Just an average gamer who occasionally shares gameplay or info.
my editing skills are not the best, but I'm trying to improve through self learning. As for gameplay, everything you see on this channel will be my own gameplay unless stated. If you wish to use any of my footage please feel free to ask me, someone once stole my footage without asking and that's not very nice. It takes time and effort to make these videos.
I do not focus too heavily on "cinematic gameplay". So more often than not, my gameplay will be based on actual gameplay instead, so you will see all the game UI on the screen.

Some Issues I noticed in the Wilds Beta
This is a text essay video with no voice at all, so feel free to skip it if you're not interested in reading. These are some of the issues I noticed back then while playing the beta, and I've wanted to tell everyone about it since then. I understand that it's only the 1st open beta so many things may be fixed in the full release, OR they may not, especially if nobody brings them to attention. So that's why I wanted to contribute to the voice so that MAYBE, MAYBE Capcom will know these issues exist. Everyone just wants to carry the "positive vibes" but somebody has to point out the potential negatives.

No damage run with the starter equipment. This is an entirely new save file in NG. Nothing special, I just suddenly felt like smacking him in beginner equipment, like how we make new characters to fight Tree Sentinal in Elden Ring. Fourth and Final Secret Loong Boss. Not hard to do no hit/no damage on this boss, but also not easy to do everything perfectly as well. The longer the fight, the more likely I will make mistakes cause Im an idiot, so I just went with high damage & high crit build to kill this one, including high dps consumables. @ yeah, I don’t know why they implemented it, but it seemed like time moved way faster in the beta than it would at release, sunrises and sunsets were basically instant
Honestly some weapon is perfect some weapon dont like the changes. I like LS everyway. They did amazing job. GS is same with focus mode will be amazing to play. CB is really good. Dual blades awesome all range weapon seems still good. But most hated weapon for me is insec glaive. I hate it. Ok new tornado move seems really cool but weapons whole point get 3 buff spam that move. And that changes weapon stlye compleatly yes you dont have to spam still u can play old version but why they should add new optinal move. Ig mains honestly hate it. Lance Idk some people really liked it and say wilds verison much better. But it looks very boring weapon def not interesting like iceborne. Hunting horn I like the changes. But I will miss that spin move.
If everyone has access to a parry then maybe they won't fix the turn attack. Because then isn't there no longer a need to avoid the attack and do an instant 180? Cause you just parry instead?
I really hate what they did with the hitstop of GS (maybe of other weapons too). It now feels like cutting through air
I couldn't deactivate the item wheel... I hate it . I prefer the old Style. In world I could deactivate it and use the cam with the right stick while tooling through the items. In the beta I couldn't and that drives me crazy 😅
This is kinda why I was hesitant to like focus mode, it feels like you're incentivized to use it just to have access to movement options you've been doing freely in the previous games. Edit: 5:07 I knew I wasn't crazy, me and my friends we're literally calling that vacuum attack, thought it only happened to us.
@@KenMochii yea. Slight difference tho, focus mode not only allows u to turn at the start of an attack, u can turn any time at the middle of attack animations too which is crazier, but it forces u to look at the camera direction. The previous ability to turn doesnt allow us to turn during combos or mid animation, but allows us to snap turn before the 1st attack, which has a lot of skill expression when it comes to quick directional and positional play. As ive shown, walking right to dodge and then immediately attacking left. If capcom doesnt change it i will just adapt tho 🤣

I played the whole base and DLC learning the horn by myself but watching this gave me access to a few tricks I made by accident but now I know. The HH is so badass, i'm loving it.
RE engine is such a shitty engine. Im fighting the control more than im fighting the monster. I need to spam buttons just to make sure my character actually obey my inputs. I have to pray so my character would actually do the correct action because sometimes he don't. How can i enjoy the game if this is the case for most of the time? 🤡 Truly a shitty engine.
@@bernardking91 in this context yes, especially since the input and turning stuff started in rise, im suspecting its the engine(but cannot confirm). I wouldn’t say re engine is all out shitty tho, it made some really good games too. I had a good time with resident evil. And if im not mistaken i personally hardly crash on RE engine games compared to Unreal engine games 😂
i do quite hope this gets changed on full release. quick turn around backslam has been one of my favourite HH moves since its introduction in third gen

This video needs to reach more ppl, it really is important. I'm too sensitive to input related bugs even so that in MHW I cant play anymore without some mods to enhance the input detection. They fix Ticks and Performance issues that World has(ofc it is minimal stuff compared to these issues that u showed in the video) which enhances input detection and futher increase the amount of skill u can express in that game(not that Im that skilled xD)

I am not Ig main but I hate it I doubt will play on wilds. New move looks cool. After spam 30 time on one monster I will never enjoy it. Ig will be very boring weapon unfortunetely.
i noticed this as well in rise cause i would use the same tech on IG with triple upswing slash move (neutral att1). i guess they are just too lazy to fix it or break it so it would be in the same state as iceborne. there is also weird bug with focus mode sidestepping where if u will sidestep to the right while running forward everything is 100% fine and like in older games but if u will sidestep to the left then every time u press or release "A" on keyboard, your char will just reset its speed to 0. focus mode blocking sprint weapon sheathe is also annoying af and bonus annoying points for mounting seikret and being forced to wait like 2-3secs for your char to grab "steering straps" b4 u can swap your weapon or be able to sprint or jump from cliffs or jump off from seikret... palamutes were wayyyyyyyy more responsive and smooth with interactions
this whole game feels like the sloppiest work a monster hunter game has ever had. so much jank and nonsensical changes that werent there in previous games, terrible weapon balance, this feels like a "B team" effort from monster hunter, and not the "evolution of the franchise" this game was made out to be. the "open world" is literally just slightly bigger zones with swathes of empty space, like half of the map is just empty desert with NOTHING of interest in it. this is not monster hunter, this feels like a spin off game made by inexperienced devs. really dissapointed with it so far. hopefully this janky crap gets fixed before launch. im not getting my hopes up, i dont forsee them changing much. this feels like a worse version of rise, not the sequel to world/iceborne weve been waiting for.
can't say I agree that the whole game is a sloppy mess, I actually think it feels pretty fun to play overall. But I do agree that there is a lot of things that could use improvements or fixes because its far from perfect.

I know you're already convinced that the game is going to be trash, but I think there's a lot to look forward to in this new title. Also, I just straight up disagree with you when you say this "isn't MH". I'd actually say this game has way more MH charm than either World and Rise. MH games pre 5th Gen had a lot of tribal/backwater village aesthetics that World and Rise almost completely abandoned. This doesn't make World and Rise worse in any way, but it does mean those two games are a pretty big departure from what the series usually is. I was really impressed walking into Kunafa village seeing how they had retained the series' charm. The wind chimes literally everywhere, villagers going about their days, the 10/10 music, and the seikrets caring for their babies evoked the village aesthetic the series had lost during the 5th Gen.

With the Switch Axe I was doing a lot of times the attack that moves you backwards instead of the barrage that i wanted to do, and the barrage seems it was nerfed anyway, and the nuke doesn't stick with the monster anymore, i guess is to compensate you can counter now, and aim mode, but i personally feel is way more clunky to play now, i don't like having to go in and out of aim mode all the time to be able to use your whole kit, doesn't feel good on controller.

It's focus mode that made the kinematics janky. Plus the instability issue of the game. That's due to its texture size. Although RE ENGINE can handle it. It is not yet optimized.
Can we also talk about the timing of the clips used that matches to the beat of the theme here. Those well done steak cuts with Stars On Our Backs is CRIMINAL
i actually didn't notice the slow turning speed when i played the beta, thats really bad for HH players, move speed was one of the things HH had the most going for it
"overhead smash > dodge cancel animation into a still safe but still in range possition > rinse and repeat" it's kind of the HH's bread and butter combo as you showed in the clips, a slow turning speed actually puts a significant damper on it, i think i didn't notice it because i was trying out the new encore, which tbf it's becoming more of a part of the standard combos
@@pauloricardo-wn6ps yea its not a super big deal but i would prefer if they dont take away certain existing mechanics in favour of forcing the new gimmick lol, simple things like directional attacks shouldnt get nerfed to the ground

Maybe I'm regarded, but with CB I had trouble while trying to aim SAED. In World you can turn during SAED by like 30 degrees, but in Wilds it felt like I can't turn at all. However, you can turn even 180 at the moment you use SAED even without focus mode, which you can't do in World. So I feel like all these changes are intentional.
it appears that capcom makes a lot of the turning angle move to rely on focus mode.
@@helgenlane hmm yea im not sure how intentional it is but i wanted to bring it to the publics attention anyway. They already had these turning issues in rise so i cant say for sure its due to focus mode

I think I experience something like that in LS. I hope that bow have that juicy impact since in here I don't feel the impact when doing a spread shot.

How is "Too snappy" even a complaint? You can turn TCS 180° now.
@kokujo5288 not in an instant..imagine playing an older gen game with a keyboard for movement, it would look bad.
Its not just for hunting horn. For GL, theres this tech called Pivot Hop where you turn 180 to use your backhop as a gap closing tool. It is no longer doable in this gen as well. Im also suspecting that theyre giving the 180 turn as a focus mode exclusive which sucks because sometimes i dont want the camera to lock to where my hunter is facing

I didn't realize you could change the seikret control types. What exactly is the difference between both types?
Type 2 makes it so you don't need to "change gears" with r1 and r2. Instead the seikret controls just like the hunter does. Left stick to move and hold r1 to sprint
@@timtim1145 yea instead of having to use a brake button to slow down and stop, you just let go of the forward input and the seikret will stop.

I noticed the mighty hammer charge animation is really jank too. If you go frame by frame you can see both of your characters wrists break, clip through the forearms, forearms through each other, and both wrists and forearms through the handle, while swinging the handle through your characters head. Then when you chain into the the overhead bludgeon from the mighty hammer charge, your character pulls the entire handle through their whole torso.
@@lokengarviel5742 yea there are some animation jank here and there but my focus in this video currently are things that actually affect gameplay. I do hope they clean up the animations too though!

3:44 let's be real, this is in no way, shape or form a good change, it artificially lowers the skill ceiling and gives less freedom to the player. I don't think that they implemented this change for realism, they did it to force the use of Focus Mode even more.
@@Mr.House38 i had that suspicion they wanted to force focus mode on us. But it doesn’t explain this issue for MH Rise because the turning issue was in rise too. So one of my conclusions is RE engine being the culprit. Yes i agree it lowers the skill ceiling, focus mode shouldn’t be the answer for every single attack
@@torpedosoupI never noticed this issue in Rise but to be fair I have never used HH in that game so maybe that's why. Honestly tho, in Wilds HH is not the only weapon with this issue, pretty much all the weapons that I tried had it, so I think that it is intentional.

If the turning stuff is intentional, then my guess would be to emphasize the value of "Focus mode" and the precision it offers, like how much the Greatsword can move while attacking when in focus mode, even in mid-animation. I'm also confused by your first "fix" regarding focus mode - maybe I'm misremembering how it worked in the beta cause I only played it for a little while, but couldn't you use focus mode to attack in any direction you want, including at an angle? Does focus mode force you to face the monster? Ultimately I agree with your concerns! As a side question, what's your opinion on the reduced hitstop?
@@pocketjoe oh ofcourse focus mode doesnt force u to face the monster, but it forces the attack towards the camera, and my camera is usually pointed at the monster. So if i want to use an angled attack without facing the monster with the assistance of focus mode, i need to force my camera away from the monster, which is not ideal hahaha. The hit stop is not a major concern for me, but i know it creates the illusion of a powerful hit. I know alot of ppl already brought that to capcoms attention tho.

I always try new weapons with every MH game but find my way back to longsword everytime, IDK why people hate the weapon so much but it's my favourite.
