You guys are cringe, stop bringing up Chester every second. His legacy/crown is already done. She is creating and carrying her own legacy on this new era of LP. If anything it is Mike Shinoda the mastermind who has the crown and that's why LP will still have its "LP style".
@@aiden4016 It's both. It's T1 with the "crown" (the world champions of 2023 with huge history) and it's Linkin Park with its crown and when she says "this is what you asked for" is her basically proving she is fit to continue the role of Chester. This is why this song is basically Faint, Given Up and New Divide all mixed together. It's her performing the old style as proof of her worth wearing that crown. So it's a really great mix of both LoL eSports and Linkin Park at present time. Everyone is coming after the T1 Legacy and Linkin Park coming after a new hiatus to claim new heights with their music. I care a lot more about the League side of things but the parallels with Linkin Park are just too bold and it makes it all even better., especially for someone like me who really like Linkin Park (not a massive fan but I like their music).
That 16 seconds of screaming were personal hahaha it’s almost like she was telling the audience who didn’t like her "You want a long scream like Chester's? Then here you go!"
It's kept in all through the song if you listen to her parts, they add an effect or volume to her breaths at the end of certain lines, even accentuated in parts I believe? Seems like they wanted to make the vocals more 'raw/real', and I love it
Mike Shinoda never disappoints! He meant it when he said they're going back to their roots. I can tell why he chose Emily, she's incredibly talented and can sing the different styles of songs that LP has. So glad LP are back.
I noticed that inhale too right after the long-ass scream, and it's an absolutely awesome detail to keep in the mix! I can also see it as a flex, showing off her skills, doing the bridge into the last chorus in seemingly one take
Mike always wrote all lyrics and with Han and the other guy which name I don’t remember they composed all the music. So it’s their sound. It’s their creation and always has been that’s why is the same sound fortunately! I just love that their back! And welcome Emily ❤ love your voice! You’re fire 🔥
In contrast to "Given up" she has no time to breathe before the scream, she even sings "this is what you asked" before the "fooooooooor". They played the song at the end of their show in Hamburg with a slightly shorter scream ... after 110 minutes of singing. Impressive af.
She doesn't really need to breathe. A fry scream takes less air than singing, which is how these super long screams can be done. She doesn't need a big breath to "power" the scream. She's not really singing before the scream. She's almost fry screaming without the chords fully engaged. Keep the diaphragm engaged, find your vocal fold position that engages your grit and force a lot of air through those squeezed chords to go from grit to full fry scream. (Still freaking amazing because while I believe everyone can scream, not everyone is a world class vocalist like her)
Chesters screams were fuller. They utilise different techniques I think. Chester had more impact. Plus when Chester used to scream, there were three different sounds coming from his throat. If you listen to Makings of the albums, Mike and others discuss this aspect of his voice. Mike is a genius songwriter, he will bring the best out of any singer with talent. Chester used to sing like Scott Weiland coz he trained listening to Scott a lot. Mike pushed him to break out of that mould and become Chester.
@@pratyushvaibhav8718 They don't want Emily to be a clone of Chester (which , apparently, you seem to want). That would make ZERO sense. Her screams are VERY impactful. Try not to compare everything she sings to Chester. It's not only annoying, it's stupid. This is Emily, not Chester. Get over it.
@@jasonbodden8816 nope. I am just telling the people who are saying she can scream better than Chester that the techniques are different. She can scream and sing. She will do justice to her songs but when she does Chester's songs, you feel the difference in the level. He could somehow inject emotions in screams too. Listen to her version of Numb and listen to Chester's version live on his worst day, you will feel the emotions. Singing is not just hitting the correct notes and screams. However, I will also say that on her original songs, I can't feel that Chester is missing. She has totally cracked the feel of the two songs. I am also saying that if you give a skilled singer to a prolific song writer like Mike Shinoda, he will write bangers. Global tournament to wrap up the competitive year, like world cup soccer. $2.25 million prize pool. Like others have said, the player who puts the crown down is Lee Sang-hyeok (Faker) the undisputed greatest player of all time. He lead his team to world champion in his rookie year in 2013 and has won it a total of 4 times, including last year, which makes them the defending champions. Unbelievably dominant career. But the entire tournament is very hype and all 20 participating teams are exceptionally talented. It has already begun and runs until November 2nd, culminating in the grand finals. Check it out!
It seems hard at this point to give Mike and the others their deserved credit. For some, acknowledging just how much of a talent Mike is and how much of the iconic Linkin Park sound is his doing, will always come at Chester's expense and it shouldn't. We're never getting Chester back and that sucks, but recognizing and appreciating the talents and music of those that remained and joined does NOT diminish Chester's talent and contributions over the years. It's just a damned shame depression claimed him. In the meantime, I like this stuff they've put out and think Collin the new drummer is great and Emily fits right in. I HOPE they don't feel constrained by their prior legacy and are able to utilize her unique voice for cool stuff rather than her feel forced to emulate a style not quite her own, but so far I think it's worked out as best as anyone could hope for musically.
What do you mean you can't hear the breath in the mix? I love that they left it in but you can VERY MUCH tell it's there. It's not like it's buried lol. It's super clear! LOL.
Oh yeah, The Hunting Party is GREAT. So is Living Things, and I really like A Thousand Suns as well. And of course, Mike is producing this album too, guy is just a got dang legend. But yeah, she does the long ass scream and picks it right back up live too. She’s a BEAST. And I think your comments about production choices are really interesting! Will subscribe.
1:30 - i think in that particular case it's "ft. LP" because the main product is Worlds 2024 cinematic. Though it is weird, since they usually put "ft." when its Riot Music written and produced music, performed by singers they invite.
@@mif4731 "Warriors" (and "Enemy") - yes, ID have the rights. "Gods" - no, it was was written, produced, etc. by Riot Music and is IP owned by Riot Music and Alex "Mako" Seaver (writer and producer @ Riot)
leauge of legends is a MOBA that was based off a WOW mod called DOTA. Every year since 2014, for their biggest professional tournament Worlds they release a song. Imagine Dragon warriors was the first one. They work with a lot of different artists in many different genes. 2022 was Lil Nas X and last year was a kpop group called New Jeans.
League of Legends is a team 5 vs 5 team based player vs player game. That's why there's a tournament for it. It surpassed major league baseball in viewership years ago, and is most popular in Korea and China. It's hero based, meaning there is a pool of preset characters (called champions) you choose from to play the game and fight against other people with. The characters you see in this video are actually the professional players who mostly regularly make it to the top of the World Championship, using the tool kits of some of their signature champions from the game. Most notably, the person that comes walking out of the gate near the end after Emily's long scream is a Korean player who goes by the name Faker. Faker is famous for winning the most World Championships out of any player in the history of League of Legends history. There's actually a lot of music associated with League of Legends, from all varieties of different genres. Riot Games has been branching out as sort of a multi media company that focuses on games and making media focused around their League of Legends IP. There's even a Netflix series called Arcane, which is considered one of the best cinematic adaptations of a video game franchise to ever be made. It's actually pretty good. There's a lot to check out with League of Legends and Riot Games, even just outside of the main game itself.
It is driving me nuts trying to figure out what the string part in the beginning and throughout the song is sampled from. It sounds so familiar but I can't put my finger on it.
it's worth noting Riot (the company behind League of Legends) does A LOT of in house music and collabs with tons of artists. i would be shocked if Riot didn't have a part in the composition, mixing and lyrics.
The “ heavy is the crown ft linkin park” I believe is because riot commissions the songs. This isn’t linkin parks song and they were like yeah cool let’s use that. Riot commissions there world songs so it was written collaboratively with Linkin park to both fit with the previous worlds story and be something fitting to the band.
With the way it's mixed, it still sounds like the breath is a punch-in into the chorus, but that's just me. It could be the vocal effects bleeding over the breath that make it sound that way to me. Linkin Park was never really on the wave of ducking breath sounds and even the late great Chester has footage of him punching in the bigger screams on stuff like No More Sorrow.
I use this to separate tracks www.lalal.ai/?fp_ref=alan-43 But I am using logic and I have the tracks already on patreon for free the link is in description
Damn, I've never seen the production side of music broken down and dissected like this. Makes me feel like a real idiot haha That software program seems impressive.
Recruiting a woman was the obvious choice for their sound. Not that Chester had a feminine voice, he just had a very unique voice with a certain pitch and rasp that not many men can match. Emily has that rasp similar to Chester's that I think fits the band's sound very well and I'm here for LP 2.0 all the way.
I'm not familiar with the game and so because of that, seeing what looks like a prepubescent teenager in glasses step through those heavy doors when the music pauses is pretty underwhelming and goofy to me, but after reading some comments I guess I can see why the nerds & gamers would get off on it. I'm here for the music and to be warmed by Emily's 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
So league is 5v5 team based game, Worlds is basicaly a lol World Cup. The people in the video are pro players with weapons of playable characters. While the people attacking the castle are all from different teams, the 5 people defending are from T1, they won last years Worlds. The guy who joined them last is Faker. Hes considered not only the greatest lol player ever, but pro gamer overall.
So League of Legends is basically one of the biggest games in the world and they have a yearly world championship where part of the marketing is commissioning an artist to make a song for the event, some of the more notable artists from previous years include Imagine dragons and Zedd. Also amazing video, this was the best reaction and breakdown I've seen so far, going into isolating the different parts of the track giving the song the attention and love it deserves was great 🔥 you're the only person I've seen so far point out the inhale after the scream, and also mentioning the bass part, which is something Linkin Park does alot, randomly sprinkling catchy bass riffs in their songs. It happens in the final chorus of Crawling, it happens only once and never again in that song, Im obsessed with that and im glad someone else finally pointed it out. Great video, definitely checking out future reactions and vids 💯
It doesn't make sense for a white-haired girl to stand out more than players. It doesn't mean that Faker is the only one who has to be the main character. The problem is that the players seem to be used to float Linkin Park. I just don't understand why that white-haired girl keeps coming out😂
The white-haired girl keeps coming out, because that is the new main vocalist of Linkin Park. The song is just as much about her taking up the mantle of a beloved departed singer/screamer in Chester Bennington, as it is the GOAT Faker defending his year-long title. That is why they parallel scream at the end as well. They're both the protagonists of this song if you will, one on the LoL side, and one on the LP side. This song was written by Linkin Park not specifically as the 2024 anthem. Riot just made it their anthem. LoL fans don't seem to get that and are salty the group that wrote and then happily allowed this song as the LoL anthem is featured in the video? Yeah, you need to acquire some context.
League of Legends is nothing like what youre seeing on your screen, its a meme in the community that the World Music Videos and the Season Cinematics are INSANELY well produced and scored, but the game is absolutely nothing like what you see on your screen with the amazing animations 🤣
If you are a fans of FAKER, you should hate this MV. The singers were not present in previous MVs. This year, the singers appeared longer than the T1 contestants. They simply took over the spotlight. Moreover, the entire MV has no story at all. Really What T1 fans are looking forward to is a story about the fall of Dynasty in 2017, stumbling for several years, and even not being able to enter the World Championship for two years, so he could only be a spectator on the sidelines, to being defeated by DEFT in the finals in 2022, and then defeating RULER in 2023. , the process of resurrecting from the ashes and regaining the throne, this MV has nothing to do with it.

Im a huge league of legends fan, eespecially a T1 / Faker Fan, the team in this Song, but i love everything you mentioned in this song a musician
Any previous doubters refer to Heavy Is The Crown
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
What do you mean you can't hear the breath in the mix? I love that they left it in but you can VERY MUCH tell it's there. It's not like it's buried lol. It's super clear! LOL.
Oh yeah, The Hunting Party is GREAT. So is Living Things, and I really like A Thousand Suns as well.
And of course, Mike is producing this album too, guy is just a got dang legend.
But yeah, she does the long ass scream and picks it right back up live too. She’s a BEAST.
And I think your comments about production choices are really interesting! Will subscribe.
this shit definitely insta classic linkin park GODDAMN!!!
7:23-8:15 HOLY CRAP
1:30 - i think in that particular case it's "ft. LP" because the main product is Worlds 2024 cinematic. Though it is weird, since they usually put "ft." when its Riot Music written and produced music, performed by singers they invite.
It's like that with Warriors and the last years song too.
@@mif4731 "Warriors" (and "Enemy") - yes, ID have the rights. "Gods" - no, it was was written, produced, etc. by Riot Music and is IP owned by Riot Music and Alex "Mako" Seaver (writer and producer @ Riot)
I can definitely hear her take that big breath 1st time I heard it. 😊😊😊
This is great
As a league fan youre reaction was awesome
Worlds24 is the esport world cup of league of legends. all the people in vid are players (team leaders) of the pro teams in LoL OR are Linkin Park.
leauge of legends is a MOBA that was based off a WOW mod called DOTA. Every year since 2014, for their biggest professional tournament Worlds they release a song. Imagine Dragon warriors was the first one. They work with a lot of different artists in many different genes. 2022 was Lil Nas X and last year was a kpop group called New Jeans.
Not WoW. Warcraft yes, but not WoW lol
Check out the latest concert in London She screaming same in Music Video
It is driving me nuts trying to figure out what the string part in the beginning and throughout the song is sampled from. It sounds so familiar but I can't put my finger on it.
Faint
08:02 YES! I loved it too! ... normally it would be a cut? I guess so
Ahhh! of course they wanted to prove that she did it that way!
Chech Emily out in the song Sorry For It All by Dead Sara. I am even more excited to see what they do. She's got a very beautiful voice.
"Heavy is the Crown" surely defining the perceptions of taking on the role after Chester
Love hearing uour perspective! I’ve been getting interested in music production - how did you seperate the tracks? Can your software just do that?
it's worth noting Riot (the company behind League of Legends) does A LOT of in house music and collabs with tons of artists. i would be shocked if Riot didn't have a part in the composition, mixing and lyrics.
You should do more reacts of league of legs songs.
Very nice shirt you have there... 🤘
Emily did say to haters: This is what you asked for🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🖕🏻...... So freaking awesome 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Linkin Park was never really on the wave of ducking breath sounds and even the late great Chester has footage of him punching in the bigger screams on stuff like No More Sorrow.
how did u get the stems for the song ?
Hey man I use this to get my stems for everything www.lalal.ai/?fp_ref=alan-43
whats the music programme you are using on this video to capture the music, dude???
I use this to separate tracks www.lalal.ai/?fp_ref=alan-43
But I am using logic and I have the tracks already on patreon for free the link is in description
Damn, I've never seen the production side of music broken down and dissected like this. Makes me feel like a real idiot haha That software program seems impressive.
I can listen to the breath there
Maybe cuz I’m listening for the 100th time
You should check out some Pentakill songs
😮😮😮😮
Recruiting a woman was the obvious choice for their sound. Not that Chester had a feminine voice, he just had a very unique voice with a certain pitch and rasp that not many men can match. Emily has that rasp similar to Chester's that I think fits the band's sound very well and I'm here for LP 2.0 all the way.
Also, it almost feels like a respectful nod to Chester that her scream is exactly one second less than his scream in Given Up. I love it. 🩵
How do you have all the layers to the track like that? What music magic is this?
Logic Pro, or similar tools
This is what I use separate tracks to any song www.lalal.ai/?fp_ref=alan-43
Well of course it sounds like LP. Mike composed a lot of those older songs.
FAKER, MIKE AND EMILY ARE GOAT
Whent the song stop is because the video focus on FAKER is the Lionel Messi of League of Leguends
Nice video. I’m loving this song! How do you get the tracks where you can isolate them and stuff? Seems pretty awesome
I use this program to split everything www.lalal.ai/?fp_ref=alan-43
@@dicodec thank you!
I'm not familiar with the game and so because of that, seeing what looks like a prepubescent teenager in glasses step through those heavy doors when the music pauses is pretty underwhelming and goofy to me, but after reading some comments I guess I can see why the nerds & gamers would get off on it.
I'm here for the music and to be warmed by Emily's 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
and not Heavy is the Crown by Daughtry
Great video, definitely checking out future reactions and vids 💯
should we recommened him the pentakill guys?
sure
I don't want to compare Emily to Chester but she sounds just like him except better. Just Kidding. kind of.
Its just a piece if FAINT song by chester..lol
Bro doesn't know Riot is actually a music company that makes games on the side button >>>
It doesn't make sense for a white-haired girl to stand out more than players. It doesn't mean that Faker is the only one who has to be the main character. The problem is that the players seem to be used to float Linkin Park.
I just don't understand why that white-haired girl keeps coming out😂
Did Linkin Park win the Worlds?
League of legends is a "game" that claims they make a video game but it is a front to make awesome videos and songs.
League of Legends is quite possibly the worst game ever made but this song goes hard asf 🔥
Mike wrote a majority of the songs not Chester so people give too much credit to Chester.
Its useless to tell you about league of legends...
Why should he care about LoL 😂 he is a musician
The winner of the Worlds Championship 2023 was Linkin Park
What does that even mean
@@dicodec that linkin park is more in the video then the last year finalists, what not the point i guess :D
I still don't get it lol
@@jakemuller8626 this is not the official MV, its an trailer. imagine 50% of the avengers trailer we see just LP.
so i dont care, i love this :D
@@dicodec A weird comment that Koreans are copy-pasting everywhere because their god, Faker (the guy holding the crown), is not portrayed enough. :D
League of Legends is nothing like what youre seeing on your screen, its a meme in the community that the World Music Videos and the Season Cinematics are INSANELY well produced and scored, but the game is absolutely nothing like what you see on your screen with the amazing animations 🤣
Emily female version of chester
