It still blows me away how they turned knockoff Dr Doom- Mr. "GLORIOUS EVOLUTION" himself into an actual character, hell, maybe one of the best fictional characters in recent memory. Before Arcane, he was a joke, kinda like how Jinx was knockoff harley quinn.
@@silverwolfe3636 Viktor was never a joke before Arcane, and I would argue that his original lore is actually way more interesting, in Arcane Season 2 he barely even had a motivation that was actually his. Plus in the original lore his morals and actions have a little bit more of depth, making it hard to completely agree or disagree with him, unlike the show.
It wasn't his life. It came at the cost of another ekko and he is a true hero in the story. One of the only characters that is not black and white, and just white.
I'm so happy Ekko got the spotlight he deserves. But still sad he never got the timeline he wanted. Both from the game lore/videos, and in Arcane. He never got to be with Powder/Jinx.
I really liked the two new enforcers not having their 'parts' in the conflict work out. It gave me the feeling that yeah, during wars things go wrong and people die in anticlimactic ways. It felt very real and went a long way in selling the dispare
@williammcnerny6850 what's awesome is even the champions fail at some point I pretty sure Vi had no major part to play in the final battle, mainly just participating. She was occupied with Warwick. It makes the effect even better
yea but sadly the rest of the cast appearantly forgot about ekko. like no body rly cared for him even tho he was mvp in the whole war. and sacrificed a perfect life to help them out
That last scene with Viktor x Jayce … that finally opened my eyes to why the show was so expensive. It was INCREDIBLE. Probably the best piece of animation I’ve seen in years
Plus that new outfit she has for that entrance, how you can tell she converted her propeller-den into a balloon, and using it for Ekko and his few firelights to dive... So cool.
13:34 speaking on Loris' death, it might've seen abrupt and like the creators didn't care or like charlie said "why even introduce him?" I believe him dying that way was to put into perspective the effects of war. If every character had a hero moment, then there wouldn't be as much shock for the viewer since they'd always expect said hero moment. By Loris dying that way, it helped the creators show that the viewer shouldn't expect anything or characters to have plot armor.
Yeah, its a classic subversion of expectations, if they gave the characters hero moments, or all of them alteast, itd be quite predictable, its fine for some to have them like Isha, but in war time you arent special and there are casualties
I saw Loris and Maddie as sort of yin and yang, highlighting each other's differences. They are introduced at the same time in similar circumstances, but their paths diverge significantly. Loris, as Vi's friend, remains steadfast in his morals and dedication to his people, walking away when Ambessa makes her power grab and he makes the ultimate sacrifice fighting for Piltover. Meanwhile Maddie aligns herself with Caitlyn and is willing to play both sides and manipulate people, pushing her to work with Ambessa and ultimately betraying Caitlyn as her final act. Whenever we see Maddie make a choice, Loris is there to show us that she could have taken a different path. Maddie is the voice in Caitlyn's ear influencing her, but Loris and Vi are consistent in their independence. It really feels like a poetic end for both of those characters to enter and exit the show at the same time despite having basically opposite character arcs.
@@violet3142 great take.... I'll be watching S2 again over the christmas hols... I've watched S1 at least six times while sober now so won't be watching that again for a while, but S2 needs another watch... I did watch Eps 1-3 twice because the first time I just got pissed off at how scattershot the entire story seemed and gave up.
Exactly. For every person who stormed the beaches of Normandy who made it up the beach and committed dozens of heroic actions there was a soldier who took a bullet to the head on their first ever deployment the second that the gate dropped on the boat. It shows how people lead equally beautiful and important lives up to a point, and it's so utterly depressing when their end is, in a way, pointless. Not everybody dies a hero, and those people are still valuable. Absolutely tragic but powerful moment in the show for me.
Arcane is what you get when you combine a shitload of money, insane lore and writing, and passionate artists who were given all the time to perfect their craft.
Did we watch the same season? That plot was being ripped in 10 different directions with a glaring pacing issue. The animation is godlike but take that away and the show is barely cutting mid.
"insane lore and writing"? The bars can't possibly be that low for animation. come on, there a better shows than this miscellaneous mash up of ideas and a questionable pace
If you mean the dance scene in the universe in which Vi is dead, that in not Jinx, that's Powder, because she never injected herself with shimmer or smth
maddie was the one who gave the bomb to the silent dude, kinda hinted that she tweaked it for it not to go off since later on she was introduced as a betrayer
We could've figured it out in episode 6 already. Ambessa straight up told Vi that Vi leaving allowed her to fill the gap Vi left behind. That gap being the person Caitlyn confided in.
“This world is a wasteland, please let me go”, in the beginning it’s a song about suicide, but with the end HEAVILY implying that Jinx survived and escaped, it’s about how she’s done with everything in Zaun and Piltover and just wants to leave to start a new life.
I feel like it's just Riot pressuring to make the deaths ambigous so that the players that love those characters don't feel betrayed. Companies are doing this alot with gacha games. Either way I don't really mind that.
At the end you see Caitlin looking at the schematics of the hex gates and sees that there were vent shafts along the walls of the main chamber she was falling down. I assumed that to mean she jumped through one of those.
I honestly hope they never confirm if jinx is actually gone. It’s nice if she can start over somewhere else, but it also makes sense if she died since she can go out with a final bang protecting her sister.
also the voice acting is just incredible. special shoutout to ella purnell (jinx) who absolutely sells the conflict and vast range of emotions her character experiences throughout the show
17:34 Heimerdinger isn’t dead. My friend is obsessed with League of legends lore, and he says that Heimerdinger belongs to a race of spirits called Yordles. All Yordles have a physical and spirit form, and a Yordle can’t be truly killed unless you kill its spirit form. When a Yordles physical form sustains enough damage or injuries to cause death, they quite literally respawn and are brought back to their home city/city of origin (Bandle City). They are supposedly native to a realm of spirits. This connection is why they have long lifespans and supposedly they don’t even need to breathe.
Yeah but yordles use glamour which was not mentioned also it looked like yordles were integrated into society which previous Lord suggests otherwise he's likely dead
Regardless of that, heimerdinger also disappeared from the timezone where they were stuck, that means he can only be back in the main one. It's weird how we just don't seem him anymore at all or he isn't mentionned though, he really went in the backseat.
The only way I can think that he is permanently dead is because he was in another timeline, meaning that at least he would revive in the other timeline. But I doubt he is dead seeing that there is another crazy yordle in pitover that has a connection with Heime that didn't appear in the show
Before he disappears you seem him get outlined and glowing white as if teleported. Then after you don't see anything splattered anywhere, he's just disappeared with the tube still floating. I don't think he's dead either. Maybe yeeted way back in time, or like you said, to the yordle realm.
On Ambessa’s death - Mel’s friend died almost instantly from the Black Roses’ thorned chains, so I think they actually did set up how they could kill someone lacking magical protection so easily - they even make sure to disarm Ambessas’ warding stones first to make it possible In this series I found that if you think something was unearned, just rewatch it and you’ll see all the steps that lead there
What I understood from the context of the bomb not going off was that Maddie sabotaged it. She is the one who gave it to the green mute guy. When it shows the mechanism ticking down you see something like a nail jammed into the gears. Then it shows Maddie reveal she is a traitor. That's what I got from it at least.
I don't understand why she would sabotage the whole fuckin thing like a bitch what does she have to gain?? Unless she was a betrayer before she joined the force
I think the reason why Ambessa made a deal with Viktor was because she knew that she only has a small time left before the Black Rose catches her. She was desperate to have an army than can go toe to toe with the Black Rose. (Edit) I think Charlie missed the part where Ambessa said something about "the thing about a warrior's death is not by mourning but by revenge". That's why she went to Piltover, for avenging the loss of her right hand.
Mel points out how desperate she is at least twice, she shows desperation in searching for means to escape her premise in several points through out season 2
@@NerdettesNewsStand thats just not true if she was under their control why would she fight and kill the merchant guild spy , she's being shaken down because they are trying to get payback for what she stole , so the comment is plausible she's trying to find a way to take revenge/get them off her and her family's back
Episode 7 was so good. It set up the ending with so many little details and all the themes with in it was heart wrenching. The animation, music and lighting killer me
Episode 7 is probably my favorite overall episode by a pretty massive margin Though the first big Vi v Jinx fight (not spoilers, because come on) was perhaps my favorite single scene
Bc when they play a song telling you what to feel every single time there’s an emotional moment it comes across as heavy spoon feeding, particularly season 2 where they did it *constantly* for virtually everything. This season was one of the biggest let downs imo and goes to show just how easily the audience will choose spectacle over substance. RIP Arcane.
@@KevinOnEarth_ That music argument is foolish. Music (or the absence thereof) in films and TV series have been used to "dictate" your emotions for decades. The composition of piece of art seeks to play a tune with the audiences emotions, it wants show you all the aspects of life, the joy of friendship and love, the great sadness that follows loneliness and loss. If an emotional moment being emotional feels like spoon feeding to you, that's not the series' fault, that's on you. Calling something bad because it didn't develop as you wanted it to is understandable and fine, attacking it via the fundamental concept of art strikes me as... odd. Besides, it's not like the more musical parts didn't also add to the story. From showing a glimpse of what happened in between episodes to giving you an opportunity to feel the characters emotions, the musical design was wonderful. I am sure there are flaws, but there is no perfection without flaws and no imperfection without things done right, the key however lies in the right balance between the two.
Idk, for me the highlight of season one was easily the ekko jinx music video fight scene, specifically because of how unique and cool it was. When it happens at the start of every single episode this season, I can’t think of any of them that really stood out and hit the same way.
"I thought I could bring an end to the world's suffering. But when every equation was solved all that remained were fields of dreamless solitude. There is no prize to perfection. Only an end to pursuit." That was beautiful
Mayuri said a similar think in bleach when he defeated sylaporro. He said a scientist always seeks to get close to perfection without ever attaining it. Once you have attained perfection there is nothing left to do. I'm paraphrasing here
It’s funny how in the blood war arc Mayri see szyalaporo again when he’s at his rock bottom. He’s not there just a figment of his imagination and he’s talking shit to him. That and I heard he comes back in the hell arc.
I have NOT forgotten Heimerdinger my friend Heimerdinger. He became my fav in S2 lol. I don't think it's so much that he was 'forgotten' by everyone, it's more like...a lot of the story in Act 3/S2 relies on things happening 'off-screen' and that is one of its biggest weaknesses in my opinion. We don't get to see Vi properly mourn Jinx, or Caitlyn mourn Jayce, for instance.... Caitlyn's dad just straight up disappears in the story, so does Lest and so many other characters. It's such a big cast of characters and the plot kinda becomes very chaotic at the end ... you just have to ASSSUME these characters miss each other, which is kind of lame ngl

It's a minor detail but I love the scene where Singed talks about Vander to Ambessa. "He isn't a monster, he was once a man, highly respected at that...victim of great tragedy" and he proceed to open his pendant and that BEAUTIFUL tune plays It's so simple but it makes you feel like he is somehow justifying himself, and how his life has turned out. For a man so obsessed with the very concept of Decay and dedicating his life to finding a way to stop it. He himself is a small story of a man who has rotted away into a monster. Not only physically after the shimmer lab incident, but also his mentality and reputation. A highly regarded alchemist, as Caitlyn puts it, brought down to a mad man performing ruthless experiments on everything he comes across to get a glimpse of evidence that he can truly stop the worst affliction of all, Death.
That cracked mask sequence with Viktor and Jayce is peak storytelling. Such a profound understanding of what it means to live captured in simple phrases and fleeting moments from their past. It’s no doubt one of the most goosebump inducing scenes I’ve ever watched in my humblest opinion. It all came full circle there.
Honestly, it made me appreciate it. I quit league years ago. Actually despised it just cus after years of BS you get sick of it. But it reminded me of all the good times I had with friends
I love it when shows turn out to be actual tv shows and not junk thrown on a screen. Theres so much rich story and its very well done. I hope media comes back to this standard, even if we dont get a new movie every few years.
The prison scene was Vi finally giving up. "I choose wrong everytime. And because of it I've lost eveyone" Cait goes to her and let's her know, she's not lost her. "You think I needed all of the guards at the hexgates?" Vi finally got permission from her sister and Cait finally got over her hatred of Jinx.
I loved how Isha lived! She was my favorite character and her daughter mother / younger sibling relationship with Jinx was so wholesome and I’m glad nothing bad happened to either of them!
It’s the same sister relationship powder had with Vi. In the flashback sequence, they jump off a roof into a pool of water, and Jinx jumps with Isha, contrasting Vi jumping before Powder then telling her she could do it. What really gets me is that their sacrifice scenes are so similar, the older sister tries to reach Vander, only for him to turn on them. Then the younger sister rushes to the rescue and in order to save the big sister she sacrifices herself, and in each scene the arcane crystals are heavily involved. Even though Jinx did survive, as we see a line of shimmer escape the explosion, the scenes are just so similar to each other, it’s beautiful
I think the 2 secondary characters were used in the last episode to show the tragedy of war. In war you just don't get to play the hero or do something meaningful every time, somethines you just die like that.
I got so sad when the big guy died. He was such a good friend for Vi, but I love the way they made his death so fast. as you said, like a casualty of war.
It is a once in a lifetime show, especially in the last scene with jinx looking at vi who's eyes are full of sadness and agony, then jinx broke the silence and said "it's jinxing time". Breaks my heart everytime
They couldve so easily ruined it if Viktor had succeeded in pushing Jayce away from the collapsing singularity of the time paradox Massive props to show writers for ensuring that, wherever Viktor goes, Jayce right there with him. Bros are gonna be joined AT THE HIP after just a season of time apart almost led to the end of humanity
i think you're missing the point on Ambessa. really, the only people that know what horrors Viktor will bring is Jayce and Viktor himself. no one else understands the true scope of Viktor's plans, including Ambessa. she's just using him for her immediate goals and has no idea what dystopia he's trying to bring about.
I think the line Ambessa said to Caitlin in the final episode “Desperation is the doorway to oblivion” actually works perfectly in showing at how she was getting more and more desperate in achieving her own immediate goals especially after she lost the trust of Caitlin and Piltover and made her even hypocritical of others when she was so desperately trying to gain more power.
I've also had the idea that she was scared shitless of the black rose and went a bit haywire because of it, like some (justified) paranoïa where she thought she had to take extreme measure to face an enemy that could be everywhere everytime
This. She also only spoke to Viktor about their plans before he went completely machine. He outright told her he'd only change people who wanted to change. Then he and singed superceded his humanity and that's when we went all glorious evolution for all. Also, he mentions Viktor didn't need her but he absolutely thought he did because he was too weak to get through to the hexgate. They served the role of counter cavalry after the zaun's cavalry came in. The enemy was already weakened. Only after he poked the anomaly was he strong enough to take over everything.
That’s the whole point though, she’s too smart to make such a clearly rocky choice and it just doesn’t make sense for her character. Shes not just a rhino who charges head first for the sake of power. Patience, intelligence, ruthlessness and logic have always ruled her decisions making, and we can clearly see in season 1. She based her entire daughter’s education on those principles, and trains Caitlyn in the same way as well.
@@raptorjesus7436 When you have the Illuminati breathing down your neck, and they have shown time and time again they can get to you or your family anywhere (at any time), it's going to make you desperate. She also probably has Swain breathing down her neck to make progress in taking Piltover/Zaun, so that's more added pressure. Her world is unraveling by the time she partners up with Victor.
Of all the moments, the one that got me to ACTUALLY cry was when Ekko hugged Benzo and said he meant so much to him I wasn't expecting it and it hit me like a freight train

@@frxmthegxllxws i think he means like the pacing of the show felt rushed not the quality itself tbh I kinda agree that the pacing was off even though I can't stop thinking about how much I love this show

I was wandering why she was doing that, since it was obvious that he wasn't there anymore. But, she just recovered her sister Jinx, giving her the hope that she could do that to her father too.
@jesusromanpadro3853 Not only that, but Vi probably thought he was dead. He wasn't moving, and those things don't breathe, so there's no way she could tell. She allowed herself a moment to mourn and paid for it in the worst way, which is incredibly tragic.
@@jesusromanpadro3853And the flashback to Vander dying definitely gave her some sort of PTSD, of course she completely broke down remembering her father’s horrifically traumatic death
For Ambessa, it’s good to remember that she comes from a militant expansionist regime that promotes a warrior culture. That wants to gain super-weapons en masse to fight against a world threatening power. It stands to reason that Ambessa wants Victors super army. Not to mention what others may have stated. The black rose has been slowly backing her into a corner since Act 2-3 of season one. Her actions in the finale are just a culmination of years of stress, the loss of her children and a lack of alternatives. Shes a wolf backed into a corner. She will lash out, but not always in smart ways.
Yea see this. Remember Ambessa said twice that “desperation is the doorway to oblivion” and look what her fate was. On top of that, remember when Mel and Elora discovered more about what happened with her, she said “she’s desperate, which makes her unpredictable”
Also, remember that Ambessa was literally driven out of her Home in Noxus, by a bunch of noxian mages. So when she's about to have all her work in piltover, undone, and about to be driven out by... Guess who? a mage again...
@ she wasn’t, it was expected at first, that her and Victor would be partners of such. Past that, I’m sure she didn’t have much of a plan. Which goes against Ambessa’s character that we’ve learned throughout. But I took it as them really harping on her desperation and just grasping at straws
One of my favorite scenes from season 2 is after the attack when Caitlyn is staring at her mother before they take her casket away. Everything around her. The whole world is drawn in such a way that no words were ever needed to be said and you knew exactly how cait felt. And the art style. The pencil shading of the background including her father. The only people that were drawn in the normal arcane style was Caitlyn and her mother. It was a beautiful way to convey mourning and death in this show and again not a single word was spoken in the scene yet you knew exactly what she and her father were feeling
the episode with vander's flashback in watercolor style and AU ekko episode were the ones that hit me the hardest. i agree with your criticism on the show that should be adressed but it doesnt take away the fact that it was masterfully made and deserve all the appreciation!
same. something about seeing what could have been/remembering "happier times" makes me so sad. those were my two fav episode. the more I think about it the sadder I get haha
Fortiche with Arcane and Sony Animations with Spiderverse are really pioneering modern animation in an amazing direction. And not only is the animation stunning, but the writing in both productions is top tier as well
Absofuckinglutly!!!! The best animation Ive ever seen coupled with some of the best storytelling within the last 10 years. I’m so upset arcane only got 2 seasons instead of the planned 5. I feel like 3 would have been perfect but I’m not mad at what we got

One point of clarification to add onto the "budget" discussion. Lots of websites show the "Production" budget. Which does not include any marketing. Dr. Google showed Megalopolis had a $120M production budget AND spent an additional $20M for marketing (so $140M total) The $250M for Arcane was the overall budget, including the marketing. And that's something like 12 hours of showtime between both seasons. Absolute masterpiece of a show
I think it makes sense, its simply not Powder anymore, and she can be turning good or whatever, its still not the same, its a love in another life type now. Powder has spinning blue rose, which is a symbol for impossible love, also, it has Powder and Ekko faces inside the rose.
@@DevonKammeronheavily heavily implied shes alive. Still i think ekko painting jinx and hiemerdinger onto the firelights mural was the perfect ending that they missed to wrap up three stories in one
I also like how Jinx and Ekko are like paralel each other since Season 1. They both thought they lost everyone since their childhood, while Jinx worked with Silko and turns batshit crazy with schizopernia, Ekko built a community with other survivors named Firelights and remain sane. Hopefully Ekko remains sane till the end even when he thought he lost Jynx.
Y’all need to rewatch the ending one more time if you think that someone died. Right before the “explosion” you see one random pink streak heading towards the side. Then at the end where Caitlyn is looking at blueprints for the building where Vì/Jinx/WW was you can see a tunnel/vent system. It’s right before Vi starts humming that song. YW. GG studio, you did a hell of a job.
HOW did she not die though? She was hoping to kill herself by exploding the same gadget, she uses the same thing with warwick and explodes herself with him, she suddenly survives? HOW
Ambessa did not make a deal with Viktor, her deal was with Singed. and Singed stated that Viktor's survival is essential for the army Singed promised to give to Ambessa. Ambessa is not working with Viktor hoping to get his minions, she is working with Viktor because Singed promised he can give her army of her own.
@@peachesandapricots5010 if you need to ask that then it flew over your head. Reason Ambessa comes to piltover is because she finds out kino is dead and whoever killed kino is out to get them (yes in case i need to spell it out, she is talking about black rose). she is hoping to weaponize hextech and get it for noxus in order to defeat her enemies. Everything she did from the moment she entered the arcane scene was to get a weapon to fight her enemies. And as i said at first its hextech, she is pulling strings to make jayce weaponize hextech then when jayce dissapears she manipulates the narrative to keep the war between zaun and piltover rage on because where there is war there is weapon so peace between the two goes against her plans. Even before the prison stuff, she was whispering in salo's ears trying to make him next leader or rather her puppet she can use to get what she wants. Once she realizes Salo is worthless to her she shifts towards Caitlyn. You can even see Salo being surprised when Ambessa says Caitlyn's name because he thought she is doing it all for him. But alas he was too busy wailing in sorrow for his past glory and wasting time of massages and pleasures instead of focusing on war so he was useless to him and caitlyn who was consumed with grief over dead mother and has sniper-like laser focused anger and hatred for jinx was perfect person for Ambessa's goal. did you even ask yourself why when she sees Jinx in the prison she does nothing? She clearly saw blue hair so she knew something weird is about to happen and she ignored it. That is because she wants war to keep going and whatever this blue haired person (she did not know thats jinx but she knows blue hair means jinx supporter at least) plans to do will only be another card she can play to further instigate war. It wasnt until she saw Warwick and learned that Singed "created" warwick that she shifted. With jayce, viktor and heimerdinger all gone and no hope on weaponizing hextech on her own she suddenly finds something better and wants a piece of that. that is why she makes a deal with singed. She never cared for piltover, she only wants weapons and singed just showcased the power of his creation that he made on his own. Imagine the power she can wield if he is able to work with her funding. So instead of wasting her time and efforts on manipulating piltover until she eventually gets hextech weapons that she can use she makes a deal with Singed and get a powerfull pawn with even better plan for weapons than her initial idea of hextech. its basically "why grind for years when you can pay to win" in a nutshell The reason why Ambessa originally goes to sanctuary is to retrieve warwick, no interest in viktor or zaun or piltover. Then jayce mess up her plans and warwick dies. Ambessa confronts Singed and Singed tells her Viktor must survive if she wants to have any hope of the army singed promissed her so Ambessa goes with Viktors plan. Everything from the moment she arrives in piltover till the moment she dies she did for the weapons (and ofc to protect her family, but that is also reason why she wants weapons in the first place so by proxy same thing anyways) And you know its black rose because in her final moments when "black rose" grabs her she admits that ambessa was quite an adversary meaning this whole time they were beefing
Well she kinda did make a deal with Viktor she asked him to evolve her soliders in return for her help in attack on Piltover and he said he will evolve all those who are willing
17:04 They confirmed they won't make a 3rd season. They do have plans to make different series about other parts of the lore though. I'd bet money on the fact that the next series will be on the Invasion of Ionia since it follows the timeline perfectly. Arcane happens ~10 years in the past from the current present day of the lore which is also ~9-10 years after the Invasion of Ionia *with a certain chemical scientist.*
@@tonyg9775 Yes. His chemical weapons greatly helped Noxus. Look up the comic "Darius: Blood of Noxus" and it's on the 5th page. "No. One of Emystan's warbands has a Zaunite alchymist in their service."
regarding 7:50: I don‘t think, Ambessa died due to being tied up by the black rose, but rather by the huge golden explosion Mel created in the realm of the black rose to end the black rose entirely. So Ambessa was more or less collateral damage in that scene. Everything got taken out by Mel except for herself, of course. Mel had to sacrifice her own mother in that scene. At least that‘s how I understood it. I might be entirely wrong, though.
It doesn't really matter how she died. No matter how you spin it Mel knowingly was responsible for her mother's death. Either by providing an opportunity for the black rose to strike or with her own power.
she finally learned what her mother had been trying to teach her. Her mom also saw that she'd be ok without her protection.... the hope of most parents.
@@jacobstevens7046 i never argued against that. I just referred to the statement where Charlie said that Ambessa died too easily. The funniest part is I'm almost certain people will be more mad that Maddie slept with Cait than they will be about the betrayal still. Ekko was the MVP for everything! My man Ekko gave up the universe of his dreams so he could save everyone. Truly the GOAT. He certainly lived up to his title of "The Boy Savior."
I was more upset with Cait to be honest for rebounding with Maddie. The betrayal surprised me, but still made sense considering how Cait immediately went back Vi when they reunite towards the end (in every meaning of the word).
Nah you're way off base. The shock value of the initial moment stirred people up, but the act 3 romantic development - and how Cait treated her towards the end will vindicate anybody who was upset or shook by it. Only the Maddie simps are the ones quite vocal about their displeasure.
If you slow down the shot right before the explosion you see a purple line of shimmer heading to the top right of the screen, later Caitlyn is holding the head of the bomb Jinx used and looking at the schematics of the tower, more specifically an air vent that would supposedly lead to the docks, the final scene of the season is a white ship flying away with the classic Jinx style "the end". If you go all the way back to s1 ep1, one of the first scenes of this series, right after the opening, once the group gets on the rooftop and ship flies right above their heads and if you pay close attention, the ship and the animation of the ship, down to the air streak left by it is the exact same as the ship in the final shot, just the background changing from a city to a open sky, which is then followed by powder saying that one day she would "ride one of those things". Voila, the creators of this show are phenomenal.
I just finished Arcane. And i will admit, i was pissed majority of the time while watching it because it truly hurt to see these characters make the wrong choices, grow further apart and it just never going the way you want it too. But i dont think i've ever had a show drag this much emotions out of me. And the artstyle, man is it incredible, closest i've seen to perfection! I love this show, even though it hurt like hell, i still loved it
Viktor's journey to me was perfect. It felt real how he became who he was near the end and Old Viktor putting Jayce on the journey to "help him" and then Viktor seeing all of that in his memories perfectly completes his characters journey and reaches the end basically. And to top it all of the scene where Viktor looks into Jayce's memoris is probably the single best scene of Arcane in the whole show. It is PERFECT. Which is not an understatement. From the music to the animation to the hopping of scenes (the past events and when Viktor drops the hextech stone) is perfect. It COULD NOT have been done any better. 10/10 Viktor reminds me of Eren a LOT.
13:20 to me the fact that Loris and other side characters don't get to be heroes is a really intentional thing. A way to show how, in that case and most, nobody gains anything from war. How it's just people, acting from a place of love, meaninglessly losing their lives. And it's not grandiose, it's not badass, and it's not beautiful. It's just brutal deaths and loss for nothing. And the fact that we all hoped to know more about them, or that they'll at least get a satisfying ending makes us empathise with them and really get the point across
I absolutely agree. Their deaths being so abrupt and underwhelming just shows the brutality of war, it makes it feel more real and I really love that decision they made
Yeah, they played a role in the battle just didn't get a "payoff". Loris death was definitely on purpose. Not everybody can be a hero and not everybody should get a happy ending. Some people were angry that ekko didn't get his perfect happy ending, but that was exactly the point. Him being selfless and "the boy savioir" includes him not getting a perfect ending/"payoff". He safed his people and thats all he ever wanted. Imperfection wasn't simply a silly quotable word, it's exactly what life is. The show gave us realism in fictive characters, but in the end it's just a story and it has to end.
100% agree.... I feel like battle sequences need things to go wrong. Not 3rd tier characters having a "hero moment". The bomb not going off was fantastic! And then Loris getting killed is exactly what it's supposed to be... I'll also add that I disagree with his comments about ambessa. As viewers at that point we barely knew Viktor wants to convert everybody, and she always believes she can manipulate those more powerful than her
Ya i feel like this point really comes across when you think about Skye. She was a nothing character, but Victor was aware of that, that she didn't even have a chance and then she was just gone. It's a theme for sure.
I could be misinterpreting what he's implying but it sounds less that he wanted them to have hero moments and more that they didn't leave an impact on the story. For a season that really needed every minute to cram everything it was trying to tell, having multiple side characters get focus and screentime when ultimately they could be replaced by faceless, masked enforcers feels like a wasted diversion of previously needed time.
It would've needed more like 6 or 9 acts. Season 2, writing wise, was just either bad, or meh. (Okay, sorry, there are a few good things in it, but it's still overwhelmingly either bad or meh)
As someone who has never played LoL or knows nothing about the lore, I 100% recommend this masterpiece of a creation. I went into this show blind and I was immediately in awe. I have never binged a show faster in my life. It truly is the best show I have ever seen.
something i’ve always loved about arcane and its use of music is that it almost seems to follow the principle of the “hierarchy of expression” seen in musical theatre: “when you can’t speak anymore, you sing, and when you can’t sing anymore, you dance.” while the arcane characters aren’t breaking into song and dance themselves, we see this executed in powerful ways: when emotions reach a crescendo in arcane, the music takes over, moving the viewer sonically through the narrative as the characters themselves grapple with the unspeakable - whether that be unspeakable grief or unspeakable joy or anything in between. coupled with the intentional variation of animated style (the hand-drawn charcoal frames or the watercolor sequence come to mind), the result is something that really does transcend the medium itself. it’s more than a needle-drop; arcane’s music is a powerful narrative device deployed to convey what goes beyond words.
The entire seasons was just sooo so good despite its flaws. Having Jayce get his leg crushed, literally having to live through what Viktors been experiencing his whole life. The entire monologue with "inseperable pieces of what made me admire you". Just such an incredible way of handling physical disability while using Arcanes themes of togetherness and love. The writers were CONSTANTLY killing it with the parallels (ie Viktor and Jinx with their shimmer scenes and the chair throwing after working on their most destructive project, Isha and Jinx paralleling Jinx and Silco, Silcos burial at the beginning of ep 2 to Caits mom in the beginning of ep 1)
@@josephdickinson5183 They never planned for a season 3. Arcane was always planned to be 2 seasons. The Piltover story is over, time to see another part of Runeterra.
@@sweatygoblin2335 originally it was planned to be a 5 season arc, then right after the first season it was then they thought they could do 3 season but it was to expensive and time consuming to do that so it became a 2 season show
im still cryin over pow and ekko dance.. truly masterpiece, I love how u called it "a love letter to animation"- that is what Arcane feels like. And I love that feeling.
To avoid spoilers one is true I loved when… 1. Silco was brought back using Hex Tech and became a senator after the explosion left a power vacuum. 2. Ekko and Jinx kiss in a different universe and Heimerdinger creates a time loop machine. 3. Victor invents a nuclear bomb essentially and threatens to destroy the undercity and VI sets it off after some drama.
5:30 you probably forgot that Ambessa said it out loud that she was going out for vengeance. Cait’s betrayal already declared war against Ambessa’s army. Rictus’ death was the final push. And Viktor read that, offered her an immortal army to help while using her army as a distraction for him to get to the hexgate. Even though Viktor probably didn’t need that it’s still a win-win situation nonetheless
Still makes no sense. Ambessa is supposedly motivated by family, yet is willing to kill her daughter to get to Cait for... vengeance? How do you get betrayed by someone who you spent years setting up the downfall for, including installing a spy as her lover?
I searched for a comment like this. Imho they both had good reasons. Also didn’t the doctor (whos team ambessa) also help heal victor after jayce's attack? I thought the army was a deal in a way. She helps him - he gets her immortal soldiers. (But I haven’t gone in for a 2nd watch yet)
The enemy Ambessa chose makes perfect sense. The friend she chose, however, makes absolutely none. You really really need to think back on how cunning and calculated of a character she was demonstrated to be in... pretty much every scene she has before the last few episodes. There is NO reason for her to think she can either trust or deceive Viktor after seeing what he's like and what he's capable of, and we really don't get any scenes that properly show why she would think otherwise. We also don't get any scenes showing her as becoming particularly desperate, unhinged and unwise so as to explain this lapse in decision-making from her.
I’m honestly sick and tired that the majority of reviewers nowadays are just inserting their politics on their reviews and spending the majority of them just talking about it instead of the thing they’re reviewing. Like just let me know what you think of the classic SpongeBob episodes instead of your thoughts on the Cold War
00:30 fun fact, it actually costed even less than that, in stream, one the co-creators said that number is counting with advertisement and other stuff, not just the show production it self
This is only what i think on Loris's death, i believe they tried to show that not everyone has a heroic death in war. I haven't looked into it much, but yordles (Heimerdingers race) can't die (except maybe old age) since they're spirits that are immortals of sort, after dying they "spawn" back in their city.
I think it was clear to the audience of what Jinx was thinking of doing but Vi cant read her mind like we can see. She thought that Jinx was gonna go rogue again like she has been. Thats why Vi felt betrayed again However, she was grateful that Cait pre-emptivley let her go. Thus ending the hate between all of them
I agree w this, I don't think Vi was thinking she was suicidal, especially since asking Jinx the fight for their side and her saying no. I think Vi expected her to just leave.
Makes you wonder what other summaries he's gotten wrong leading him to wrong conclusions but that requires watching everything and only the rare person will do that and keep track and find that correcting comment among hundreds. There've probably been at least a few but no way to really know either way.
Jinx literally said "you don't have to worry about me anymore, you don't have to feel guilty for being happy, you deserve to be with her." Nothing in those sentences indicates that Jinx is going to go rogue or do something bad. Vi had no reason to feel betrayed, other than the writers wanted to give her reason to give up on Jinx AGAIN so she could fuck Cait.
@@Xephyranth Funfact: In the current timeline, that isn't swains raven but the ancient demon "Raum", and currently not swains servant. That only happens after the invasion of ionia (which didn't happen yet)
I disagree that Vi knew Jinx was planning to kill herself. Vi did not witness Jinx's "conversation" with Silco where he tells her that to break the cycle she needs to "walk away." We the audience have, and thus can make the connection that Jinx is going to kill herself. Vi just thinks she's been tricked again and that Jinx is going off to pull off some new scheme. When Caitlyn shows up Vi is talking about how gullible she is and how she always chooses wrong. Cait reveals that it was *her* choice to leave Jinx unguarded and allow Vi to free her, showing that she has essentially chosen Vi over her quest for vengence.
I agree. Jinx tells Vi that she doesn’t have to worry about her anymore and that she does not need to feel guilty about being happy. She literally gave Vi her blessing to be with Cait. Thought that was pretty clear
I disagree. I think it was conveyed pretty clearly that Vi knew what Jinx was planning cuz, while talking to Cait, she mentioned something about "losing everyone". She also kinda broke down after hearing what Jinx said before leaving which I doubt she would have if she thought she was just tricked again.
I too didn't recognize that Jinx was talking about offing herself at first and understood it more that she would just leave and disappear, which after the ending might have actually happened with ppl believing the blueish streak from the explosion to the top right was her using shimmer, Caits researching the ducts of the hexgate while having a part of Jinx bomb in her hand, and the very last shot of the airship. I only got it once she was actually doing it and Ekko intervened.
6:30 the complaint about Ambessa is valid, but it also made sense for her to go to the extremes because she wants to stop the Black Rose which she views as a greater power than Viktor probably also she probably knew that Mel was captured by the Black Rose just like Kino so she thought irrationally about gaining power
But I guess it makes sense for people to not get it. Things like the Black Rose and other aren't really explained well in the show but are well stablished in the games
@@yordandoykov3181 you missed the part where he said it doesn't make sense because Viktor doesn't need Ambessa. He was already strong enough, all he needed was the Dr to make his body strong. And after that is like making a God and expect to control the God. Also Viktor would have never given Ambessa soldiers. That wasn't the deal. The deal was that Viktor would convert those that are willing to be converted. Which he ended up converting everyone he wanted anyway.
It was so well done that I googled who animated it.. I have never in my life googled an animator. Absolutely stunning and spectacular piece of art. I never saw the first season so I watched it all start to finish in 3 days and it blew my mind. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏾👏🏾👏🏽👏🏽👏🏾👏🏾what a treat. I do not play games so I wasn't aware at all about the backstory or that it was even fashioned around a video game. I saw the hype and took a look and it was colorful and beautiful. Bravo
12:08 you got to remember though. Vi doesn't really understand Jinx, she has come to terms with who she seems to be, but doesnt "get it". Hence, I would not say, that Vi understood what Jinx meant with "breaking the cycle". Like from Vi's pov, that could mean something positive like walking away from violence or supporting them (just not in a normal manner). I don't think vi noticed that jinx was trying to take her own life at multiple occasions (it was never told to her, the one time she was present, she was busy with her own emotions)
Brother, if you can’t tell your mentally Ill sister is going chop sui on herself after watching her only friend delete herself to kill what was your father… you don’t deserve a sibling lol. VI looks like, a massive bitch imo, in context.
It would seem pretty obvious from how emotionally dead jinx was she wasn't eating and the fact vi knew jinx saw isha blow up in front of her and Vi knew how much that kid meant to her it would be obvious but naah her concern was eating her cupcake the only person who genuinely cared was ekko isnt it funny how vi is the actual jinx because in the alternate timeline her death meant everyone would be living in peace and happiness vi wasn't alive long enough to turn powder into jinx.
@@mynameisviktorreznov oh totally. Im not argueing about that at all. Like the sex was just there for the fandom imo, for the plot unnecessary. Im just saying, Vi not knowing what jinx was going to do makes sense, along with her initial reaction, which is basically just being happy that cait helped her break her sister out and gave her a second chance that way
I wish we got to see more of the scene between Ekko and Jinx after Ekko returned. I feel like that was another issue with the show was that they often started a scene but just quickly went to another. Another example is the planning of the upcoming war then its jumped straight to it. I just feel like the Ekko/Jinx scene would've added so much to both characters, especially after seeing Ekko/Powder in another timeline. Think it would've been very bittersweet, but that is taken from us
yeah i feel like an issue with season 2 is that for some scenes they just dont let it "breathe" so to say, don't get me wrong i still love it but it's what put it off for it being the best show of 2024 for me (Shogun & The Penguin still tied for that imo)
@Bumbaclart Facts, just when him and jinx's relationship in this timeline was looking good too. But she's most likely still alive and just faked her death.
@Լenzzo depression is not a flex, dont beg for subs, youtube isnt the issue for your subs you just dont make content, do it the normal way and get subs by making actual decent content youre probably 10-14 thinking this is how to get youtube subs grow up and do it normally trust me i was exactly like you at 11 youre gonna hate yourself later on
@@masumasumasu It was a means to an end, Ekko gets his powers, which in any other universe might have been overtuned to be crazy, but in this show its entire purpose is for Jayce and Ekko to complete their own arcs, they never use the multiverse or time travel to undo any major plot points that already happened, they have done it very well, dont be sucked into this "Everybody uses time travel so its boring now" story
I just loved how refreshing the action was. Even insignificant fight scenes have badass moments like when Vi’s about to get stabbed in the face, then Caitlin shoots a bullet at the blade mid-swing to knock it off-trajectory. Or Jinx using her minigun for propulsion in the middle of a zero-gravity fight.
I loved everything about this, the reconciliation between Vi and Jinx, Jinx getting to end the cycle with Vander, Jayce and Victor both ensuring that the worst doesn’t happen, how the entire Piltover society was changed for the better, and just how everyone got a clear and concluded ending point. Man what a show.
Not really, all things considered episode 7 was really chaotic, switching back and forth between Jayce and the alternate universe. However, it was sweet to see the life Jinx and everyone around her could've had -- very impactful scene, particularly Ekko & Jinx's conversation in private. But the point of the plot was for Ekko to get back to the main timeline, where he is needed. Jinx summarizes it perfectly: "Sometimes, taking a leap forward means leaving a few things behind."
@@tomato-v8xbut that's exactly what made season 1 good and what we didn't get enough of in S2. Intimate scenes, exploring characters and relationships. Every other episode was just go go go move the plot, all the characters are just puppets fulfilling predetermined roles being dragged around, no time! That's why it's the best episode. Like I'm sorry but compare the pacing, writing and execution of the first time jinx attempted on the bridge with ekko after that amazing fight and what the aftermath was to the scene in S2... 2 completely different levels of emotionality
@@tomato-v8x episode 7 seemed chaotic because it was making a VERY clear contrast between the hope of "what could've been" and the horror of "what will be". Jayce going through absolute hell and, (funny enough, total coincidence right?) having to climb out with a BROKEN LEG created the most amazing dissonance with Ekko and Powder inventing and dancing together. (Dancing scene my beloved ❤❤❤. Also the music was just fucking insane, that French song breaks my heart every time) Personally, episode 7 is mah favorite
You know a shows base level of quality is fantastic when a review vid is FULL of complaints, yet the show is still called a must Must MUST watch throughout
16:35 nah that was definitely my biggest problem with the season. It really felt like they had to rush so many storylines into a single season. Like I still have no idea what actually happened with the arcane, wtf is going on with runes, why the anomaly just randomly showed up because they touched the hex center? Like what actually happened, idk
On Viktor's team up with Ambessa: it was laid out that the only way Viktor would get Singed's help with strengthening him to make his plan happen was to help Ambessa as well. Singed was basically being used by Ambessa at this point. No helping Ambessa neant no help from Singed.
@@sloesty I was already crying by the time I saw Orianna at the end. I mean, I’m happy for Singed, but at what cost? 😭 Considering he goes on to make chemical weapons for Noxus, I suppose I shouldn’t be too happy for him. 😅

That Viktor quote at the end about perfection was gorgeous: "There's no prize to perfection. Only an end to pursuit."
An absolute bar right there

It still blows me away how they turned knockoff Dr Doom- Mr. "GLORIOUS EVOLUTION" himself into an actual character, hell, maybe one of the best fictional characters in recent memory. Before Arcane, he was a joke, kinda like how Jinx was knockoff harley quinn.

@@silverwolfe3636 Viktor was never a joke before Arcane, and I would argue that his original lore is actually way more interesting, in Arcane Season 2 he barely even had a motivation that was actually his.
Also, the soldier who ended up firing the canon instead of Loris was the piano guy. Very good writting imo

True, I don't care if they ever come out and say the opposite is canon.
Just so you know at the end of the song it says "dont let me go".
It’s nice if she can start over somewhere else, but it also makes sense if she died since she can go out with a final bang protecting her sister.
also the voice acting is just incredible. special shoutout to ella purnell (jinx) who absolutely sells the conflict and vast range of emotions her character experiences throughout the show
Harry Lloyd was amazing voicing Viktor aswell

Yeah the spawn point is called bandle city
On Ambessa’s death - Mel’s friend died almost instantly from the Black Roses’ thorned chains, so I think they actually did set up how they could kill someone lacking magical protection so easily - they even make sure to disarm Ambessas’ warding stones first to make it possible
In this series I found that if you think something was unearned, just rewatch it and you’ll see all the steps that lead there
What I understood from the context of the bomb not going off was that Maddie sabotaged it. She is the one who gave it to the green mute guy. When it shows the mechanism ticking down you see something like a nail jammed into the gears. Then it shows Maddie reveal she is a traitor. That's what I got from it at least.
Oh 100% that was the vibe.
I didn’t even think of that, but now that you mention it it makes a ton of sense
That’s such a good point. I just rewatched it and it makes so much sense.
I don't understand why she would sabotage the whole fuckin thing like a bitch what does she have to gain?? Unless she was a betrayer before she joined the force
It was so obvious idk how anyone could miss that.
No, she was under control of them, hence Mel breaking her out

I did not know people complain about the music parts. What the hell, imo that is one of the best parts. They make you feel so many emotions.
I am sure there are flaws, but there is no perfection without flaws and no imperfection without things done right, the key however lies in the right balance between the two.
the only reason i watched it is becuase of the music the second i saw skz i watched it ijbol
Idk, for me the highlight of season one was easily the ekko jinx music video fight scene, specifically because of how unique and cool it was. When it happens at the start of every single episode this season, I can’t think of any of them that really stood out and hit the same way.

Yea some of Victors lines in the 2nd season are really deep.
"In all timelines, in all possiblities, it was you who showed me that."
I am glad that Heimerdinger was mentioned here. He had a song and everything and he becomes forgotten. 😭
i think when ekko hold the slip on the rooftop, it is heimerdingers name. it is subtle and an assumption but i think his death is a quiet one
He will never be forgotten 🫡
Especially since he’s not actually dead.
Poor guy could really noodle a Diddy
HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

Absolutely absolutely
It's a minor detail but I love the scene where Singed talks about Vander to Ambessa.
"He isn't a monster, he was once a man, highly respected at that...victim of great tragedy" and he proceed to open his pendant and that BEAUTIFUL tune plays
It's so simple but it makes you feel like he is somehow justifying himself, and how his life has turned out.

Massive props to show writers for ensuring that, wherever Viktor goes, Jayce right there with him.
It stands to reason that Ambessa wants Victors super army.
Not to mention what others may have stated. The black rose has been slowly backing her into a corner since Act 2-3 of season one.

Guess who? a mage again...
but what how was she gonna control viktor and his army?
@ she wasn’t, it was expected at first, that her and Victor would be partners of such. Past that, I’m sure she didn’t have much of a plan. Which goes against Ambessa’s character that we’ve learned throughout. But I took it as them really harping on her desperation and just grasping at straws

@penguinz0 thisss
but then what did she even want the army for? to fight the Black Rose??
So instead of wasting her time and efforts on manipulating piltover until she eventually gets hextech weapons that she can use she makes a deal with Singed and get a powerfull pawn with even better plan for weapons than her initial idea of hextech.
its basically "why grind for years when you can pay to win" in a nutshell
The reason why Ambessa originally goes to sanctuary is to retrieve warwick, no interest in viktor or zaun or piltover. Then jayce mess up her plans and warwick dies. Ambessa confronts Singed and Singed tells her Viktor must survive if she wants to have any hope of the army singed promissed her so Ambessa goes with Viktors plan.
Everything from the moment she arrives in piltover till the moment she dies she did for the weapons (and ofc to protect her family, but that is also reason why she wants weapons in the first place so by proxy same thing anyways)
And you know its black rose because in her final moments when "black rose" grabs her she admits that ambessa was quite an adversary meaning this whole time they were beefing
And Singed is going to say what ever it takes to Ambessa, just so she gives him an opportunity to save his child through Viktor.
Well she kinda did make a deal with Viktor she asked him to evolve her soliders in return for her help in attack on Piltover and he said he will evolve all those who are willing

So Ambessa was more or less collateral damage in that scene. Everything got taken out by Mel except for herself, of course. Mel had to sacrifice her own mother in that scene. At least that‘s how I understood it. I might be entirely wrong, though.
This was my interpretation as well. That's why Ambessa says she is the wolf... Because she was willing to kill her to win.
He stated that those thorn chains couldn't have killed her that easily as she didn't look like she was that close to dying. And I simply argued that it wasn't the chains that killed Ambessa, but the magic of Mel. Of course, that implies, just as you said, that Mel is responsible for her mother's death. So....yeah XD

There U are again
Haven't forgiven him for fucking up Vi and Jinx first reunion in season 1 which could possibly have had a way different outcome.
I was more upset with Cait to be honest for rebounding with Maddie. The betrayal surprised me, but still made sense considering how Cait immediately went back Vi when they reunite towards the end (in every meaning of the word).
He more assisted with saving. Jayce and Viktor kinda saved everyone.
Nah you're way off base. The shock value of the initial moment stirred people up, but the act 3 romantic development - and how Cait treated her towards the end will vindicate anybody who was upset or shook by it. Only the Maddie simps are the ones quite vocal about their displeasure.
Everything points to jinx still being alive, phenomenal series (explanation in replies)

Viktor's journey to me was perfect. It felt real how he became who he was near the end and
Old Viktor putting Jayce on the journey to "help him" and then Viktor seeing all of that in his memories perfectly completes his characters journey and reaches the end basically.

I think if they spread out season 2 into 4 acts it would have been perfectly paced.
Agreed
Yes, too much going on all of the time
The 1 act almost stopped me ngl
i totally agree
Idk. for me it comes off as im14andthisisdeep. I wish they'd just use instrumentals instead becuase the music was too overpowering.

The flaws are because Netflix kinda cancelled the show so the shoved 2 seasons into 1 there was supposed to be a third season

"a love letter to animation"- that is what Arcane feels like. And I love that feeling.
That was 4 frames per second which was metaphor to ekko rewinding 4 seconds back

Also Ambessa is one of those characters that spouts a lot of "wisdom" and ends up falling into her own trap
@@GigaLigma I also don't understand her love for Rictus. Rictus is a tool to her, the best one she has, sure, but still a tool.
Charlie doesn’t explain things like a wannabe critic, he explains things like a good friend would.
I'd definitely take him over the critical drinker or nostalgia critic.
And he's right. Season 2 was great, but pretty messy. Season 1 was way more tight in terms of storytelling.
Thus ending the hate between all of them
@@therevenge7 Thank God someone gets it
This !
For everyone who is also into the Lore of Runeterra, Arcane is even more insane with all their hints and they way they portrait different characters.

Vi would literally give up anything for Jinx and people really think she would ever let Jinx kill herself, like what show have you guys been watching?
I disagree. I think it was conveyed pretty clearly that Vi knew what Jinx was planning cuz, while talking to Cait, she mentioned something about "losing everyone". She also kinda broke down after hearing what Jinx said before leaving which I doubt she would have if she thought she was just tricked again.
@@siegeah7754losing everyone doesn’t mean everyone dying. I think it just meant that jinx had lost herself again and was leaving
I straight up think he missed the detail where taking Victor to the hexgate was a part of their deal. He gives Ambessa supersoldiers in return.
That’s a good point. Immortal mages powerful enough to overthrow an immortal tyrant would really give Victor a run for his money, in theory.
That would only make sense if she wasn’t aware of the extent of Viktor’s power. Bro became a god and had world ending powers.

Hence, I would not say, that Vi understood what Jinx meant with "breaking the cycle". Like from Vi's pov, that could mean something positive like walking away from violence or supporting them (just not in a normal manner).
