Was absolutely mesmerized by this podcast, Dr. I had a VSG surgery in Nov. 2016. Lost 60 lbs. Today, I have gained back 60% of it. I want to try to stop the weight gain and reverse this process. Should I make an appointment with the Surgeon who did my surgery and ask for his opinion or guidance? If not, what or where should I go to ? Thank You for being so informative and entertaining!😀
I have to buy Dr. Weiner’s book, I have been told it is very good. Love Dr. Weiner, he explains things so very well like no other doctor that I have encountered. God bless Dr. Weiner always, he is magnificent at explaining different topics about the BARIATRIC surgery and some other things related to it. This is why I follow him 100% and follow his advice and suggestions because they do work! Hats off to you Dr. Weiner, you are a wonderful physician. 👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌🙌👌👌👌👌👏👏👏👏👏♥️♥️♥️♥️
Dr Matt, I've become disabled after two major auto accidents that have left me in chronic pain and severely restricted my mobility. I suffer hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, and hormone imbalance after a hysterectomy in 2014. Over the last few years, I gained weight, and my Drs all stressed to me how important it is to lose it. I just ate less and less. In time, I developed atypical anorexia in an attempt to lose weight, because I felt that food restriction was the ONLY option I really had, as I can't ambulate much, until pain drives me into stopping. The weight doesn't budge. I've become su*c*d*l over it more than once. No one seems to understand how much this is impacting my life. I feel like my time is running out to change. Sleep apnea is bad and I'm watching helplessly as my health deteriorates. As a man who has a passion for this subject, is there _ANYTHING_ you can do for someone like me who has ALL the willpower in the world, but has little support and just needs a starting point? 😭 I don't want to d** this way.
I'm so sorry to hear about what you are going through. The good news is that exercise has a lot less to do with weight loss than diet. Eating less is not the answer as it only causes your metabolism to slow down. Please watch my videos and read my book, A Pound of Cure. Start the Metabolic Reset Diet (MRD) on page 20 of my book. Focus on eating as many fruits and vegetables as possible. Not only will this trigger weight loss but it will maximize health. Good luck... You CAN do this!! Also, if you are located in CA, AZ, TX, MI, NY, or FL, we have a weight management program using GLP-1 medications and can offer guidance through telemedicine. Check it out here: www.poundofcureweightloss.com/glp1-medications/
@@backtoasimplelife Fruit does contain sugar, but nature packages it with fiber and hundreds of antioxidants that keep your metabolism running and serves to lower your metabolic thermostat's set point. Starchy vegetables like potatoes, corn, turnips, should be limited to 1-2 servings daily.
The fruits we have now are not as nature intended. They are a result of selction to enhance sugar, increase plant pulp and reduce seed size. They are extremely high in sugar and unhealthy. Most growers do not practice regenerative farming, so the nutrients are not going to be there either. The least sugary fruits are berries and avocado. People who have issues with blood sugar should avoid fruits. Fruits in general are not going to be healthy options. @@apoundofcure
The Metabolic Reset Diet is available in my book, "A Pound of Cure". I also have a ton of videos guiding step-by-step on my website which are even more thorough than the book. Check it out at courses.poundofcureweightloss.com/
I’ve had anorexia for 2 years, lost 20kg and have been eating less than 500 cals a day for months, any tips to fix metabolism is so appreciated. Should I start lifting weights?

Gastric bypass, post op - now hate the thought of chocolate, even writing it makes me feel yuck, I used to eat it till there was none left in the house

@@apoundofcureAren't fruits high sugar foods that contribute to weight gain? Some veggies are starchy too.

Great question! Complicated answer. I’ll put it on our list to be answered, in-depth, on an upcoming episode of The Pound of Cure Weight Loss Podcast.

Your surgeon would have done bloods as that is picked up even in basic bloods .. so no he won’t get in trouble lol
