I agree with an earlier comment that Tuesday's role as Thalia Menninger in "the Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" TV series in 1959 really should be mentioned, especially because her character seems very much like Tuesday's real life situation. "Thalia" was always saying that she came from a poor family and had an obligation to her family to marry someone with a lot of money, which "Dobie" didn't have.
Wasn't aware of Tuesday's alcohol problems, seems like she had a rocky life, but made the best of her circumstances. Tuesday was one gorgeous lady in her days of acting.
I really liked in "Looking For Mr. Goodbar." I wasn't aware of her troubles with alcohol. Thank you! This was very informative. ❤️😊 She definitely overcame her obstacles. She seems like a wonderful lady, inside and out.
I always had a crush on Tuesday Weld. I knew she was an alcoholic, but did not know about her affair at age 11. I am glad to hear that she finally found stability in her life.
I remember Tuesday Weld in 1959, when she played "Thalia Meniger" on "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis"! It's hard to imagine that she was only 16 then, since "Dobie", i.e. Dwayne Hickman was actually 24, playing a 17 yr.old! ( I met him when he was 70 in 2004 & he still looked young!) Although Tuesday Weld never made it to A-class leading ladies, she turned in entertaining & very sexy performances, that will be well remembered by millions!
Yes, I have to say that not mentioning her role in the "The Many Lives of Dobie Gillis" is a serious omission from this biography. Weld appeared in 17 episodes of the show, most of them in the first season, which gave her more public exposure that any of her other early movie or TV roles. (One of the other co-stars that first season was a young Warren Beatty.) It's too bad the series seems to be largely forgotten, as the shows were quite well-written and perceptive. One of the streaming services should give it a shot.
I'm not sure where everybody is getting this "17 year-old Dobie Gillis" stuff from! If you've ever seen the first episode of the show, Hickman (as Gillis) looks directly at the camera and explains he did a stint in the U.S. Army, then enrolled in college after his discharge on the G.I. Bill! It's right there, people! Now, stop it!
@@cocoaorange1 The entire season 1 is on RUclips - all 39 episodes! Seeing Tuesday Weld, along with Dwayne Hickman, a pre-Gilligan Bob Denver, and Warren Beatty, definitely makes this season binge-worthy!
Her story is a pure example of how you turn lemons into lemonade! She has responded with dignity, courage and fearlessness in the face of great tragedy. People with such tenacity are plentiful and many don't discover it until they see it in someone real like Tuesday Weld!
What a Beauty! She seems to always try to remain low key, real fighter as she survived despite a horrible childhood.Knew she adored Elvis and they were close for a time
I didn’t know about her alcohol abuse at 10 or affair at 11. This is so tragic! 🥺 It’s a wonder she survived all this and able to perform at all! What a Face! The girl next door on Dobie Gillis and Ozzie and Harriet. She certainly had the talent along with her looks! Good Video! Thanks but another sad story of a beautiful girl taken advantage of by the Hollywood Grinder and her own mother. 🙁
I'm a big fan of Tuesday Weld. She was a great UberBabe.! That's interesting that she was married to Dudley Moore ! I did not know that ! I enjoyed her co-starring with Warren Beatty in "Dopey" - I mean "Dobie Gillis", which was a good show. Her movie, "Lord Love a Duck" is one of my all time favorites !
One of my favorite actresses. She starred in "Soldier In The Rain" along with Jackie Gleason and Steve McQueen. This a very underrated and excellent movie. All three stars did a great job
There were certain actors whom "the camera loved" and there was no such thing as a "bad angle." Tuesday Weld was one of them. I've known numerous girls and women who were "drop-dead gorgeous" in real life, but who just didn't quite "make the grade" when photographed. Also, I'm not surprised at her series of failed marriages. Child stars and models seldom do well in the long run. I hope she finally found happiness.
Absolutely, we feel the same way! Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
My favorites are Lord Love a Duck, still a classic, and Pretty Poison which gave me a nightmare as a kid. She's also wonderful in The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis.
Actually, Raquel Welch was pretty much a "nothing burger" as far as talent was concerned. Like Jane Russel, Jayne Mansfield, Mamie Van Doren, and Adrienne Barbeau. Just big boobs when it was time for Hollywood to produce the next set of knockers. Who's next? Certainly not a white woman!
@@IMBrute-ir7gz I don't think it matters whether she was Meryl Streep or not. I wouldn't want to stare at Meryl Streep for 2 hours. No offense to Meryl streep. Marilyn Monroe might have been the one exception but I think Raquel was a little more talented than you think.

So sad! But life isn’t fair! And for poor people it’s even worse! Taken advantage by everyone! I hope she has found love and peace.. I wish for her that she has everything that she deserves now. I love her beauty…. And a beautiful person is always beautiful!!!
Tuesday Weld is my favorite actress. I disagree, I think her best roles were in the 1960s, up to 1970, at least as far as her radiant beauty and intangible quality--a spirit lacking in other beautiful contemporary actresses, such as Yvette Mimieux and Carol Linley, although I also quite liked Yvette. Other favorite actresses of that time were Jean Seberg, especially in Lilith, with Warren Beatty (now, she had a tragic life), Sophia Loren and Kim Novak. My favorites of Tuesday's films are The Cincinnati Kid, Soldier in the Rain (both with Steve McQueen), Lord Love a Duck, Pretty Poison (the first of two costarring with Anthony Perkins), and I Walk the Line, with Gregory Peck (1970). You could have also mentioned she was in Theif (1981), starring James Caan, I would have to question saying that she had an affair at 11. That would be child rape, not an affair. Perhaps one example of why, when asked why she turned down the role of Lolita, she reportedly replied, "I don't have to play Lolita. I am Lolita."
Drinking at such an early age can cause any number of physical/psychoogical problems. How can an 11 yr.old have this very premature sex without doing major harm to her private parts.
I know someone, who looks "exactly" like her. But she doesn't get, how perfect she is, and considers getting her things enlarged.. Besides the risk of health, what if she's "just" unlucky with the results? So sad to watch from a distance, but my advice is like water on a goose.

What a shame. When I watched her on Dobie Gillis I thought she must have a wonderful life 🐎 Her mother was cruel. Lack of $ made her cruel and insensitive to her poor child, Tuesday Weld, which I always admired on Dobie Gillis 🐎
Yep. Tuesday was the unfortunate role model for the likes of Tatum O'Neal an Drew Barrymore. Total alcoholic and romance scandals by the age of 8 for alcohol and 13 for sexual scandal. Multiple marriages and troubles. Thankfully Drew grew up healthy. Tatum too, but only after leaving Hollywood behind.
So, I decided to read an article on the clavicle, which shows an inconclusive "theory" between men and women. 89% possibilities means 8.9 out of 10 show that 1.1 out of 10 chances that the "theory" show otherwise.
