filter do you recommend
How can this help an old engine with 200k miles.? Isn't the damage already done.???
