Really love the detail in the VI vs Jinx fight that while Vi, Sevika and Cait were HORRIFIED and HURT by the chaos energy of the Hexcore and magic, Jinx THRIVED in it. She's someone who understands chaos on a fundamental level, and uses that to her advantage. Like tossing her signature weapon in the air, jumping to catch it, THEN firing. She is very much a "chaos is a pit" type. But she doesn't see the chaos as never ending darkness thrown upon the world. She sees chaos as clarity.
Mel from S1 E8: "She should have a kind, fat face. Clever, to charm her subjects - but pliable so we can mold her". Sounds an awful lot like Caitlyn right about now.
3 reasons Caitlin could miss: she's disoriented, all the Hextech glitching including her gun, and she clearly shot Jinx's finger off when aiming to kill her. And with the Grey, it seems to be due to Zaun being a mining town and only the Kieraman's attempted to help by creating those value shutoffs to help the Under city. Now it's being weaponized by Caitlin. So, Jinx decided to send it back to Piltover with the colorful display. Give them a taste of their own medicine. And Ambessa pointed out the effects with her closing speech, showing the child with an air mask and red eye.
In episode 2, Smeech says that the Grey is just factory smog that's trapped underground. We learn from the Kiramann tapes that the rise of industry in the fissures increased air toxicity, aka factory smog, and during her time in the council, she had architects create a ventilation system that would keep the toxic air away from the rest of the undercity residents. However, all it did was trap the smog underground like Smeech said. They didn't fix the problem, they just put a big bandage over it. Jinx rerouted the vents to cause the Grey to blow up towards Piltover instead of stay underground, but the factories in the fissures still exist. As long as the vents remain rerouted, years of that smog is now polluting the air in Piltover. I think Jinx's critique of the "Janna bedtime stories" was that their breathable air wasn't due to some wind goddess saving them, but because the factory smog was still there and just being hidden away by Piltover, ready to be weaponized against Zaun at any time.
The show establishes a few times that bullets fired from the Hextech rifle can punch clean through most things. When Cait was trying to take the shot, the kid was still either covering Jinx, or had her head on the opposite side of Jinx's head from Cait's vantage point. Even if she successfully fired a round into Jinx, it would have passed through and killed the kid too. Cait wasn't thinking.
Season 2, so far, has continued the excellence of season 1. The animation, plot points, dialogue, characters and action all just work perfectly. Between this and The Penguin, episodic tv has really hit a high note! Also, If Zaun & Piltover story is this captivating I can't imagine how the other parts of the Runeterra will be like.
I dont blame Vi for stopping at the end there, when that kid came out it probably gave her a huge flashback to how they were when they were kids. This child was willing to die for Jinx and she saw that, on top of the fact that Jinx was completely resigned to dieing there and probably wanted to for a long time.
So are we gonna talk about how KKKaitlyn domestic violenced Vi after Vi went "Excuse me, Police Brutalitlyn, i can't let you _HaVe thE ShOt_ when there's children on the line of fire" and Radicalizedlyn went "i tought you where one of them good ones" 😭🤣 (I know Caitlyn is grieving and has trauma, great character writting btw and she _is_ one of THE league of legends marksman, but there's no way taking that shot with the risk of hitting the child literally hugging the target is ethical or expected of a cop, specially with her gun literally phasing in and out of existence 10 seconds ago)
I really don't know why Vi agreed to gas her people, but I hope Jinx or Ekko speaks up about it. Zaun also has a huge homeless population so people definitely died from this.
Also the grey poping up in places seems to be a natural disaster(though it definitely wasnt natural in this case) in zaun so any one who lives in zaun should already know to run.
hi guys I love your reactions and I've been following your channel for so long now I really enjoy your content! Idk who is your editor but I felt like I had to add a thought regarding the rather misleading statistic they shared on *that* scene of cait hitting vi. The study in question included lesbian women who previously had a relationship with a man (before coming out) which really alters the actual statistic since the very same study showed almost/or more than 90% of straight and bi women were or had faced violence by their *male* partners . Now before some idiot comes yapping and assuring I'm trying to defend caitlyn's actions; I'm not, but I don't think is the best course to share information that is not completely factual and that could be rather harmful on the portrayal and generalization of lesbians.
No way this grown privileged woman/cop is out here taking her recently dead mom’s vent design to help a suffering city just to GAS them with toxic air bc she experienced one ounce of the suffering and brutality her ppl inflicted on a marginalized community for decades😭all to flush out one person that is a direct result of piltover’s bs
Couldn't have worded it better😂. I understand her circumstances because it was her mom, but I just can't seem to care for any of the piltover people lol.
LITERALLYY like their reaction to what Cait was doing made me think of this one creator I saw that addressed it and that basically said “I find it frustrating the conversation has become centered around justification bc there is no justification for committing a crime the very person you are attempting to avenge was opposed to. The logic that propels this mindset, the realization that even the people that sympathize w the marginalized may not perceive them as people, is gripping. It’s smth that forces the audience to confront the question, do you truly sympathize with the marginalized or is your empathy contingent on their willingness to accept their abuse? Do you have the ability to see the nuance in the people and groups that have potentially harmed you or do you condemn them all under the same label?”
Just an FYI for that stat about lesbian women experiencing DV- if you read the report, 1/3 of that number is DV committed by men. Just because someone identifies as a lesbian doesn't mean they've never been involved romantically with a man. The highest reporting of DV was among bisexual women (over half), 90% of which was committed by men. It's important not to make assumptions when reviewing data that can lead to incorrect conclusions.
17:55 This statistic is used in a misleading way, especially by homophobes. People love leaving out the part on the survey talking about the majority of the perpetrators of the domestic violence being men.

The gun has been glitching out and even when it stopped Cait missed her first shot and hit her hand. Despite having a clean line of sight to her head. Plus, she didn't give a damn about the kid. She would've felt bad after, but in the moment it was obvious that she didn't care
17:55 - this is a misleading statistic and has no place being thrown into a reaction video as a fun fact. Kind of fucked up to put that in there when you aren't going to explore and break down where the numbers are coming from and how the study was conducted. That shit needs to be off the vid

An insight that some fans seem to overlook regarding Cait's advance v. Jinx is the whole moral imbalance behind her shot. I've been seeing a lot of casuals go "she wouldn't have missed." That's not the point. I think even Vi never doubted for a second that Caitlyn could ever miss that-point blank, rather that if she did off her, it would forever scar Isha and that's why Vi kept wanting to stop Cait. Sure, she wouldn't have missed and killed the primary subject of her objective. But at the cost of shrouding the very moral high ground her late mother stood for and has now posthumously passed on to her, to which we do see being a factor to her being manipulated by Ambessa.
That cdc study it showed lesbians had high rates of abuse but most of that abuse was in their prior heterosexual relationships - so not at the hands of women.
It was for a joke but it's kinda crazy and lowk irresponsible for the editor to throw up that often misunderstood and misused quote about domestic violence in lesbian relationships 💀
the thing that drives me sooo crazy about the jinx/isha/cait/vi confrontation is that for vi, it was a lose-lose situation. either caitlyn misses & accidentally hits isha (child witnesses enforcer violence), or caitlyn kills jinx in front of a child who cares for her (child STILL witnesses enforcer violence). Either situation parallels vi’s own past trauma. In that moment, it wasnt about jinx (at least not entirely). It was about vi’s catalyst for violent change about to be recreated and forced upon this child. Caitlyn said she understood how vi felt seeing her parents die, but demonstrated in this moment that she doesnt and literally CANT. caitlyn has never been on the other side or enforcer violence. the child didnt even compute to her-isha was just an obstacle to be avoided, not a person that will carry this experience forever. But vi’s been on the wrong end of a gun. She understood that no matter what, no matter who got hit, if she allowed caitlyn to shoot, vi would be recreating her own trauma. And THATS why she stopped cait" To quote a post from tumblr a youtuber commented.
Somebody said that killing jinx there would have created another jinx in the child, so the cycle of violence would never end and I believe that, vi made the good move.
Ignoring Isha isnt a genius with a leading mob boss parent figure if Jinx dies, how does not killing/imprisoning her close the CURRENT cycle of violence? Even My Little Pony and Care Bears arent as vainly optimistic to pretend a world shifting serial killer can be tempered with a talk. especially when VI did everything wrong during the finale last season.
Man the people that have beef with Ambessa, played her. She says herself "You're have no idea how much family matters to me" and shortly after that Mel got snatched.
nah bro the kid was on top of her and her head was right next to jinx's. Had she taken the shot, the kid would have gotten clapped. plus I feel sorry for Vi after that intimate moment with cait promising her she wouldn't change
The statistic about domestic violence seems kinda weird to put there especially since it says Partner. not only have many lesbians had multiple male relationships before realising or being strong enough to come out and date a woman. the usage of this data is often used in a fucked up way to say that all lesbian relations are abusive. that's false. it merely shows that a lot of queer women have been a victim of abuse whether that's at the hand of a man, a woman, or anyone else in a couple.
“To Ashes And Blood” by Woodkid has been stuck in a loop in my head since I saw this episode, and I freaking love it. It sounds like the perfect entrance music if you were a UFC fighter or a WWE wrestler.
17:55 This edit feels very ill-intended and mean-spirited. What kind of joke is it? The thing is, yes, this statistic is often being brought up as some kind of "own" or "dunk" on lesbians, as a ridicule of sorts... Even though it's stated literally right in the text that was edited: "by an intimate partner". Genderless. Meaning, this survay is not about female and female relationships only and counted violence from men in the past relationships too. The edit, of course, doesn't hide this information. But it's usage in this specific place, out of left field, when no one was asking, where Cait hits Vi, strongly implies that whoever put it here views it as some sort of joke specifically about lesbian reltionships.
It was so terrible. Males kill women at alarming rate. And they are joking like that spreading misinformation. Those lesbians was hurt by MALES in prior relashionships. Many lesbians date males because of homophobia, religion etc. Vile.
That makes no sense, unless you're some privy to more information about the survey than I have. The survey states explicitly >lesbian< women. Sure, a good chunk of lesbian women have probably been in MF relationships sometime in the past, but all women in hetero relationships are also with men. If the main difference between the two groups are women, then it's probably something there.
Well at the end of the day it is just a joke that's meant to be humorous given the context and shouldn't be taken seriously. Anyone with half a brain knows there's several circumstances responsible for the shown statistics that, as you've stated yourself, weren't hidden or altered so it's not done with ill intention. I'd assume any sane person watching this video took it as such, and any weirdo who actually takes those statistics at face value wouldn't be dissuaded from that mindset if that joke wasn't made anyways. The editor made a joke, the vast majority of people found it funny as a joke considering the like ratios on some of the most popular comments, and it's also ok for those who are more concerned about the underlying meaning behind said statistics to not find it funny because humour is subjective anyways
@@plebbutter3811 Why is it funny? It's funny because women are killed, raped and abused by men, usually husbamd/boyfriend, and that WRONG statistics makes lesbian a villian? It's funny when women hurt bu males, but males blame women?
17:49 that statistic of lesbian women experiencing domestic violence INCLUDES their relationships with men, not just women. The majority of the perpetrators of domestic violence were men. This statistic is often used in a misleading way, most of the time by homophobes.
The grey is a dense gas made from the pollution of the underground factories, there, deep in the fissures the gas doesn't have where to go so it accumulates but when Jinx vented the gas to the topside the gas dispersed naturally, some people got affected but it wasn't for long. But that wasn't the solution to the pollution problem because the gas is still being produced, Jinx used the gas more as a message to start conflict with topside.
Cait would have killed both Jinx and the kid, if she took her perfect shot. Cait actually missed shots before that, and was messed up after fighting Sevika too. And yes, i do believe Cait was so out of it, that she WOULD kill the kid in that moment to just get Jinx. Also the hextech rifle fire would have spread too.
One thing I noticed is how Sheera was seemingly okay with Zaun being poisioned by the Gray and cracking jokes, but the moment it gets sent to Piltover it's a problem deserving worry. Just an observation.
@@KXdareK they already didn't like jinx, and in general they like genocidal characters. Also the top siders are rich, with more resources, are privileged and live nicely soo yep😂
I think one small detail that sort of is interesting is shield guy turning his back during the whole pledge thing when Caitlin was given control over the siege.
Even if Cait **doesn't** miss, the bullet would've passed clean through Jinx's skull and into Isha's. Isha was making it a point to put their heads next to each other in the hug. Plus, we've seen in Episode 2 Arcade scene how LARGE the bullet hole size is for her Hextech sniper rifle. It was the size of a fist. So even in the best case scenario, the kid would've been hit. Cait was just too frustrated to notice that.
Vander, Silco and Sevika all said it, yiu don't give up your own people. Vi became an enforcer and went after JInx. Its a big difference to hunting her down on her own or even working with Cait and the others.
everytime i watch that sequence, chills and it's so epic just reminding me of the other league of legends trailers and the transitions were crazy. also, Woodkid always give me chills for their songs
there's so much to talk about this peak fight moment every episode of this season has a parallel to the first ( jayce controlling the hex core and now he seeing this wild rune and Vi getting abandoned for the person that she cares about just like she did with powder) imagine how fucked Vi is now that another person that she loves is becoming crazy and vingative
The explanation of how runes are used to cast spells is brilliantly said. Like writing code for a computer can command it to do what you want, the runes command the arcane to do what you want. But wild runes are more like using grunts and sounds to communicate with someone, it might not get the message across exactly as you wanted but it will get it done, and in a likely powerful way.
I think yall missed that Jinx was not trying to save herself or the little girl. She was committed to letting Vi kill her and the device Sevika turned on was supposed to be a post-mortem parting gift to Piltover; that's why she said it's not supposed to go like this. Also the kid was literally blocking Jinx's head with her body and constantly moving? It wasn't about Vi protecting Jinx it's about Caitlyn blowing that little girls head off her shoulders all in an attempt to kill Jinx and that just ain't the move
Salo was going to be the general that Ambessa appoints, that was the whole plan. But she and her general had that whole talk about how Salo still isn't ready, and that's when they decided to appoint Caitlyn instead
You're right Caitlyn wouldn't miss (even though she just missed twice) Caitlyn would have killed the kid, it was showed that Caitlyns gun pierces everything, even the metal bowl Vi uses as cover from Jinx's gun. So Caitlyn would have killed both Jinx and the child.

She sees chaos as clarity.
wait ive seen this comment somewhere before
Mel from S1 E8: "She should have a kind, fat face. Clever, to charm her subjects - but pliable so we can mold her".
Sounds an awful lot like Caitlyn right about now.
Cassandra: The people of the underground deserve to breathe
Caitlyn: Are you sure about that?
Jinx: reverse card
Exactly, she clearly doesn’t have perfect aim, or else jinx would’ve been dead already.
Necrit said she couldn't have possibly missed she was aiming for jinx but vi blocked it with the gauntlet
She also shot off jinx's finger so they could take her in
@@jonathanjohnson6727 considering her behavior at the arcade, I wouldn't put it past her to think she had a shot when she didn't.
what part of cait's behaviour this season suggests she wants to take jinx in
In episode 2, Smeech says that the Grey is just factory smog that's trapped underground.
Vi was against Cait shooting because the kid was blocking the shot and Cait wanted to shoot anyway even if it meant shooting the kid
10:45 someone pointed out that this stain is from back when Viktor was coughing blood in season 1, crazy detail

So are we gonna talk about how KKKaitlyn domestic violenced Vi after Vi went "Excuse me, Police Brutalitlyn, i can't let you _HaVe thE ShOt_ when there's children on the line of fire" and Radicalizedlyn went "i tought you where one of them good ones" 😭🤣
(I know Caitlyn is grieving and has trauma, great character writting btw and she _is_ one of THE league of legends marksman, but there's no way taking that shot with the risk of hitting the child literally hugging the target is ethical or expected of a cop, specially with her gun literally phasing in and out of existence 10 seconds ago)

I really don't know why Vi agreed to gas her people, but I hope Jinx or Ekko speaks up about it.
Zaun also has a huge homeless population so people definitely died from this.
To be fair, she had a point that it would clear the streets. Alot less of a chance you would get shot if your already running from the smog
Vi pretty much did it for Cait, it's obvious that she didn't enjoy being an enforcer at all.
Also the grey poping up in places seems to be a natural disaster(though it definitely wasnt natural in this case) in zaun so any one who lives in zaun should already know to run.
She agreed to it cause Jinx need to die before Piltover destroys all of Zaun looking for her. Viktor saving all them homeless people anyways. 😭

hi guys I love your reactions and I've been following your channel for so long now I really enjoy your content!

The logic that propels this mindset, the realization that even the people that sympathize w the marginalized may not perceive them as people, is gripping. It’s smth that forces the audience to confront the question, do you truly sympathize with the marginalized or is your empathy contingent on their willingness to accept their abuse? Do you have the ability to see the nuance in the people and groups that have potentially harmed you or do you condemn them all under the same label?”
they could never make me like someone from piltover 🙏
Just an FYI for that stat about lesbian women experiencing DV- if you read the report, 1/3 of that number is DV committed by men. Just because someone identifies as a lesbian doesn't mean they've never been involved romantically with a man. The highest reporting of DV was among bisexual women (over half), 90% of which was committed by men. It's important not to make assumptions when reviewing data that can lead to incorrect conclusions.

It was for a joke but it's kinda crazy and lowk irresponsible for the editor to throw up that often misunderstood and misused quote about domestic violence in lesbian relationships 💀
Zaun Lives Matter ✊🏾😂😂😂
the kiss low-key made me tweak out in a good way
the thing that drives me sooo crazy about the jinx/isha/cait/vi confrontation is that for vi, it was a lose-lose situation. either caitlyn misses & accidentally hits isha (child witnesses enforcer violence), or caitlyn kills jinx in front of a child who cares for her (child STILL witnesses enforcer violence).
I honestly sometime don’t get y’all, so putting grey on the underground is ok but if the topside gets it back a bit it’s bad?
Somebody said that killing jinx there would have created another jinx in the child, so the cycle of violence would never end and I believe that, vi made the good move.
The child was also near Jinx's head while they were thrashing... That was a bad shot all around...

This edit feels very ill-intended and mean-spirited.
Vile.
@@MariaKryvohub Yeah that was straight up weird ngl

The grey is a dense gas made from the pollution of the underground factories, there, deep in the fissures the gas doesn't have where to go so it accumulates but when Jinx vented the gas to the topside the gas dispersed naturally, some people got affected but it wasn't for long. But that wasn't the solution to the pollution problem because the gas is still being produced, Jinx used the gas more as a message to start conflict with topside.
Cait would have killed both Jinx and the kid, if she took her perfect shot. Cait actually missed shots before that, and was messed up after fighting Sevika too.

Ambessa: Family is everything to me.
Ma’am, your daughter got pistol whipped because of your plan.
Roshi going down that slippery slope of siding with genocide -> police brutality -> partner violence -> fascism (...)
Salo was going to be the general that Ambessa appoints, that was the whole plan. But she and her general had that whole talk about how Salo still isn't ready, and that's when they decided to appoint Caitlyn instead
Well someone somewhere pointed out that from the get-go, jinx and cait were parallels and foils.
