Learned HH from your iceborne tutorial and now im a big HH main. Being able to get a 9 minute solo time on alatreon with a "support" weapon is just so fascinating and fun to me.
Seeing this is what made fall in love with the HH since 3 Ultimate. World/Iceborne really brought out the nest of the weapon as a whole. Thank you so much for creating this. HH for life.
"Yes, I do play Support Hunting Horn" No its not what your thinking. I'm not a healer horn dooting in the corner or existing solely to give you attack up XL. I'm crit status paralysis Hunting Horn, the most criminally underrated and fun build in the game (just mix safi 3 piece with Artian 2 piece and Safi's Bind horn). You hit the moster with like 900 points of paralysis buildup on the first hit instantly sending it into spasms and proceed to paralyze it like 3 or 4 more times across the hunt. Its insane how much status buildup hunting horn can do in World.
As a hunting horn main I don't see how calling it a 'support weapon' is an insult, it is an incredibly powerful weapon but support is a very important roll to play in an RPG like monster hunter.
I did not say its an insult. Its just funny the way the field team leader introduced the weapon when u pull it out for the first time. Many players are put off by it cause they thought support weapon meant support role, which definitely is not the case here. There are no roles to play in mhw, its not a role based mmo type of game. But since it does come with buffs which is a form of support, calling it support weapon isn’t exactly wrong imo

Like healing in mmos, supporting in team games etc. I also tried supporting in mh before, until i realized mh doesn’t really need supports. I don’t really mind ppl who want to tho, the whole joke here is just how the npc introduces the weapon and many ppl mistook it as a weapon that isn’t viable in solo hahahaha.

Mained GS the whole way in Iceborne and in the end I challenged myself to play all the weapons Out of all of em, I fell in love with SnS and HH the most as they just feel really fun GS had the big thunk-a-dunks while the HH has consistent BONKS that just feel so satisfying to use Might just use the HH more often since it damn-well made me smile the whole way while hunting!

People tend to forget the second word but just as it is for "Support" it is also called a "Weapon". It's in the name itself: "Hunting" Horn. It's just as much as a monster bonking tool as it is a musical instrument. Doing only one part of its name and not the other is a disservice to yourself and to the weapon.

I don’t know, have you tried a sleep horn? If you play with friends it’s super fun to wake up a monster 4 times in a fight to wake him with bombs and ultimates. Tho I agree that unless I’m using a very niche horn I always look for attack up L
You hunting horn players impressed me today as a greatsword main. I was always curious what happened to HH players but now ik what they been up too lol!
So ive been a great sword main for all 20 years of mh and have naybe 2k hours in hirn, would consider myself descent-good but this is a great example of how high the skill ceiling in monster hunter really is! Motivated me to start a new world playthrough and grab the horn and see how good it was and damn was i suprised. I skippd using it in world and sunbreak tilll my second pkaythrough which i put a good700 hours in but sunbreak felt very arcady to me. It had some nice inpeovements but wilds horn looks so peak feom what ive seen! Keep up the good work man! ❤
Haha. I still had some fun with Rise HH but this World HH was more fun and satisfying when played correctly. In World it’s actually easy to differentiate good & bad HH gameplay. But in Rise i feel like everyone looks almost the same
Everyone loves to play with a proper HH player. The Buffs are so great and everyone likes it. Never stand back and just use your Melodies. Nice Montage.

Pro tip for if you’re struggling with directional inputs: set your directional input type to 2, that way your inputs are relative to your stick and not the direction of your Hunter onscreen. This makes you not have to make weird goofy adjustments in all directions just to do your normal moves.

Horns are pretty underrated imo..I can keep up with just about any other weapon in the game with HH to be completely honest..if anyone says otherwise it’s usually because they don’t understand the playstyle.
I was once on a team to hunt down an event nergigante to craft my gamma armor (Y) with a hammer user, hunting horn, heavybowgun and I was the Charge blade guy (We all had the slugger skill 3), I think it goes without saying that Nergigante couldn't get up during the entire battle it was epic.

It shows perfectly that our superior weapon of choice is a damage dealing monster if played well. ❤ My Hammer buddy and me (with two randoms) used to slay safis back than. And the one who got the "angry attention" most of the time was me, the hunter with the "Support weapon". Sometimes when this happend, I dissed him for not being chased by safi although I have the "weak" blunt damage weapon. Good old times 😂😂😂
The thing is, the reason most of these idiots say it's a support weapon is cause in the average player's hands, this weapon focuses on buffs and more technical skills, half of which being better with people. Can't really get the full benefit of a party wide buff without a party. This however, does NOT mean the weapon is useless. It just means there's a much higher skill floor when using it solo. From what I've heard, it has one of the best exhaust effects in the game, which from what I've encountered can be powerful in the right hands.

Hello, just recently started mhw, i’m on the legiana mission. I picked up HH as my starter as I’m a doot dooter by heart. Wanted to know how hard it was to get better at HH? Is it more of a needing to know the monster’s moveset and reacting to it? Thanks!
@@Diabeekei understanding both the weapon and the monster is something that applies to every weapon. I would say that HH does fine without knowing the monster very well, but once u know the monster well u can sidestep alot of attacks just by walking cause of self improvement movement speed.
hunting horn players dont look for damage they look for something to completely just ignore monster's mechanics thus letting them do even more damage and have more openings than most other players Did you know hunting horns can just ignore kushala wind and roars ye its nuts. and just completely ignore the resident evil vaal hazaak's mechanic. also they got the highest stun damage in the game the impact echo wave.. and it can be encore'd its nuts. also layering it is very important it lets you get stygian zinogre's guitar music.
Great montage. Seeing this video make me miss this definitive version of my favorite MH weapon. I think Rise version is just a shadow of it's former self and not nearly as fun. Which weapon do you enjoy the most in Sunbreak? I'm trying Lance and Switch Axe for now.
Would you happen to still have the builds you used in this video somewhere? Recently started playing hh but id love to get some references for builds cause i dont want to always run fatalis since that just becomes boring after a while. (If all of these are all builds that use like fatalis 4 piece then you don't need to bother replying as building any weapons build with fatalis 4 piece is piss easy)
i dont remember, the clips are recorded and taken randomly from actual gameplay. some of the older clips are safi set i think, after i got the fatalis set i never went back, no reason to tbh. I only ever use worse sets when i specifically do a challenge, like killing fatalis with a bone gear or jagras gear, killing alatreon completely naked etc, those are all done on stream i didnt upload the runs. I think most clips in this video are having fatalis set.
@@saibarathiravi2137 these gameplay clips are very old. I dont rmb all of it. But some of the clips in here are not from the normal iceborne, there were some streams i previously did where I tested some of the full game rebalance mods like ICE mod etc so the dmg can be higher than usual because these mods have their own dmg rebalancing for all weapons. But most of the clips would be of normal iceborne unless u see something out of the ordinary. Outside of that, u can try using fatalis horn if u wanna hit over 600
memes aside, do people actually have difficulties understanding the difference between a support class vs a support weapon? the bowguns are also considered support weapons in MH, yet in World the HBG was a broken damage beast. support weapon just means you can heal and or buff your team/ debuff the enemy with you weapon. a support class generally ONLY (or at least primarily) heals/buffs/debuffs, regardless of weapon. tldr, being a “support weapon” doesn’t mean that it not actually, you know… still a WEAPON first and foremost…
i just don't get why Horners get so triggered by calling it a support weapon. it quite literally is. support doesn't mean it's useless in a fight. if it was we wouldn't be calling it a weapon. artillery is considered a support weapon ffs.
My comfy set is usually just fatalis horn and fatalis armor 4 piece armor. Most comfy bonuses. I don’t use divine blessing but i recommend it to those who like it comfy

Hello, just recently started mhw, i’m on the legiana mission. I picked up HH as my starter as I’m a doot dooter by heart. Wanted to know how hard it was to get better at HH? Is it more of a needing to know the monster’s moveset and reacting to it? Thanks!
@@Diabeekei understanding both the weapon and the monster is something that applies to every weapon. I would say that HH does fine without knowing the monster very well, but once u know the monster well u can sidestep alot of attacks just by walking cause of self improvement movement speed.

hunting horn players dont look for damage they look for something to completely just ignore monster's mechanics thus letting them do even more damage and have more openings than most other players
Did you know hunting horns can just ignore kushala wind and roars ye its nuts. and just completely ignore the resident evil vaal hazaak's mechanic.
also they got the highest stun damage in the game the impact echo wave.. and it can be encore'd its nuts.
also layering it is very important it lets you get stygian zinogre's guitar music.

Great montage. Seeing this video make me miss this definitive version of my favorite MH weapon. I think Rise version is just a shadow of it's former self and not nearly as fun. Which weapon do you enjoy the most in Sunbreak? I'm trying Lance and Switch Axe for now.
I did still play HH through rise and sunbreak. but eventually got a little bored cause the new HH sorta lacks depth. I started playing lance more

Would you happen to still have the builds you used in this video somewhere? Recently started playing hh but id love to get some references for builds cause i dont want to always run fatalis since that just becomes boring after a while. (If all of these are all builds that use like fatalis 4 piece then you don't need to bother replying as building any weapons build with fatalis 4 piece is piss easy)
i dont remember, the clips are recorded and taken randomly from actual gameplay. some of the older clips are safi set i think, after i got the fatalis set i never went back, no reason to tbh. I only ever use worse sets when i specifically do a challenge, like killing fatalis with a bone gear or jagras gear, killing alatreon completely naked etc, those are all done on stream i didnt upload the runs. I think most clips in this video are having fatalis set.

@@saibarathiravi2137 these gameplay clips are very old. I dont rmb all of it. But some of the clips in here are not from the normal iceborne, there were some streams i previously did where I tested some of the full game rebalance mods like ICE mod etc so the dmg can be higher than usual because these mods have their own dmg rebalancing for all weapons. But most of the clips would be of normal iceborne unless u see something out of the ordinary. Outside of that, u can try using fatalis horn if u wanna hit over 600

memes aside, do people actually have difficulties understanding the difference between a support class vs a support weapon? the bowguns are also considered support weapons in MH, yet in World the HBG was a broken damage beast. support weapon just means you can heal and or buff your team/ debuff the enemy with you weapon. a support class generally ONLY (or at least primarily) heals/buffs/debuffs, regardless of weapon.
tldr, being a “support weapon” doesn’t mean that it not actually, you know… still a WEAPON first and foremost…

My comfy set is usually just fatalis horn and fatalis armor 4 piece armor. Most comfy bonuses. I don’t use divine blessing but i recommend it to those who like it comfy

Most horns with attack up L are very viable. But at end game obviously fatalis horns do the most damage.
