I've been a vegetarian since 2005 and have switched over to Mediterranean this month. I can't imagine getting only 2.5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day. I typically get at least 12-15 a day, even after starting a Mediterranean diet. I can easily get 6-7 servings in one smoothie. Americans must be seriously constipated. Wow
This diet/meal plan is really hard for single people I think. The cost of buying all those fruits and veg, just for one person, is tough. I still try though! I loved this video, thank you
Suggestion: you could bulk make the meals and either freeze some for another day or keep some in the fridge for a quick meal. Also instead of fresh veg, canned or frozen veg could replace some of the fresh veg/fruit ingredients as they are much cheaper.
I do get this comment often and I know it is harder when you are cooking for one. We are working on more recipes that can be easily made for a few meals, but are small serving sizes. I do agree with the other comment that freezing some food is a great method. We have a large freezer that is almost full for Wintertime.

Hello there! I am starting on this diet and was wondering if there was anything I would have to eliminate from it as a person with Hidradenitis suppurativa. This journey has been super painful, and I’m so ready to live a life where it’s not as bad through eating healthy and exercising healthy habits. ♥️
my dermatologist said mediterranean food is great for HD, but limit the bread and focus more on the fish, olives and olive oil and veggies...that being said I am not a doctor
thank you for your great channel ! i hope you know that you are changing lives with this content. so i hope you are making a gazillion dollars from you tube for your efforts. all the best.
I love your videos and try to follow this way of eating but because I have IBS I find it difficult to adapt because I cant eat onions, garlic, beans and lentils. I would really appreciate a video on how to do this with IBS. 😊
All the meals look delicious. If I’m reading it right, your Shakshuka recipe, for instance, recommends 4-6 eggs for one serving (1x). That seems like a lot of eggs. I presume it’s a large serving and there will be plenty left over for next day’s lunch? I live alone, so I need to adapt the recipes for one.
I'm going to the hospital in a week to have my gallbladder removed. 7% functionality. I destroyed it. I hope that this kind of lifestyle change will keep the symptoms down. Bad thing is my boyfriend is picky. I hope I can get him on board at least just a little.
Picky significant others can be a real pain in the butt 😂❤ my husband MUST have meat in his meals so I have to adjust to add more chicken and other lean meat to our meals. I'm sure you can make small modifications like this to help your boyfriend be more open to the idea. Good luck! Edit: I also destroyed my gallbladder from years of eating highly processed stuff and very little food of nutritional value. It decided to get inflamed and sent me to the ER with excruciating pain and an emergency surgery 😢 Higher fat will be okay if you take your time, but be prepared to need the bathroom during the time your body needs to adjust. Your liver will adjust to the bile need in time.
Hello! I'm new to the Mediterranean diet, just bought a cookbook and found this channel. What I'm confused with right now is knowing how many dishes to make for a meal. Example: Lunch Warm wheat berries with zucchini, red pepper & oregano Dinner Stuffed eggplant with bulgur Zucchini ribbon salad with shaved parmesan Do these sound like 2 complete meals? I'm not trying to gain weight (muscle only) and I'm a bit confused knowing if it's too much/not enough. Thanks!
Track the macros. Basically find out how many calories and how many fats proteins are in it. If you're getting the right amount of protein fats and nutrients, then it's a perfectly full meal
I need to lose weight, my husband needs to gain weight, my son is allergic/ANA to dairy, and we're poor as heck! I want to be mostly plant based as well but my husband does not. I think Mediterranean looks like it may be more adjustable for us but I have to skip all the delicious dairy. Just found your channel, thanks for all the info!
I loved the fact that you said in Mediterranean diet there is a lot of meat and potatoes at the same time my mom was in the kitchen cooking meat and potatoes but with tomatoes and cucumbers onion and beans salad 😂
I do a lazy version of pan con tomatoe. I drizzle some olive oil on toast, rub a cut garlic clove over the toast surface and then rub a halved raw tomato over the toast, squeezing the juice and seeds onto the toast. Add salt, a little Parmesan and fresh basil and scoff!
Are there suggestions for replacing onions and garlic? I’ve been wanting to do this diet for autoimmune issues and weight management, but I am sensitive to them, so I dunno where to start, as most recipes I find use them.
Sorry- my wife of 34 years is from Sardegna and while they do eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, they ALSO eat plenty of red meat, pork, and poultry and also seafood and different cheeses. I know this because we also lived in Rome and spend a lot of time in Sardegna and see this first hand wherever we go. Just a personal testimonial from decades of experience.
Hi, Andrew. Do you suppose it could be western or other influence or have they always eaten that way? I'm thinking the diet with less would be easier on the digestive system! I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the info, tho.

Hello there! I am starting on this diet and was wondering if there was anything I would have to eliminate from it as a person with Hidradenitis suppurativa. This journey has been super painful, and I’m so ready to live a life where it’s not as bad through eating healthy and exercising healthy habits. ♥️
I'm here because I too have HS and was looking to reduce my flares and get overall healthy. This journey has been painful and I'm tired of it.
my dermatologist said mediterranean food is great for HD, but limit the bread and focus more on the fish, olives and olive oil and veggies...that being said I am not a doctor
thank you for your great channel ! i hope you know that you are changing lives with this content. so i hope you are making a gazillion dollars from you tube for your efforts. all the best.
This is the best video to get a really good idea of HOW to eat
Yes, thank you you’re authentic 👍🏼🫶🏼💖💖💖
I’m trying this diet for fertility 😊
Thank you very much
You are welcome
I love your videos and try to follow this way of eating but because I have IBS I find it difficult to adapt because I cant eat onions, garlic, beans and lentils. I would really appreciate a video on how to do this with IBS. 😊
Sounds healthy and delicious, Thanks!❤
All the meals look delicious. If I’m reading it right, your Shakshuka recipe, for instance, recommends 4-6 eggs for one serving (1x). That seems like a lot of eggs. I presume it’s a large serving and there will be plenty left over for next day’s lunch? I live alone, so I need to adapt the recipes for one.
The recipe serves 4 so it’s 1 to 1 1/2 eggs per serving.
Yes 🙌 my favorite cuisine and now I know why ❤
Example:
Lunch
Warm wheat berries with zucchini, red pepper & oregano
Dinner
Stuffed eggplant with bulgur
Zucchini ribbon salad with shaved parmesan
Do these sound like 2 complete meals? I'm not trying to gain weight (muscle only) and I'm a bit confused knowing if it's too much/not enough. Thanks!
Track the macros. Basically find out how many calories and how many fats proteins are in it. If you're getting the right amount of protein fats and nutrients, then it's a perfectly full meal
I've been eating a mostly Mediterranean diet for the past few years. I say mostly because I have a hard time giving up butter and mayo.
It's real easy to make mayonnaise and you just use olive oil. Let the egg come to room temperature before you crack it open to mix with the oil.
This is excellent!
I loved the fact that you said in Mediterranean diet there is a lot of meat and potatoes at the same time my mom was in the kitchen cooking meat and potatoes but with tomatoes and cucumbers onion and beans salad 😂
Could you please do more recipes for lacto-vegetarians? I eat cheese but no meat or eggs. Thanks!
Great video, tx for sharing n8c3 recipes.
Australia 🇦🇺
the key seems to lbe lots of olive oil all the time to add flavor and mostly to add the fat that keep you full and satiated.
Pasta?! Good for you? Yay!
Thank you so much sir!
Glad I found your channel! I have a question about feta cheese, what other cheese can you use in replace of feta if your not a big feta fan?
How about goat cheese or Gouda?
Can we use extra virgin olive oil for cooking ?
I like your video. I do have a question. What is the protein count for each day? It seems very low in protein.
I love the leftovers idea!! I hate to have to think I must have something different each day.
Are there suggestions for replacing onions and garlic? I’ve been wanting to do this diet for autoimmune issues and weight management, but I am sensitive to them, so I dunno where to start, as most recipes I find use them.
thank you so much, this was soooo helpful
Sorry- my wife of 34 years is from Sardegna and while they do eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, they ALSO eat plenty of red meat, pork, and poultry and also seafood and different cheeses. I know this because we also lived in Rome and spend a lot of time in Sardegna and see this first hand wherever we go. Just a personal testimonial from decades of experience.
Nope. This is a traditional Mediterranean diet which is historically and undebatably light on red meat. You're wrong and uneducated.
Thank you Andrew
Hi, Andrew. Do you suppose it could be western or other influence or have they always eaten that way? I'm thinking the diet with less would be easier on the digestive system! I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the info, tho.
That bread w marinara sounded similar to bruschetta which I love.
It's a Spanish (specifically Catalan) dish, I believe (he called it Italian)
This is great!
love thank you!
Great information
Thank you

Love the idea of eating left overs the next day
I don't see where the recipes are. Could you please guide me how to access the recipes. I really enjoyed this video and interested to try Mediterranean eating idea.
Hi there. You'll need to click on the description and it does give a list of each day and the recipes.
Yup me too 🫤🤔 thought it was going to be some cooking 😊
What best meal prep do you suggest, I have fatty liver, and my Dr is on my ass about how I eat . So please point me in the right direction. So I preferred to purchase a meal prep that specializes in Meditation meals for fatty liver. Thx
I dont think Mediterranean diet is right for me. I looove my American foods too much, butt I'm open to try anything, and Ill gladly add some of these meals into my meal planning. Especially any meals that involve eggs.
