A couple things I noticed which I thought I could chime in on: In my EK B20 swap I used a 94-01 Integra shift linkage and had no issues You can use all your stock single cam mounts so long as you use a 2 bolt post mount, make sure it's the short one! My son and I are building a 96 hatch. We started with the B18 swap but had a boat anchor for a motor. Got a JDM B20 and poked it in. Edelbrock intake manifold, Skunk2 Alpha header, AEM dual chamber intake. Car actually moves pretty good! Car also has every suspension bushing replaced along with various Skunk2/Meghan Racing components. Just needs body/paint although it is still presentable. I tell anyone who wants to work on a car for the first time to buy a Honda, so nice to work on and very affordable. This is the first car I've actually built from the ground up having put my dirty mitts on literally every bolt in the car. Awesome video, sorry for the rant.

I've done a lot of B series swaps. You can use the D series motor mounts all of them. All you need is that t bracket and the driver side engine post mount. The Integra shift linkage works great if you get the one from a Type R it's usually gold or the GSR. It works way better than the EM1 shift linkage for sure.
Dam beautiful work. I know for a fact 96-98 civics have a hard time staying alive. Also fa5 civic will always be lost. Idk why but those years always develop a problem being crash or motor blow out. I think those years are cursed.

if you follow the wires on the jumper harness, you'll see most jumper harnesses merge the a12 and a14 so that you don't have to do the iacv conversion on the ecu side. I noticed this on my harness after I did the conversion

Awesome vid bro. I have a 97 hx coupe and as soon as the current d motor in it dies, I'll be putting in a b series. I was most worried about the wire harness compatibility but this helped quite a bit. Good stuff.

Judging from the headlights it's a 96, I don't think the 98 had the bubble on the corner, but I could be wrong and the smoother headlight was on a 99. I've owned like 20 Civics since 2004 but somehow now I mess with v8 Mustangs but still love my Hondas and have tons of knowledge.. Fastest I ever dropped a b20 into a DC Teg was 45 minutes but that was without taking out the old engine however I used a shift linkage I got from a buddy and the shifter sat to high forward in the console so I might of had a non b series one...nice job man
If you use the harness from the Y7 Good luck with the Idle air control valve wiring conversion its a pain in the ass converting it at the ecu and having it work properly
So if I crashed my car and it had a VTEC build I can’t use that same hairness for example Integra to civic if it’s the same motor. Just so I know what I need to possibly buy
its probably the secondary o2 sensor i didn't see you tucking that up anywhere which is usually the route i did leave for a few minutes tho so maybe i missed it .
You use a eg or integra engine mount motor side ek are different your engine Will sit a little bit lower and you Will be not able to install the lower torque mount
I'm doing a b20b swap on my 99 ek hatch and I was using the stock crv intake manifold (short one with plenum) and I can't seem to find the plug for the IAT sensor on my harness but I see the sensor on the opposite side of the intake manifold. Wasn't quite sure what to do there 😅

@@javziovaldez3024 But if the K swap is more reliable with boost and the k24 is a cheap swap if you search and pull all the parts yourself…except for mounts. VTEC b swap is more expensive then a K now. And H is Super Rare now. 👍🏼
Hey man I was wondering if you would ever do a video talking about how to actually own a modified car. With smog laws And such for example this car. How it pass smog ? Is the smog tech gonna realize it not the stock motor do you do paper work to make the swap legit ? So on and so on. Cause I want to modify my car but I don't even think it's possible living in CA or you guy just jnow how to navigate that
Hey as for your ? You can swap any b series jdm swap in ek sedan or hatch but you'll need us 🇺🇸 oil pump for crank sensor to work with wiring harness in us 🇺🇸 and integra charcoal vacuum pump to be bard legal if I'm not mistaken 😉

I just got a b18c1 whole swap and I have a ex shell with an hx motor. Your saying the linkage that came with the gsr will fit in my ex shell?

@@liamtomlin5151 steering is easy. Use si pump and b series bracket.... If it's a p75 head you can use the ek pump with crv bracket.

my ek swapped b20b doesnt want to stay turned on it starts strong and then dies off immediately after

Took me two weeks as well. Came down to crv p/s bracket and the passenger side axle. Otherwise I had everything else from an Ls integra 😂🎉

Use the torque mounts on an Ek. If you don’t the driver side mount bolt holes on the frame tend to rip off if you don’t.

When I had my 05 civic Dx I did a swap with 06 civic Hx vetch plug 🔌 n play,whit no experience I ran my vetch wires from the ecu to the vetch solenoid

When I do a swap that deep I pull the dash and do the heater core based on the age of the car and motor already out
