Exactly, the other shows I've seen do it were either subtle about it or made a joke out of it. This team is riding the coattails of a previous show's success, and that's my issue with it. I'm all for cartoon creators including themselves in some way or another but these guys haven't done anything worthy of the name Powerpuff. It just seems to me that they're too lazy to come up with unique names so they just put their own in to fill the gaps.
I would give you a perfect example is Gintama. The author insert himself with his REAL NAME but with a twist, he's a GORILLA in a casual suit. He's now in the top 20 most popular character of the series. He barely appear but one he appeared, it was glorious. Yeah, himself as a joke yet became a pretty damn popular character. That's how you did it right.
Mono Chaos Except the reboot basically redefined Blossom as "the smart one" and she still refuses to take her meds without a song. I could maybe see Bubbles doing it but not Blossom.

You know what, the reboot just changed Buttercup's personality, making her a jerk who cares more about what she wants rather than her sisters and their well-being. I still remember in the original where the girls and the Rowdy Ruff Boys fought again and were under the control of Him where their kisses didn't affect the boys anymore and instead made the boys larger. During the fight, the boys got to Bubbles and put this weird green thing down her back (I think it was a slug, but I was like 7 or 8 when I watched it so idk) and they laughed at her as Bubbles was in tears. Buttercup saw this, got super pissed, and proceeded to come to her rescue. Buttercup was never a jerk, sure she had her moments as we all do in life, but she genuinely cared about her sisters. In the reboot, she's just a bully and not the Buttercup I remember.
Kawaii Blue Neko I agree! Buttercup was the one who cared about her sisters the most. When Bubbles went against her sisters because she thought she was Mojo Jojo, Buttercup stopped Blossom from beating Bubbles up. She saved Bubbles from the burning meteor in Ice Sore too. Also when Al Lusion attacked Blossom, Buttercup went after him. There were moments when she picked on her sisters, like stepping on Bubbles’ chalk but overall I’d say out of the three girls, she’s the most protective one.
Buttercup still cares about her sisters, it's just that she cares about _herself_ more, at least that's what the producers are showing us. I feel like Reboot buttercup has a simalar personality as Reboot Raven from Teen titans go. When something pisses her off, her reaction is plain and boring, and she also says "whatever" a lot, but when something pisses off OG Buttercup, she'll actually do something about it. So in addition to what you've said, Buttercup has a _really_ dull personality.
Did yo notice Buttercup got away with what she did there? She may actually have had a legitimate reason to stay home from school but she never even learned her lesson, plus the Professor never found out about his daughters' antics! You gotta admit that at least karma bit her in the butt(ercup) and she ended up ill too. I think this episode was a true example of Buttercup living up to the first 4 letters of her name.

I keep coming back to your reviews when I'm doing binge watches while working and finding new things. Okay....I draw and I know there are things that I miss and CORRECT along the way but the part where Schedule-Bot is looking at the clock? The next shot shows that the tongue and inner mouth color are missing. *HOW IN THE EVERY LOVING FUCK DO THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF ART DIRECTION HAVE FUCKING JOBS WITH THIS MANY FUCKING ERRORS!* THIS is not the 80s anyomore! I know animation errors will always be a thing but this shit has more errors than 1980s/early 90s cartoons which were RIFE with errors due to the fact that the shows were done by HAND and it was easier for lower cost productions to have cels that were miscolored and sent out anyway. There was ALWAYS a risk for cel animation because in most cases you COULD NOT go back and instantly correct the trouble spot in one go, especially when you're on a deadline. Digital animation has the ABILITY to be corrected even after an episode AIRS and in a lot of cases, entire sequences can be reanimated and dubbed over for rebroadcasting (DERPY INCIDENT ANYONE?!) There are a MILLION small mistakes in the reboot that can be edited over and corrected but for some reason they choose NOT to. What makes this even more aggravating is that no other show on CN seems to have this many issues with animation. Yes, there are errors in all shows but there is something so odd about how THIS show can have so many that are right in your face that no one takes the time to fix, especially for a franchise that CN is so adamant on making relevant again. All this animation errors makes this show look so much worse than it already is.

Kinda weird how a previous episode established that they were tone-deaf, but maybe they had singing lessons or meant to be a joke? They call Blossom's powfactor "leadership" but she is anything but. As for Bubbles, "kindness". Odd how her kindness is barely brought up now, though. Finally for Buttercup, hers is "strength", and yet she is a total weakling, it'd make a good drinking game as to how many times she and the other two will go down in one hit.

People are right when they compare this show to TTG but with TTG, there was never any real intention with that show BUT to be STUPID. Being STUPID was its purpose from day one and it never tried to be deep, meaningful or whatever the fuck the headwriters of this show have bragged about. We were told that the reboot of this series would be 'more intelligent', 'character driven' and so on than the older show, with the main chick in charge trying her to make it sound like she was a better writer than Craig and Lauren with the choices she made. From what has been show, she is a terrible writer and director and has created something not unlike those REALLY, REALLY shitty edutainment shows from the last leg of the 90s and the early 2000s, the ones that talked down to kids and were trying so fucking hard to be hip and cool but doing nothing to really engage ANYONE who watched it, kids or the adults who had to watch the shows with them alike. We have entered a new age where it is more important to proclaim yourself as some sort of activist in whatever cause than actually PRODUCING something that is worth the energy of even watching, at least for the entertainment value anyway. I have a strong feeling that nearly EVERYONE on the team for this reboot were chosen for their tasks not because of their TALENT but because their opinions were in line with the heads at CN. How else can the braintrust of this show act like a total jerk to critique on Twitter and NOT be reprimanded by those in charge to stop instigating people about a show they're trying to make as much money off of as possible. Had it been someone else, they would have been warned or at the worst FIRED for sparking up online vitrol but she gets to keep running her mouth all the while making one of the most PATHETIC attempts of a reboot I have ever seen. I mean, the most recent illnesses the world was freaking out about was Ebola and most recently Zika but granted, making a childish joke about those may be pushing it so WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU WANT TO DO IT ANYWAY? Granted, I can see them trying to play with the whole idea of the girls turning into pigs because of it but if they wanted a monster animal they could have simply made them turn into freakish monster chickens with destructive powers with a simple notion of the chicken pox. Judge Judy/Trudy is another one. Why does this show bring up possible good stories only to trip up. WHY?! Seriously the girls getting a disease that may have a weird effect with their powers would have been a nice idea. The only time I could think of them getting sick in the previous series, it was taken seriously when the Ameoba Boys nearly killed everyone with their germs. Also I think Buttercup could've worked in this episode if it wasn't done to extreme levels. I know some people that take advantage when attending to a sick person so in a way her behavior makes sense but like you said Blossom and Bubbles could have easily told the Professor that she was slacking off. Maybe if the sickness made them delirious or immobile then it would make more sense. Also why would Professor not get a babysitter? He asked Mojo to babysit one time so what the heck? Sorry this episode bored you, Mr. Streak.
Exactly, I too was open to the idea as long as it was different enough from Geshundfight that it didn't seem like a direct copy the way most other episodes have been in the past. And as for the dull vibes I got from it, well, almost every show's got them. Not every episode of a show will entertain me and this just happened to fall into that group. I've seen plenty of other people like/hate it more than me so they must've seen something I didn't.
Well, we had gone from three decent/good episodes to one terrible episode with more self-inserts from egotistical writers, poor execution of a plot that might actually work if done well, and bad animation. R.I.P. the streak. Hopefully we'll get four decent/good episodes in a row next time.

These people call themselves professionals yet can't write, storyboard or set of a scene and try to cover it up with as much distractions as possible. The face was a DISTRACTION so they DIDN'T have to do something as simple as just putting a scene together correctly.

She IS more or less the 5 year old girly version of Raph and the thing about Raph is while he did have his ticks, he LEARNED from his mistakes which is why despite how gruff he can be you still find something to like about him and he does stick up for his brothers and fight for those who need it.
I don't know what kind of goblin they've turned Buttercup into but she is such an ASSHOLE.
If anything, had Buttercup been in charge I could see her complaining but I could see her being 'tough' with her idea of cures. Like she would think the best way to beat an illness is to get STRONG and her mistake would be possibly overworking the already tired girls or making extreme cures (super hot chicken soup with chilies in it, orange juice mixed with coffee for vitamin C and energy, bracing cold showers to 'freeze' the fever, ect) and maybe she would use the excuse to stay out of school but the MOMENT she was put in charge she would have been running it and in the end, SHE would have gotten sick because she ran herself out trying to help her sisters.
People are right when they compare this show to TTG but with TTG, there was never any real intention with that show BUT to be STUPID. Being STUPID was its purpose from day one and it never tried to be deep, meaningful or whatever the fuck the headwriters of this show have bragged about. We were told that the reboot of this series would be 'more intelligent', 'character driven' and so on than the older show, with the main chick in charge trying her to make it sound like she was a better writer than Craig and Lauren with the choices she made. From what has been show, she is a terrible writer and director and has created something not unlike those REALLY, REALLY shitty edutainment shows from the last leg of the 90s and the early 2000s, the ones that talked down to kids and were trying so fucking hard to be hip and cool but doing nothing to really engage ANYONE who watched it, kids or the adults who had to watch the shows with them alike.
We have entered a new age where it is more important to proclaim yourself as some sort of activist in whatever cause than actually PRODUCING something that is worth the energy of even watching, at least for the entertainment value anyway. I have a strong feeling that nearly EVERYONE on the team for this reboot were chosen for their tasks not because of their TALENT but because their opinions were in line with the heads at CN. How else can the braintrust of this show act like a total jerk to critique on Twitter and NOT be reprimanded by those in charge to stop instigating people about a show they're trying to make as much money off of as possible. Had it been someone else, they would have been warned or at the worst FIRED for sparking up online vitrol but she gets to keep running her mouth all the while making one of the most PATHETIC attempts of a reboot I have ever seen. Seriously, the only time CN has stepped up to actually correct something was when the creator of Clarence groped one of the employees and they got rid of him because no one should deal with this shit. They should at least tell writers to back it off and keep drama about their projects off-line if they're going to act like jackasses over it.

I mean, the most recent illnesses the world was freaking out about was Ebola and most recently Zika but granted, making a childish joke about those may be pushing it so WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU WANT TO DO IT ANYWAY? Granted, I can see them trying to play with the whole idea of the girls turning into pigs because of it but if they wanted a monster animal they could have simply made them turn into freakish monster chickens with destructive powers with a simple notion of the chicken pox. No need to dig up the hysteria of an illness fear that has since died out from media coverage.
What is up with this show and trying to make jokes of shit that has long since fallen out of popularity? Judge Judy/Trudy is another one. Yes, the show is still on but making jokes about her have long since faded and I don't know a lot of kids who watch the show by themselves as for MOST OF US, we had the unfortunate luck of being stuck with a bunch of other adults and having to endure that trash for an hour against our choice.

I guess if they just wanted to go with monster pigs....okay? But if they're trying to bring back 'memories' for the sake of sounding cool they were better off just using monster chickens. How much funnier would the episode had been if Bubbles and Blossom turned into giant chickens that had POWERS and just went nuts? It would give us the action we WANT to see as well as give Buttercup more of a reason to be so hectic and a little nervous to get them back (take note that Buttercup couldn't just LIFT the girls up and fly them back considering they're SUPPOSED to be strong enough to lift a bus over their heads. Guess not anymore. =\)
It actually makes sense that the professor would work at a corn company, he could enhance the corn to get better profits. but for profits? seems like a waste to me.

Why does this show bring up possible good stories only to trip up. WHY?! Seriously the girls getting a disease that may have a weird effect with their powers would have been a nice idea. The only time I could think of them getting sick in the previous series, it was taken seriously when the Ameoba Boys nearly killed everyone with their germs. Also I think Buttercup could've worked in this episode if it wasn't done to extreme levels. I know some people that take advantage when attending to a sick person so in a way her behavior makes sense but like you said Blossom and Bubbles could have easily told the Professor that she was slacking off. Maybe if the sickness made them delirious or immobile then it would make more sense. Also why would Professor not get a babysitter? He asked Mojo to babysit one time so what the heck? Sorry this episode bored you, Mr. Streak.
Exactly, I too was open to the idea as long as it was different enough from Geshundfight that it didn't seem like a direct copy the way most other episodes have been in the past. And as for the dull vibes I got from it, well, almost every show's got them. Not every episode of a show will entertain me and this just happened to fall into that group. I've seen plenty of other people like/hate it more than me so they must've seen something I didn't.

I fell like the animators wanted to reference anime like a lot of other CN shows have been doing, but were too lazy/uncreative to do anything more than have Buttercups lip-syncing look like they ripped it from a bad English dub.
Mhm yeah that is possible, but if they were trying to do that they did a bad job at setting it up. There's no reference or connection to it anywhere else in the entire thing.
It was forced and lazy and we've seen their previous attempts at trying to be stylistic fail because they shove it in at times where it doesn't call for it and thus makes everything look grating and trying to hard to be 'RANDOOOOOM'
Gumball did a better anime parody, with animation and everything, during the massive Mom vs Mom battle. I don't know what the fuck they were trying to do here.

These people call themselves professionals yet can't write, storyboard or set of a scene and try to cover it up with as much distractions as possible. The face was a DISTRACTION so they DIDN'T have to do something as simple as just putting a scene together correctly.
