I think one thing that´s often forgotten is the fact that all our main characters are young adults around 20. They are so inexperienced in many senses and are tasked with the biggest problems right now. Also each of them have suffered by each others hand. Cait's family is partially responsible for the suffering of Zaun, Jinx killed Cait's mom, Vi helped create Jinx, Powder killed Vi's friends and so on. That's probably why this show is so good, because you can understand how everything came to pass and why people act the way they do. Although I am still sad that Vi and Cait split the very episode they kissed.
Given the circumstances, theres a chance that kiss from caitlyn was entirely manipulative. I mean, think about it, in that position, what makes that *THE* moment?
Makes sense they split tho. If it was a build up to something good they probably would let it happen later on in the story. Instead they use it to excell the meltdown between them.
@@elizabethwinterveil9950 Bro, now people are just reaching. Caitlyn might be blindsided by her rage, but she's never been manipulative. It would make no sense for the writers to suddenly make her. It's been hinted before that this is not their first kiss.
You're absolutely right about Vi protecting the kid and that Caitlyn WOULD've missed the shot: 1 - Vi let Cait take the shot straight into Jinx's head when she thought it was the real her - Caitlyn was the one that missed it on a trick. 2 - She had already missed another *better* chance on a finger as you pointed out. We saw she was going for a lethal shot before and after, her shooting a finger wasn't her intention by any means, even if she was aiming higher for Vi's safety or something, she would've *at least* shot her trigger finger not the middle one. 3 - There's the malfunctioning of the hextec weapons that Cait actually noticed - she used it to win over Sevika - and didn't know when it would happen again. She didn't care. 4 - Mind you they made a point to put a really quick frame of Cait's POV when she was aiming - in that you can see she aimed for her head and you can also see that the child's head is perfectly lined up with Jinx's, had Vi not blocked it, would've been a double kill. 5 - Even with a level head that was a much more difficult shot than any we see her take the entire show. All the shots we see her taking are either at objects or unaware targets - the competition with Grayson and Sevika when she wasn't expecting - that's entirely different than shooting a moving target that is completely interwined in another person trying to actively block your shot. Caitlyn is an excellent shot, not a perfect one. She ended up shooting Vi because she moved to block, the same would've happen with the kid.
There's a cool parallel with Mel and Ambessa here. In season 1 Mel basically put Jayce on the spot by elevating him to councillor to get what she wanted. Ambessa pulls the same move here with Cait. It's very interesting how Mel was exactly like her mom right up until the moment her mom showed up and then did a full 180.
I know people say vi could just grab the kid but I think vi didnt want to let the kid watch jinx die, since she saw how the kid really cares about jinx. She knows what it feels like as a kid to watch someone you care about die. The kid also caring that much about jinx probably humanized her more to vi.
I definitely see it as Vi wanting to prevent cait from doing something she would regret/bettaying her own moral code because it would fundamentally change her as a person
I interpret it as having a change of heart about her sister, the way the kid protected Jinx reminded her of when she did the same for Vander and she couldn't go through with it.
@anitaremenarova6662 that too. I guess I was also thinking about earlier in the arc where Vi asks Cait not to change kind of like treating her as her anchor
For some reason it didn't occur to me that Jinx's line of "To finish off what's left of my family" included herself as well. Also, a small subtle growth for Vi here. When she was with Jayce and he killed a child, she was rationalizing the fuck out of it, but he did do it. I do wish she mentioned Jayce here just to... I dunno, jog Caitlyn out of her rage.
They really gave my girl the Dictator Cape(TM). Damn. And I'm sure there's no parallel being made to the third episode of season 1 with someone lashing out and knocking the other to the ground, having a brief moment of regret before the first person walks away from the other and leaves them crying on their knees. Nope. I'm sure that's all just one big coincidence. I'm sure the writers of this show would never do something so evil. Salo really made sure that he never got control of Ambessa's army when he mentioned how powerful the Kirammans were. So looking forward to Ambessa weaponizing Cait's anger and grief by turning her into the wolf she always wanted Mel to be. She really looked at Cait's mom dying and said "free real estate." No but seriously, I'm so excited for Caitlyn's downward spiral. My favorite thing about Cait in the first season was her compassion and ability to empathize. Now, I'm very interested to see what she can hold onto, and what it'll take to get her to start clawing her way back up.
29:27 On that note, keep in mind that Caitlyn was telling Vi to move but couldn’t care less if the child moved. If she was so confident in her shot, why would she bother telling Vi to move? The child’s head was literally right next to Jinx’s, so if she was worried about Vi, who was maybe 2 metres away, you’d think she’d have a modicum of concern for the kid. Not to mention that her hextech-empowered shots now have a small explosive radius, meaning that even if she landed the shot perfectly, the kid would very likely still get hit by blast.
Jinx paints her nails Blue and Purple or Blue and Pink, The colours represent Powder and Jinx or Powder and Vi. Regardless the finger Caitlyn shot off was painted Powder Blue, In that scene it takes Jinx aback a few seconds, realizing what she lost. The Trailers and some posters do indicate she builds a prosthetic finger, that Zaun excels at building, but that particular finger did have significance to Jinx.
My favorite detail about the song during the fight and Wild Hexcore, "To Ashes and Blood" by Woodkid, is that the chanting is actually a conlang created for League of Legends, it's the language of Shuriman. The chanting is meant to be a prayer to the goddess that Jinx references in the abandoned temple.
Yes! I was waiting whole season 1 for at least some mention of Jan'ahrem. When I saw her temple and drawings this season I was so happy.. But when I learned that she was actually included in real song.. Damn riot are good
I know basically nothing about the drunk guy who joined the crew but I love him already, didn't fall for the war speech and just walked off presumably to join Vi once again. Hopefully we get more info from him.
Tbf drunkards are usually sign of someone either struggling or just an alcoholic. In theory, I’m going with the former and say that he probably recognized how Caitlyn is struggling with her emotions and knew Ambessa is exploiting those emotions or recognize that Caitlyn leading the charge in that emotional state will lead to more blood being spilled. That might be reach so the simple reason is that he probably just recognize how they’re treating this operation like a warzone, and when it comes to war, innocence aren’t safe from death.
@@blazingstorm9351 "Just an alcoholic" yeah because those don't have any issues that would've brought on said addiction He seems like a Zaunite but that doesn't explain what he was doing in Piltover near Caitlyn's house. Definitely an interesting fellow we'll hopefully get more of in act 2.
his big cape and attitude made me instantly think of him as "disillusioned former military drowning his thoughts in heavy drinking" type of guy, and his reactions to the whole ending of episode 3 felt in line with that to me.
@@cirederfsamot2730 This. He is most likely a former military guy. It is clearly they wanted to do more with him. And the rest of the team. He had to few scenes in the first 3 episodes, even just for a simple setup, almost never speaks too. Consequences of limited runtime of the show. FIrst 3 episodes could've been easily stretched in to 6 episodes. I have this feelings that initially story was planned take up 3 or even 4 seasons. And then they condensed it to 2 seasons because Riot weren't willing to give a bigger budget for it. So instead of sacrificing visuals for longer story, they decided to condense it.
@@Altmer353 well, from what I saw in the trailers and without saying anything more, he should not be entirely out of the picture yet, and I believe the same goes for the others (there would be no point in focusing on them during the end of épisode 3 otherwise). Arcane has not yet entirely dropped side characters. Even the old mustached key guy that Mel distracted in season 1 appeared again in the first epidode, so I'm not worried about that
Remember back in season 1 episode 5 Victor had a nosebleed and the blood went down the tunnel with all those other glowing hex tech stuff? That random splotch of “hex corruption” most likely came from Victor. So he’s been influenced long before the Hexcore “gained a body”.
@@Lin4ster not really but, most always liked caitlyn Most people with biases in season 1 disliked 2 characters the most, jinx or vi (I dont agree with that because both characters are amazing) but I didnt see anyone disliking caitlyn
30:30 Oh, of course she planned to die, she always plans to die. Let's not forget the scene where she fights Ekko in 1st season. She confirms it herself, 'Cause no matter what I do, I just can't seem to die.' It seems like she is a jinx to everyone around her except herself.
That Black Rose reveal with Amara was the biggest shock so far this season, in my opinion. And that’s saying something. We got the big trailer confrontation moment in ep 3. Like…what are the next six eps gonna be?! lol man this show is SO dope
I knew some people suspected they might be in this season from the trailer, so seeing Ambessa with a black rose in the intro made me do a fist pump. I'm so glad they involved them.
and it showed before when cait shot the dolls in the arcade and later in this ep shot through the metal shield which one of jinxs bullets pierced through, the hextech gun she has now is LETHAL and would definatly have gone through jinxs head to the kid who was on the other side, even if vi had lifted the kid bodily up it wouldve hit all 3 and had massive amounts of damage, even if cait had managed to shoot point blank. also when cait had shot jinxs finger off It didnt even bleed but rather had the blue residue and when that was shot her hand had been far away so cait had aimed up but she wasnt doing that anymore. vi couldve pulled the kid off but the kid was holding onto jinx so jinx wouldve been pulled too, but vi had realized cait wasnt in her right mind and wanted to stabilize the most dangerous element in the room at the time. she definatly hesitated but not to the extent she wouldve backed off, imo
Caitlyn's ultimate locks on to a target. Necrit's review points this out. She wouldn't have missed the shot, Vi just intercepted it like you can in the game
ok but i am shaking in my boots for Jayce & Viktor's fight Jayce has finally realized how bad he screwed up using the arcane like this, and he knows he has to stop Viktor meanwhile Viktor can finally cure others like he always wanted and will not submit to Jayce anymore
THIS! So much This. Ever since Riot advertised that they were making a show called Arcane and it would ve set in P&Z I have been ACHING to see a fight between Jayce and Viktor. Their rivalry has always been one of my favourite ones in league and FINALLY getting to see it on screen is soooooo goddamn exciting 🤩
I think to your point about Cait being rattled and off her game- the entire reason Jinx got away was Sevika, who Cait had just been fighting. Cait got tunnel vision on Jinx and it meant that she didn't properly restrain Sevika OR notice her moving to set off the trap until it was too late. Cait can blame Vi, but Jinx had given up she was trying to die by Vi's hand. I understand that Cait can't know that's sincere but the audience does and if we're fine with the argument that we know Cait wouldn't have missed, I also think we can say we know Jinx had already given up the fight.
Can I just say how sad it is how Maddie got caught up with the war speech, she genuinely wants to do good but is more on the naive side, she doesn’t fully understand the extent of it
I have to comment: I appreciate very much that you post edit your commentary to put parts together and acknowledge the mental state of Caitlyn particulalry, lore wise put the correct champ instead of Zyra and also the parts of Janna presence in ep. 2 - you are very observant. You took the time to understand and its so refreshing, honestly. Watching some talk about something you are also very heavily invested in just feels different than written words in comments. My god, I just hope for some tight writting for Cait and Vi and how they (hopefully) come together, for good.
Thank you! I see so many people putting the blame on Vi in that last moment when instead she wasn't protecting her sister, she was protecting the kid; especially with how unstable Cait is right now. AHHHH I love how everything makes complete sense in this show, it's so easy to do these things without actual character development and say "yeah sure whatever they do this then this happens" with so many other shows, but the character development allows all of these decisions make absolute sense. Although I do feel some parts are a bit rushed like the decision to use Hextech, there probably could have been more discussion and conflicted feelings imo, but it still makes sense for them to make that switch. I do wish they gave more development to the side characters though, as far as I can remember we only know 1-2 of their names. I'm a film major right now and this is a prime example of a show not doing the trap that so many others fall into. Telling the story where this happens, and then this happens, and then this happens. It's all about the why and how this action leads to the next. This show is genuinely better than any other show I have ever seen, live action or animated. Masterful writing.
She was protecting Jinx, it's not like she couldn't have moved the kid aside by force but seeing that she genuinely means this much to someone rattled her notion about how she's all evil now.
In addition to protecting Jinx and the girl, I think she's also trying to protect Cait from her own blind rage and grief, keeping her from doing something she'll almost certainly regret.
tbh for me it's not even could Cait make that shot or not she was willing to blow Jinx's brains out RIGHT in front of the child who obviously cared about her like, ma'am? um, not okay to kill anyone in front of a child period, but definitely not the person they attached to
and her gun had shot through metal ordinary bullets couldnt pierce, aim is useless that bullet wouldve gone straight through the child too accuracy be damned. also the hextech had been malfunctioning that entire fight cait confidently saying she wont miss is pure arrogance and recklessness
Omni i loved this reaction. Always enjoy the analysis after. I completely agree with you on the Jinx wanting to go out with a "Bang". And the child and parent cycle point is exactly what I was thinking aswell. You can see how when Vi is about to kill Jinx and Isha runs in the middle, the quick frame of Jinx's expression (along with her shouting no) showing her huge concern for Isha's safety was incredibly interesting. And I think Vi's expression watching Isha protect Jinx was some sort of realization that maybe Powder is still in there somewhere. They really want to pull our heart out with these sisters seriously. Also agree, Caitlyn freaking missed. Shes not aiming at her finger at all, that was the biggest miss of her life. I wouldn't trust her at that moment if I was Vi either. Amazing amazing writing and directing. Caitlyn was the most interesting character for me by far. Her arc of being the sheltered, diplomatic, and empathic child into a beast with no remorse. She seems like they are building up her to be some sort of antagonist. Of course in this show, everyone is just grey. I mean the way they wrote Silco, they really got you torn to love him. Anyway, That aside, Caitlyn looks so badass as a general with the cloak. Cant wait for act 2
also cait was telling vi to move and not to move the kid, vi was way further then the kid was so why would she tell vi to move? she obviously realised in some way that accuracy wasnt the issue. I also believe vi stopping cait was because of that, she knew cait wouldnt be the same if she shot and killed an innocent kid while trying to get revenge and because she saw cait was so unstable she tried to calm down cait first rather then neutralize the kid
The Black Rose is a major group in Noxus. Founded by Vladimir and headed by LeBlanc, they also have other notable assassins in Talon and Katarina. They're probably the most dangerous group in Noxus, only matched by Darius's might and Swains intelligence. Swain, Darius and Leblanc make up the Ruling Council of Noxus. Also other champions who were hinted at during this episode; Camille. Her family is present at the meeting of the influential families at the end of the episode, but she herself was not there, they are the ones in white. Orianna. She's speculated to potentially be Singed's daughter, the one he lost. She's teased a little with the clockwork music locket that Singed has at the end of the episode. Warwick and Janna are both obvious. Also potentially the Wild Rune effecting Ekko could be what gives him his power to turn back time a short time.
True... except for the last line. There is a triumvirat in Noxus, with Swain the sight, Darius the strenght and the "cunning" which is... someone we don't already know. Maybe it's Leblanc, maybe not
@@MrHopeNight Was trying to remember the name of it, the Trifarix is what its called. Yes technically no one knows the identity of the veiled women who is the 3rd member of the Trifarix and the leader of the Black Rose, but we as external viewers can establish it is LeBlanc quite certainly.
I don't think talon and katarina are members of the black rose. In the katarina comic, Swain chose katarina as his assassin, and his killer in case he lose control of his demon. She also kills a black rose assassin in the last panels. While Talon has no connection to the black rose, only their father.
@@christiancolasito8266 Yeah (0% sure Kat works directly for swain these days not the black rose. I believe their father does work for the black rose so in a way talon does as well.
One of the things I haven't seen any reaction mention is that Jinx's rocket launcher is also powered by Hextech, at least in part, but it doesn't malfunction in any way that we see like the gauntlets and Cait's rifle. It makes me think that the fusion of tech by Jinx somehow made it less susceptible or immune to the hextech reactor's control. Or it was just for dramatic effect. Also a huge bummer how Mel's attache, Alora got consumed by that Black Rose funk. Like Mel sent her to check on Guild-merchant Amara and Alora was taken by it at that point. I assume anyone taken over dies when the flowers bloom out of their face like that but maybe not. Either way it feels meaningful, we'll find out in act2 I bet. Edit: As sinister as the black rose takingover people is, how Ambessa manipulates people feels worse. She uses that "Come child." line and everyone except Mel falls for it.
I wonder if jayces hextech was more unstable because he was the one who touched the wild hexcore funky, and we only saw weapons he had produced and made get wild and glitchy while jinxs only became unstable a bit later. still makes sense because jinx had made hers with the core jayce had made, so it was still linked to him but way further then the other weapons made recently. we also weren't shown any other hextech malfunction so the time aspect might actually be present. it was a fight scene though so they mightve just not shown it because it wouldve been out of place but im sure they could make the scene still work because of how choatic it was... though I also have a theory the hexcore is very much linked with time (maybe gives echo his time powers, viktor "healing the guy by sending his body back in time etc)
27:44 I also think she DID miss the shot in the scene where she shoots Jinx's finger. I know some people are saying Cait hit the hand to defend Vi (because it seemed like Jinx was going to hit her), but she had Jinx's head served on a platter, the angle was perfect, and if we look at the sequence, we can see Cait was waiting for the perfect moment to shoot, so... why aim for the hand? She missed here. Another scene is when she shoots Vi's hand; again, she missed. In the sequence, it shows how Cait was actually aiming at Jinx, but ends up hitting Vi's hand. Many people say it was on purpose, and it is actually a topic of debate on Twitter, but I honestly think she missed the shot here too +👇🏻
It's very difficult to explain this without images, but I hope I've made myself understood. In my opinion, Vi was right to stop Cait, as you mentioned in the video, she has shown to be anything but stable, and throughout the episode, we see her escalate ALL the time.
Watch Necrit's review video. He has good explanations and reasons why she had never missed a shot the whole show, and would've missed. Also a lot of other details he points out are interesting
❤ It's less about caitlyn missing the shot, but rather that bullet put a hole clean through thick metal. She would have got a collateral using that thing!
That was the general view of Vi in that moment? Didn't get her protecting Jinx at ALL. She was going to take the punch, she was going to do it if the kid didn't run up and get between them.
Fully agree. Or even if she hadn't been able to do it herself, I have no doubt she would have let Cait take the shot if the kid hadn't gotten involved.
While Leblanc stands for her wide network of agents and the ability to controll/posses people .. the use of bloodmagic could be a hint for vladimir, who is also a member of the black rose and actually the co-founder.
I didn't read her shooting the cutout as hallucinating, I think she was venting frustration, which is honestly worse in some ways. Pretty wreckless to just fire off your weapon because you're pissed.
18:55 Saw that breakup a mile away. Thank you opening for spoiling that. Also now Vi is the one abandoned by a loved one, like how Vi abandoned Powder.
Vi saw Jayce kill an innocent child in the crossfire and how it affected him, even thou in that moment Vi tried to almost defend/justify it. She didn't want that to happen to Cait.
Hey man. Love your reactions. I don't comment on a lot of videos but I wanted to thank you for your work. I really feel bad for Cait right now, because her curiosity and willingness to learn are what made her my favorite character in the first season, even tho she is definitely wrong in this episode. The thing is she knows that she is wrong. Or at least she would had she had time to actually grief and process. But her mother's memorial ceremony had to get attacked by Zaun (Ambessa) and she pressures herself into thinking it is her responsibility to fix things. While the chemical warfare is definitely messed up I think it is still a better approach than the full blown invasion that the council has agreed to since it is more precise and (as far as we been shown) involves less if no civilians at all, contrary to all out war in the streets. Now Cait has been pressured by Ambessa into being Piltovers general and Ambessa will make sure Caitlyn doesn't get any room to breathe and think about what is actually going on, while fueling the rage and pain she is in. Sorry for the article. I just don't see a lot of people talking about this ankle and I wanted to get this off my chest😅
Heimerdinger was correct that hextech would lead to disaster in the long run . Also Jayce really just put an experimental reactor below Zaun wonder if Victor knew about that. Hope Ekko Jayce and Heimerdinger find a way to calm the arcane.
Viktor 100% knew about it. They worked on it together for most of a decade. It's not our first clue that it was weird. When Viktor got vertigo the first time in S1, he was staring down the channel if the crystal matrix of the HexGate. Moments later he assembles the first prototype Hexcore, the one that first synthesized his blood.
@@SeanBoyce-gp oh I wonder if that was the first time the arcane "spoke through" to viktor and led to him creating the core? it seems he has a special connection with it, which was represented by himself before and now through skye as a medium
I mean tbf, Vi just wanted some space, cause she's angry and mourning about what happened and Marcus took her out, leaving Powder with Silco. Here Caitlin did left Vi out of anger. She intentionally left leaving Vi alone cause she's still mourning on her mother's death. But I see what you did there
Jinx protecting the little girl and then Sevika protected them is always a sweet detail to me. I feel like it shows that there is more to them than just being these “villains” bent on revenge and chaos.
Also I doubt Salo 'thought it was gonna be him' I think they PLANNED it to be him, but she was always planning secretly to pull the rug out under him, which is why the soldier was ready to make him sit down lol
Just to clarify if cait shot jinx in that moment with the kid involved she would have killed jinx and the kid the hex tech bullet would have went through jinx head and killed the little girl also that’s
It hurts, but i love caitlyns dictator arc. Caitlyn wont be a puppet though. She will be influenced by Ambessa, but she wanted someone strong, not a wet blanket like Salo. Like Mel said, everything is a calculated risk with her.
Caitlyn being consumed by vengeance that she was going to shoot a child she has gone off the deep end. She pushed away the ONE PERSON who can understand what she was going through and their relationship ended in the worst callback to Season 1.
the girlies: super intense covert operations, political intrigue, betrayal the boys: pondering the (hextech) orb, discovering the eldrich truth, playing with dogs
i was worried how they were going to pull us away from vi, jinx & crew that we all fell in love with and get us interested in new characters & stories. they're laying out great foundations cuz I'm so excited to explore the other worlds and stories.
Vi being concerned about a kid being shot in the crossfire? She forgot what she said last season when Jayce was so torn after accidentally killing a kid: "They knew what they signed up for"
I think what's happening here is that the more she's with Caitlin, Vi gets her morals. Top side morals. That's why she is more vulnerable around people(the way she said sorry on the big dude instead of flipping them out). And to be fair, the kid would be so traumatized if Isha just saw Jinx got shot in the head really close to her. Possibly become the next Jinx herself.
I think what happened isnt that vi was above killing the kid necessarily, but didnt want cait to kill the kid. jayce was torn up about it and caitlyn has always done non lethal fire against sevika and even jinx in ep 9, vi knows cait would regret that and it would also stain her morals. cait was also definitely not in her right mind. cait "I wont miss" when that doesnt matter with the gun shes holding. the gun has shot through multiple items other weapons havent (metal shield vi uses that cait had shot through from a distance) it doesnt matter that she wouldnt "hit" the kid the bullet would go through jinx and hit both vi and the kid and anyone in the way, vi saw cait become unstable and sought to stablize the most dangerous thing in the room at the time as jinx was beaten down and disarmed. the only factor out of hand was sevika blowing up the tunnels.
I'm absolutely convinced Jayce, Ekko, and Heimerdinger have become trapped in that arcane realm and there is about to be a timeskip of months or even a year where everybody believes they're dead It would mean the Firelights have no leader and might turn to Jinx's side?? And also Caitlyn doesn't have Jayce, Vi, OR Mel around to talk sense into her, only Ambessa
@selenarodgers5667 Ambessa could also easily spin it and make things even worse by blaming Jinx for the disappearances of Jayce and Mel, especially because it happened at the same time as the paint bombs. "That was just a distraction so that her real plan could be enacted. We must do something about this"
Freakin' love what they're doing with Ambessa here. Main because we're seeing Mel's warning was dead on without turning her mom in a ham fisted villian. Dunno what's gonna happen next but this is gonna be good.
I love how they are preping for the Noxus story, and Embessa is a proof how Noxian Empire is such skilled to do anything they want, she just manupulated the whole zoun and piltover on her own, imagine what kind of story we will get in the next season
The thing that gets me in the cait/vi/jinx situation is that everyone has decided/ has accepted that they are there to straight up execute Jinx, there’s no in between. There’s no thought of “oh let’s arrest the criminal and bring her to justice” no no, it’s death or nothing 🤨🤨
Cait in episode 1: "Innocent civilians could be caught in the crossfire!" Cait in episode 3 when Vi asks her not to change: "I won't." ALSO Cait in episode 3: "Who cares if and innocent child is in the way. Its fine as long as Jinx dies."
Vi in season 1 also told Jayce that it doesn't matter if one kid dies, he knows what he signed up for. Frankly I don't understand why Vi didn't just throw the kid off her with that enormous gauntlet she has. So why did Vi suddenly care about the kid, like she said before they knew what they signed up for
Thinking back on S1, Amara has always been keenly interested in Hextech. She must’ve already known about Medarda’s plans to utilize it? Edit: fantastic assessment on caitlin’s state of mind. I didn’t even think about Vi’s brains being blown out. At the time I was so invested in Caitlin’s character that I felt frustrated Vi would stop her. At the time I genuinely felt that one kid was a reasonable price to pay for Jinx’ being out of the picture. I feel disgusted at myself now for even considering that but damn did I understand Cait’s frustration.
I think two people are after her. I really hope so because I want to see one their ......top general types.....to make an appearance. Regardless, the team has lived up to the hype of season 1 so far.......and that is a challenge I was so worried they would fail.
One thing that I’ll never get over is she ALMOST SHOT VI TWICE, and MISSED and shot off Jinx’s finger, so like WHOS TO SAY SHE WOULDN’T MISS AND HIT THE KID, that is not a chance someone should be willing to take, that would’ve been a child’s blood on her hands.
The fact there is not even a SHADOW of guilt after the whole situation and after hitting VI’S INJURED STOMACH WITH HER GUN, pisses me off even more Edited for grammar
Wait what are you basing this on...? Amara in the Show is voiced by Salli Saffioti. LeBlanc in the Games is voiced by Carrie Keranen. I do agree that it most likely is LeBlanc - but we don't know who will voice her in the Show...
One dead kid for possible peace between both cities is a small price to pay. We know from the trailer that a war will in fact break out with Jinx as an symbol of hope for the people of Zaun. Everyone that dies in the rest of the season? their blood will be on Vi´s hands.
I dont think its that simple. if it was just the kid dying then sure maybe but vi had to stop the sherrif from killing blindly in a revenge state. if cait had killed jinx the undercity wouldve found a new symbol, sevika still exists after all, but caitlyn wouldve gone off the deep end and wouldve abandoned her morals even further. cait has always consistently used non lethal shots in every situation even when it was the poorer choice, caitlin having a hate boner for the undercity wouldnt change with jinxs death as that wont fix her mother being dead or her prejudice. I think it wouldve changed nothing. cait being willing to gun them down is different from her actually doing it
I think one thing that´s often forgotten is the fact that all our main characters are young adults around 20.
Oh, the misery
Makes sense they split tho. If it was a build up to something good they probably would let it happen later on in the story. Instead they use it to excell the meltdown between them.

You're absolutely right about Vi protecting the kid and that Caitlyn WOULD've missed the shot:
1 - Vi let Cait take the shot straight into Jinx's head when she thought it was the real her - Caitlyn was the one that missed it on a trick.
Finally someone with a reasonable take on cait-vi-jinx situation
She really looked at Cait's mom dying and said "free real estate."
No but seriously, I'm so excited for Caitlyn's downward spiral. My favorite thing about Cait in the first season was her compassion and ability to empathize. Now, I'm very interested to see what she can hold onto, and what it'll take to get her to start clawing her way back up.
Ambessa locked into that Inciting Incident TM
Damn riot are good
Oh i never knew this!
@@KlaSiKo4 It's really cool. The official upload of the full song by the Riot Games Music channel says so in the video description.
Riot really loves using conlang in songs, they also used it for Ornn and Volibear for their themes as Freljordian tales sung by bards and skalds.
Wait. It's really a pray for janna?
@@blazingstorm9351 "Just an alcoholic" yeah because those don't have any issues that would've brought on said addiction
He seems like a Zaunite but that doesn't explain what he was doing in Piltover near Caitlyn's house.
AYOOOOO I didn’t even think of that
OHHHH WTF
You're so right but also how in the fuck are these writers so good
Yooooooooooo!!! Why did I forget about that 😮 that’s true!!!
Wait, that's insane if true.
😮😦🤯
Ok but Caitlin is dripped tf out with that coat
For real!
Drippy!!
Is it bad i didnt really like her in season 1 but im simping for her af in season 2 😭 she may become my fav character now
@@Lin4ster not really but, most always liked caitlyn
Most people with biases in season 1 disliked 2 characters the most, jinx or vi (I dont agree with that because both characters are amazing) but I didnt see anyone disliking caitlyn
fr why do the fascists/despots always have the best drip lmao
30:30
Oh, of course she planned to die, she always plans to die.
I was expecting this to be just another "It's all Le'Blanc" episode, it being true shocked me and ngl, dope af
Second act is going to be the big final war, third act is going to be setting up the next Series and concluding everyones stories.
I don't even care how good of a shot Caitlyn is, at that close a proximity any shot would have been a risk
Especially when Isha was literally covering Jinx with her own body.
"I wouldn't miss" my arse...
and it showed before when cait shot the dolls in the arcade and later in this ep shot through the metal shield which one of jinxs bullets pierced through, the hextech gun she has now is LETHAL and would definatly have gone through jinxs head to the kid who was on the other side, even if vi had lifted the kid bodily up it wouldve hit all 3 and had massive amounts of damage, even if cait had managed to shoot point blank. also when cait had shot jinxs finger off It didnt even bleed but rather had the blue residue and when that was shot her hand had been far away so cait had aimed up but she wasnt doing that anymore. vi couldve pulled the kid off but the kid was holding onto jinx so jinx wouldve been pulled too, but vi had realized cait wasnt in her right mind and wanted to stabilize the most dangerous element in the room at the time. she definatly hesitated but not to the extent she wouldve backed off, imo
Caitlyn's ultimate locks on to a target. Necrit's review points this out. She wouldn't have missed the shot, Vi just intercepted it like you can in the game
17:29 I only notice this on my second watch but ... Jinx actually shielded Isha (the little girl) from the blast.
The next dead child. Season 1 had already significant amounts of them. There will be more in Season 2
ok but i am shaking in my boots for Jayce & Viktor's fight
Jayce has finally realized how bad he screwed up using the arcane like this, and he knows he has to stop Viktor
meanwhile Viktor can finally cure others like he always wanted and will not submit to Jayce anymore
The golden glorious evolution
I think to your point about Cait being rattled and off her game- the entire reason Jinx got away was Sevika, who Cait had just been fighting.
Cait got tunnel vision on Jinx and it meant that she didn't properly restrain Sevika OR notice her moving to set off the trap until it was too late.
Cait can blame Vi, but Jinx had given up she was trying to die by Vi's hand. I understand that Cait can't know that's sincere but the audience does and if we're fine with the argument that we know Cait wouldn't have missed, I also think we can say we know Jinx had already given up the fight.
Can I just say how sad it is how Maddie got caught up with the war speech, she genuinely wants to do good but is more on the naive side, she doesn’t fully understand the extent of it
I'm starting to think Maddie might not be one of the good guys... Idk just a feeling
@@anitaremenarova6662 It could be both. People make all kinds of decisions for more than one reason.
In addition to protecting Jinx and the girl, I think she's also trying to protect Cait from her own blind rage and grief, keeping her from doing something she'll almost certainly regret.
Using Hextech was a natural course of action. They just got their ass handed to them by chemtanks!
tbh for me it's not even could Cait make that shot or not
she was willing to blow Jinx's brains out RIGHT in front of the child who obviously cared about her
like, ma'am? um, not okay to kill anyone in front of a child period, but definitely not the person they attached to
and her gun had shot through metal ordinary bullets couldnt pierce, aim is useless that bullet wouldve gone straight through the child too accuracy be damned. also the hextech had been malfunctioning that entire fight cait confidently saying she wont miss is pure arrogance and recklessness
Vi was okay with the first shot that hit the mirror. She only had a problem with the shot with the kid in the way.
also cait was telling vi to move and not to move the kid, vi was way further then the kid was so why would she tell vi to move? she obviously realised in some way that accuracy wasnt the issue.
Pretty sure LeBlanc is the founder, and Vlad is the co-founder.
Jinx's rocket launcher *did* glitch out. it's a split-second thing, but the rocket blew up in her face before it even left the launcher.
The eyes on the rocket launcher is going crazy. So I think it's still glitching.
27:44
I also think she DID miss the shot in the scene where she shoots Jinx's finger.
Things are going to be far worse when Singed will release his creation. And if "she" appears to lead the Black Rose, then it's going to be even worse.
could be vlad 😶🙄
@marcobartoli1896 Could be but I have the feeling she is a better candidate.
While Leblanc stands for her wide network of agents and the ability to controll/posses people .. the use of bloodmagic could be a hint for vladimir, who is also a member of the black rose and actually the co-founder.
Ambessa you evil genius!
I didn't read her shooting the cutout as hallucinating, I think she was venting frustration, which is honestly worse in some ways. Pretty wreckless to just fire off your weapon because you're pissed.
OMG They are bringing in the Black Rose into this. Let's fucking go.
2:15 is kinda hilarious with you vibing to the music but stressed out AND impressed with what you're seeing 😂
18:55 Saw that breakup a mile away. Thank you opening for spoiling that.
Also now Vi is the one abandoned by a loved one, like how Vi abandoned Powder.
I was just on your channel looking for the third episode haha hi from Brasil
Vi saw Jayce kill an innocent child in the crossfire and how it affected him, even thou in that moment Vi tried to almost defend/justify it.
She didn't want that to happen to Cait.
5:50 its leblanc, the black rose is her cult.
The Uncaged Wrath of Zaun is about ready to hunt ......
Man, I cannot wait for Act II.
The Wick has been lit and about to explode into War. LETS GOOO!
I see what you did there.
I smell what you did there. Bloody good.
Oh that's good
@@SeanBoyce-gp oh I wonder if that was the first time the arcane "spoke through" to viktor and led to him creating the core? it seems he has a special connection with it, which was represented by himself before and now through skye as a medium
cait abbandoning VI , the same way that VI abanndonned Jinx on 1st season
Finally somene who understand the whole grey thing and the fact that Jinx indeed wanted to die there and those colorful explosion as her last action
Just to clarify if cait shot jinx in that moment with the kid involved she would have killed jinx and the kid the hex tech bullet would have went through jinx head and killed the little girl also that’s
22:48 Warwick almost done...
"Our people has been played and puppeteered for someone else's gain..." - Art immitates life, it seems - and spot on regarding the timing, as well...
It hurts, but i love caitlyns dictator arc.
Caitlyn wont be a puppet though. She will be influenced by Ambessa, but she wanted someone strong, not a wet blanket like Salo. Like Mel said, everything is a calculated risk with her.
Theory going around, Amara and Elora were controlled by Leblanc, the leader of the Black Rose. Pretty cool!
Caitlyn being consumed by vengeance that she was going to shoot a child she has gone off the deep end. She pushed away the ONE PERSON who can understand what she was going through and their relationship ended in the worst callback to Season 1.
the girlies: super intense covert operations, political intrigue, betrayal
the boys: pondering the (hextech) orb, discovering the eldrich truth, playing with dogs
i was worried how they were going to pull us away from vi, jinx & crew that we all fell in love with and get us interested in new characters & stories. they're laying out great foundations cuz I'm so excited to explore the other worlds and stories.
@chihaotran1568 yeah, and this time it's a kid in an evil city following an evil sister that Cait wants to kill.
@@Slayton1978 the undercity isn't evil, it's oppressed. Have you not been watching the same show??
The fight was crazy
Finally a great reaction with an excellent post-react commentary!!!
I'm absolutely convinced Jayce, Ekko, and Heimerdinger have become trapped in that arcane realm and there is about to be a timeskip of months or even a year where everybody believes they're dead
It would mean the Firelights have no leader and might turn to Jinx's side?? And also Caitlyn doesn't have Jayce, Vi, OR Mel around to talk sense into her, only Ambessa
Yup, agree, no one will be around to be Caitlyn’s angel on her shoulder.
@selenarodgers5667 Ambessa could also easily spin it and make things even worse by blaming Jinx for the disappearances of Jayce and Mel, especially because it happened at the same time as the paint bombs. "That was just a distraction so that her real plan could be enacted. We must do something about this"
Jinx seeing Delilah Briarwood's Sun Tree warning: "Even I'm not that crazy!"
Freakin' love what they're doing with Ambessa here. Main because we're seeing Mel's warning was dead on without turning her mom in a ham fisted villian. Dunno what's gonna happen next but this is gonna be good.
9:20 whoa! hehe hahaha hahahaha hehehaha 🤣🤣🤣
The fight with the song from Woodkid sent me straight to heaven, holy shit was that epic
I love how they are preping for the Noxus story, and Embessa is a proof how Noxian Empire is such skilled to do anything they want, she just manupulated the whole zoun and piltover on her own, imagine what kind of story we will get in the next season
looks like Cait got upgraded this season, her new look is epic.
The thing that gets me in the cait/vi/jinx situation is that everyone has decided/ has accepted that they are there to straight up execute Jinx, there’s no in between. There’s no thought of “oh let’s arrest the criminal and bring her to justice” no no, it’s death or nothing 🤨🤨
in the game the Black Rose is an organization led by Le Blanc, Elise, Vladimir and Cassiopeia
Nice post episode commentary
I enjoyed the Janna call-out, since she was the main character I played when I (briefly) played League of Legends. xD
I HECKING LOVE ARCANE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!
Cait in episode 1: "Innocent civilians could be caught in the crossfire!"
Cait in episode 3 when Vi asks her not to change: "I won't."
ALSO Cait in episode 3: "Who cares if and innocent child is in the way. Its fine as long as Jinx dies."
Vi in season 1 also told Jayce that it doesn't matter if one kid dies, he knows what he signed up for. Frankly I don't understand why Vi didn't just throw the kid off her with that enormous gauntlet she has. So why did Vi suddenly care about the kid, like she said before they knew what they signed up for
23:45 mother from down under is amazing but i don't think she's Australian
Thinking back on S1, Amara has always been keenly interested in Hextech. She must’ve already known about Medarda’s plans to utilize it?
Edit: fantastic assessment on caitlin’s state of mind. I didn’t even think about Vi’s brains being blown out. At the time I was so invested in Caitlin’s character that I felt frustrated Vi would stop her. At the time I genuinely felt that one kid was a reasonable price to pay for Jinx’ being out of the picture. I feel disgusted at myself now for even considering that but damn did I understand Cait’s frustration.
U are absolutely right it starts with an L 😂
I think two people are after her. I really hope so because I want to see one their ......top general types.....to make an appearance.
Regardless, the team has lived up to the hype of season 1 so far.......and that is a challenge I was so worried they would fail.
3:22 was my exact same reaction
Le Blanc is a leader of Black Rose
Vi was actualy about to kill Jinx, she was charging the punch even after hesitating she only stopped because of the kid
5:54 I think the Black Rose symbol is mostly associated with LeBlanc in LoL, not Zyra.
If you stayed for the discussion, I corrected myself there lol
Ambessa playing single player in the CHESS BOARD EVERYONE playing at her hands 😏😏😏
The fact there is not even a SHADOW of guilt after the whole situation and after hitting VI’S INJURED STOMACH WITH HER GUN, pisses me off even more
Edited for grammar
What a way to end act 1
Leblanc!!!! black rosr
In Season 1, Amara was very much implied to be corrupt in her first scene with Jayce and Mel.
Amara has the same voice actress as Le blanc.
The black rose and the clones / vessels , she is Leblanc.
Wait what are you basing this on...?
Amara in the Show is voiced by Salli Saffioti.
LeBlanc in the Games is voiced by Carrie Keranen.
I do agree that it most likely is LeBlanc - but we don't know who will voice her in the Show...
6:50
Bruh she's here she's here
THAT AHRI... New skin
That Black Rose is terrifying....
I hope Caitlin sees through
What was the epiphany about Ambessa? I think I missed it
Mel's family in some deep shit 😂they pissed off some real powerful people in noxus
Warmonger arc :D
Yeah the witch is "L" :P

Do a colab with narrator and the boys. You look like narrator

CINEMA
I think it wouldve changed nothing. cait being willing to gun them down is different from her actually doing it
5:40
It's that zyra...
No is FAKER MAIN CHARACTER LEBLANC
stay for the discussion lol
