I like this replacement repair flange appears very stout.. Good job..
Saved me a ton of work. Successful fix on my broken flange. Thank you.
GOOD WORK!
Great work👍
This looks very interesting! Not sure if it will work for my situation or not. Upstairs commode was leaking under floor and I need to replace some subfloor then plan to use 1/4'' backerboard and tile. Flange rails are both broken and the flange is glued on the outside of 3'' pipe. I bought a chisel today and planned to careful hand saw on outside and gently chisel away and replace flange. This product looks great to me but I don't know if it will work when I have to patch in new subfloor around commode.
thanks ya just saved me a lot of work
This Toilet is still as solid as it was the day we set it. Per Management of Cowboys OKC
Thanks for this informative video. Next time please hold the phone in the landscape position.
Hey what’s the outside diameter of the pvc flange?
Thanks.
Lars Turner maybe you have an idea. I have live in my home for 15 years. And never had an issue with the hall main bathroom in my home.
A couple weeks ago I noticed the right side wasn't attached to the flange so today I decided to fix the flange ,toilet was leaking every time you flush.....
So I removed the toilet and found the toilet flange was installed incorrectly flange was installed 15 degrees to the right as if the toilet was installed back to the tub.. because the flange is 3 sided there is no spot for a bolt to attach and I bought a push in style flange fits on there but now the flange is 1 1/2 times to wide to fit under toilet... what's my solution and yes flange was glued in.
Thanks for the Video, I may have to use this repair kit on my Nephews toilet, his is cast iron and has a piece broken out just about the same as yours was, I didn't know that you put the nuts on the two long bolts before setting the stool, this one is in a residential area and has the two holes for the bolts to go through and then the nuts and washers go on the top after the toilet is set in place, do I put nuts and washers on the new flange bolts like you did before setting the toilet down in place and the another set of washers and nuts on the top side?
I usually use one set of nuts and washers to secure the bolt to the flange (flange repair in this case) and one set of nuts and washers to secure toilet to the flange. It helps keep the bolt from falling over when you set the toilet. It also makes it easier to take off if you ever have to remove the toilet again.

Now Available at Menards!
That's exactly what I need because I don't want to replace the whole flange. My toilet was leaking from the base when I first moved in to my apartment 3 years ago. The maintenance guy replaced the wax ring, overtightened one of the bolts, and broke the plastic flange. The toilet started leaking from the base again. The management tried to charge me $100 to replace 2 smoke alarms that were working just fine. I know I can do a better job and I don't want to lose my deposit so I'm going to fix it myself. I think I'm going to get one of those foam rings instead of wax.
This will work for sure but DO NOT get a foam ring. The wax rings work much better to seal of the little gaps
I wouldnt use a foam ring . I would use wax ring without the vinyl insert. I would also grout the toilet in when i was finished and allow a day to set up to make sure you have a solid base for the toilet to sit on.You shouldnt have any leak issues again if you do that.
@@daviddoty8958 I can see why you said to get the wax ring without the insert. When I pulled my toilet off, the insert was covering half of the sewer pipe.
Is that DO DO ?????
Seems to me flange is still not solid to the sub-floor which will increases chances of toilet rocking and breaking off closet flange? Why not anchor flange to sub-floor?
THis is on a concrete floor. I have never seen a flange that is on a slab floor anchored to the concrete. And I have been Plumbing for 25 years, a Contractor for 20 years! ALso this toilet is Rock solid.
This method definitely works. You can also set the bolts on concrete by using quick bolts, and that'll make it rock solid, but it's Overkill.
Flange visibly moved at one minute mark and really moved up and down at two forty mark. Looks like pvc flange is inside glued to pipe, easy enough to remove broken flange and glue new one and secure to slab with tapcon screws. But than you wouldn't be selling many do it yourselfer repair kits that keep plumbers in business. lol
@@officerkrupke4966 Since flanges are put in after the concrete is poured and not before , there is usually insulation or something of the sort wrapped around the piping. Once you take that off to put a flange on there isnt any concrete to screw anything too. So instead of waiting for 24 hours for the PVC cement to cure we used this product. Seeing as they opened about 2 hours after this repair I think it was the right fix for the problem. And yeah its a lot more expensive to reset a new flange than it is to use this product to repair the old flange! I have been a Plumber for 25 years and owned a Plumbing business for 20 years and this job without the kit runs about $350-$500 depending on how hard the flange is to get out and if it goes directly into a 45 or 90 Degree fitting . So a $25-$30 repair kit is a lot cheaper than replacing the flange.
My hats off to you for putting all those years in the plumbing field. It pays well for a good reason, every homeowner hates doing it. You have plenty enough experience to make the calls on different situationsI am sure most homeowners or business owners choose the cheapest and fastest option.I have seen sellers have hvac guys fill their leaking ac units refusing to pay what it costs to find the leak and have it fixed because the house being sold. Leaving it for the next guy.I would not like to find something like that repair kit on a house I just bought. It would keep me up at night wondering about what kind of wiring repairs they did that's hidden behind the walls.Take care
What do you do when the bolts won't line up
IF the bolts are reversed on your flange you may have to break both rails to allow free movement of the bolts in the repair flange.
@@3dplumbingproductsllc844 Thank you when someone built the house for some reason the stool was not done properly so the holes will not line ☝
