    Great photos, especially like the one with the trees framing the street lamp with the steps up to the house behind, and the front on photo of Jeff's tyres, I like that you can see the different textures of the pavement in front reflecting the shop's light differently. I went out recently with a friend to do some night photography, had a similar issue with the built in light meter. At first I thought it was working fine until I realised the needle was moving the same as when the meter was off. My Weston meter wasn't of much use either, fortunately my friend had a light meter app on his phone which was really helpful when neither of my meters could register.

      Thank you for the kind words. And yeah I have been surprised to see these light meter apps perform so well, especially for nighttime photography. That's all I've been using for the past 2-3 years now.

      I tend to have to come back to it at least once a month. Shifts the way you look at things and helps me break out of any sort of box I may put myself in. Love the colors as well!

    Yes! It has been a while for nighttime work. I remember some of your earliest videos on the channel featured great dusk and night photographs. This looks like a great place to visit. Put up the Brae and Alicia pub review and I'll be up there in a minute. (Nick Carver is a wealth of information, too! I've watched every video he has on the channel). Cheers!

      Thank you, Bob! I definitely want to continue the nighttime work at least once per month here on the channel. It is a great time. Pub review on the way 😎
      And Nick is the best! Have learned a lot from watching his videos as well.

    Full on side shot of the Town Car for the win. Arborist = trees. Which I am sure you are going to get a bazillion times. Thanks for your video and the effort you took to make it.

    Nice stuff, Brae! You've inspired me to try some night photography. Except I'd need some bodyguards to go with me. Nighttime ain't too safe these days here in Charm City. LOL. Actually, not funny.

      Thank you, Gary! And I definitely understand. Seems like it is a consistent theme throughout the US. I find myself avoiding more and more areas these days, especially when shooting alone.

    i think jeff's tires photo looks great with a black sky. especially with those lights. i like the vibe, it's like you walk at night and jeff's tires is the only place that you can find open lol but i agree with you about 6x17

    Brea, you got on this one. My old neighborhood when I was younger, and I was waiting for you to come upon a bunch of "youth" at a kegger at one of the houses on Union Street!
    A panorama kit for your Pentax 67 and some 35mm film would do Jeff's Tires justice.....

      @BraeHunziker  2 года назад

      Thanks Tod! Certainly had it been a Friday or Saturday night I would have come across a scene like that haha. I actually forgot that I have the 35mm kit for my Pentax 67ii. Waiting for it to get back from the repair shop then I'll have to give it a try! Cheers.

    Great video! How did you work out the reciprocity for portra 800? Did you use the same as portra 400? I haven't been able to find info on portra 800s reciprocity since kodak doesn't recommend shooting longer than 1sec

    • @BraeHunziker

    Great video! Question: if the Bronica SA does not have mirror lock up, how are you able to get 8s exposures with out the shake of the mirror opening and closing? is a pretty heavy mirror right?

    • @BraeHunziker
      @BraeHunziker  Год назад +1

      You'd notice it more in the 1/15th - 2 second shutter range. 8 seconds is typically long enough to avoid rendering the micro jitters into the negative. I haven't had an issue with it!

    Colors look great, but why are you composing so low? The photo you liked of the Lincoln under the tree and the one you really liked of the house would've looked so much better with the top of the trees in the frame instead negative space at the bottom.
