Her contribution will never be forgotten! Especially for those who were there when “Grease” was birth. Beautiful woman, Beautiful Music. RIP, Olivia Newton- John
I was there. 15 years old and she had me at hello. Catholic school boy meets Olivia Newton John via Grease. Did not know a woman could be made to be so beautiful. All the girls in high school or at least the ones that could pull it off without feeling like an outcast dressed like her in those black pants and that blonde hair. And I went to a Catholic high school with nuns and priests. Hey it was 1978 and they had just started allowing the girls to wear pants the year before. The one that did it flawlessly was M. Fuerst. She was a doppleganger for sure. Academically inclined, very pretty, with just the right hint of slut to her without making it too raunchy because you knew she was not putting out but she knew how to advertise without showing any flesh and still had a Catholic school pureness about her. She was our Olivia and she was nice too. R.I.H. You changed a generation.
I remember my mum was working 2 jobs back then, we had no money but she worked extra shifts to save some cash and she took me and my brother to watch Grease. We queued up (me and my brother in our "Starskey and Hutch" cardigans she had knitted us for our birthday) we had popcorn, cokes and hot dogs. Until later, I never realised the sacrifice she made for us two at that time, to give us a special night out as a family. We sat together and watched Grease and it's one of my most treasured memories. Cancer came for my Mum a short while after, I think she knew she was ill and the clock was ticking. Thanks Mum.x.

There's tons of shows now a days and movies that have people in their late twenties and even in their thirties playing teenagers. Also back in the 50s most of the teenagers and young adults looked way older then they really were. Just search up some photos from that time. My great grandfather was in the first world war, and a photo was taken just before he went off. In the photo he looked in his mid twenties, but he was actually 15 turning 16. He enlisted young, as did many under age kids back then. But they were accepted because they looked old enough to pass as such. (of course they need the man power too, but they weren't supposed to accept under age kids.)

LYRICS
Summer loving had me a blast
Summer loving happened so fast
I met a girl crazy for me
Met a boy cute as can be
Summer days drifting away to oh oh the summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more
Did you get very far
Tell me more, tell me more
Like does he have a car
She swam by me she got a cramp
He ran by me got my suit damp
I saved her life she nearly drowned
He showed off splashing around
Summer sun somethings begun but oh oh the summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more
Was it love at first sight?
Tell me more, tell me more
Did she put up a fight?
Took her bowling in the arcade
We went strolling drank lemonade
We made out under the dock
We stayed out till 10 o'clock
Summer fling don't mean a thing but oh oh the summer nights.
Tell me more, tell me more
But you don't gotta brag
Tell me more, tell me more
Cause he sounds like a drag
He got friendly holding my hand
She got friendly down in the sand
He was sweet just turned eighteen
Well she was good you know what I mean
Summer heat boy and girl meet but oh oh the summer nights.
Tell me more, tell me more
How much dough did he spend?
Tell me more, tell me more
Could she get me a friend?
It turned colder that's where it ends
So I told her we'd still be friends
Then we made our true love vow
Wonder what she's doing now
Summer dreams ripped at the seams but oh those summer nights

Thank you!!!
Thanks
R.I.P. Olivia Newton-John
1948-2022
She was 29 when this movie came out, she really could’ve passed as a high schooler
Rip
@@AcidHead710 John Travolta was 24
I’m an 30 yo Asian boy and just found this. I can see how awesome to have lived in such era !
@user-tz1zo6nu3n 1959
@user-tz1zo6nu3n Either one is better than now
Not for you. You wouldn't have been allowed to attend the same school.
This movie was filmed in the 70s, and it is not accurate to what the 50s were like. Its a fantasy....
Good old days for sure
Brain: tell me more, TELL ME MORE
me: fine i’ll watch the clip calm down
ME TOOOOOO
Same
it do be like that
Same!!!! Lol
It’s true
RIP Olivia. this song perfectly embodies what the "honeymoon" phase of a new relationship feels like
Sandy’s song: I met a boy and it was so romantic!
Danny’s song: I got laid!
LOL
Hilarious
My mom always said she loved the comedic contrast.
Right? LOL! 2 different perspectives. A realist & a fantasy.
That's the point lol
Summer Nights won't be the same without you Olivia. You may be gone but you will live forever in Grease. RIP
3:02 when you microwave a banana and it's too hot to eat
SevSec this fucking comment killed me
Yeah, I'd know exactly about that... No. Actually, I wouldn't. Why would you microwave a banana??
w h a t
You literally got me Rofl 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@mar_speedman theres this type of banana called plantain. it's very big. When its first harvested, it seems dry and uncooked, but if u heat it up later on, it will be sweeter and softer. ;D

Never realized how dirty this song was when I was younger lol
+srt42893 I've always been curious: Is "bowling in the arcade" a euphamism for something?
+Glitch_Crazed Well, she did stay out until 10.
True
+Glitch_Crazed well saving her life from almost drowning wasn't exactly sexual lol mostly making out under the docks, getting friendly in the sand and the hip thrusts lol
FUCK SAME I realized it today actually and I was like jesus christ what
Olivia is so radiant in some of these scenes that you can’t help keeping your eyes only on her. The other actors literally are the frame around her!!
0:57 me going downstairs when my amzon package finally arrives.
No that’s me coming out my room once the food is done cooking 💀
Me coming down the stairs to mom when the guests are gone

Olivia Newton-John’s voice on the ending of this one always gives me chills.
Pretty sure John Travolta is the true culprit, here. lol

Jeez, how many years were these kids held back?? World's oldest teenagers...
John Travolta was 23, Olivia Newton John was 29, Stockard Channing 33, Jeff Conaway 27, Barry Pearl 27, Michael Tucci 31, Kelly Ward 21, Didi Conn 26, Jamie Donnely 30, Dinah Menoff 21. :)
They weren’t as old as you think it’s the haircut
sandy was thirty lolz
There's tons of shows now a days and movies that have people in their late twenties and even in their thirties playing teenagers. Also back in the 50s most of the teenagers and young adults looked way older then they really were. Just search up some photos from that time. My great grandfather was in the first world war, and a photo was taken just before he went off. In the photo he looked in his mid twenties, but he was actually 15 turning 16. He enlisted young, as did many under age kids back then. But they were accepted because they looked old enough to pass as such. (of course they need the man power too, but they weren't supposed to accept under age kids.)
RIGHT

Check the important things first: "Does he have a car?"
American as can be.
I think you mean as white girl.
Lyrics: LIKE does he have a car?
"How much dough did he spend?" I think is worse 😂
It was a big deal in the '50s for a high school kid to have a car.
I would argue it still is.
RetroRaver 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I did this dance with my class for summer break! This song and dance that I did will never be forgotten!!!!😢❤❤
