- Customer came in with EEC61 displaying on their screen, once we connected with our Diagnostic Link software we were able to see fault code Regen Temperature Out of Range Low SPN 3556 FMI 1.
Don’t go and have your filters baked and cleaned just yet.
Step 1: check your Diesel Doser Valve, which is located behind the turbo outlet. You will need a 14mm and a 12mm wrench
Step 2: remove your diesel doser valve, inspect for soot blockage, clean S-Pipe and use shop air if needed, then reinstall
Step 3: perform a parked regen and monitor he numbers Авто/Мото
After watching this video, I realize the shop I used last week totally screwed me over. I had a check engine light on and they baked my filters, put a new def pump and def doser on. I left, put less than 20 miles on the truck and the light came back on. When I took it back, they took the 7th injector off and showed me how it was broken and caked with Carbon. They put another one on. I really need to get my own diagnostic tool.
There are a few options out there. I use the original software because it can do just about everything I need at our shop.
A few customers have OTR or some even have the pirate version which seems to work for them.
If you have any questions let me know. I’ll help as best I can.
Finally someone that explains what is actually going on. Instead of just saying push this button, Very informative video,
Thank you
After looking at how simple the design of the Detroit aftertreatment injector is and how smooth and informative their software is , I kinda wonder why Cummins' designed of the 7th injector and software are antiquated. Cummins makes it hard for even the skill techs to work on the aftertreatment system. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy watching a different engine from mine.
Thank you for this video, very helpful for understanding the system and process.
Thank you. This video saved me monet and time
Thank you so much for a great helpful video
very helpful video, really appreciate it
God bless you
❤thnk you
Hi buddy very good video. Have diferente question I have 2009 freightliner Columbia with 14l Detroit and I can make my pto increase the RPM ON IDLE do you have any Recommendations? Than you
You really need a longer hemroid brush, i have had them create a carbon wall 6-8" down the pipe. It comes from ideling and the doser dribble. I would replace the doser. Last i looked they are $56 fleet price
Is it possible to clean DP filter without taking it out?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello! Thanks for the video. I have similar issue on my 2012 DD15 cascadia.
I get EEC61 3556spn fail 18 before the regen light comes on.
After performing the regen, i get EEC61 3610spn fail 2
But then few hours later, the check engine and warning light goes away. But it comes back again. What would be the first thing to do?
Sounds like there might be plug situation. What are the pressures? Especially the DOC inlet.
Try running a regen and see what the numbers are.
@@CarlosDieselElectric Thank you for you comment! Mechanic was seeing the temperature while doing regen, and said the numbers look good
Doc inlet temp 650’s
Doc outlet temp 1000+
Dpf outlet 1025
@@lathedieselchef5741 what was the pressure for the DOC inlet?
@@CarlosDieselElectric Dpf inlet was1.42 psi / outlet was 0.42psi
I’ve seen techs that say I can test my NoX sensor outlet by removing it from its port and letting it lay outside the port in the fresh air while you do a regen.
If I can do a regen with the outlet NoX sensor uninstalled couldn’t I just zip tie it to something and drive it to the shop?
I have secured the outlet sensor and performed a parked regen. This has helped increase the NOx efficiency and allowed the truck to clear the codes and derate.
@@CarlosDieselElectric but could it be driven to the shop in this configuration? Not just regeneration but driven?
I have my truck at FL dealership now. They replaced the nox sensors, now the four hour forced regen will be interupted ,and engine light, check engine light, engine stop light all came on, with bunch of codes. Any suggestions ?
The DOC face plug routine will run 4.5 hours.
If they are running the routine it means the face of the DOC may be plugged. Ask them what the DOC inlet pressure is reading before during and after. If it is 1.15 then technically Detroit considers that plugged.
Let’s start with the pressure on the inlet.
@@CarlosDieselElectric they gave a code 5018/18
Does temperature fail by DPF leaking in gaskets?
Yes. The front V Clamp and the rear clamp with the seal should create a tight seal and not allow exhaust leaks.
This can definitely effect temperatures.
hi There, great info. Im using the older version of the diagnostic link on my 2013 DD13 Cascadia spitting out derate code and 3226 - 13 ( outlet Nox) so, I ran a region and didn't get hot enough with no fuel dose activity and the extra boxes next to the fuel dose sectiontion didn't pop up. I also don't have the green and red boxes for the box sensors as yours does. My question is, can it be the bad outlet nox, telling the act or ecu to not spray the fuel dosing into the exhaust because of the bad sensor? Because I'm not getting a bad dosing fault. Tomorrow I'm changing the 7th injector because I did clean it along with the the S-pipe with no luck after a 90 mile drive.
Let me know if I'm making any sense. FYI my outlet not was not reading during regen
What is the DOC inlet pressure during the regen? The DOC inlet temp has to reach approximately 550 to start dosing
When you are starting the regen, do you notice if the engine brake goes to 100%
Doc outlet temp was in the 700's and engine brake at 100%. I did have to start the doc face plug cleaning and then abort it. Once I did that it activated the doser. I actually cleaned it and installed a new one just in case. So now I was able to perform a regen saw the doser pop up and it was roughly at 12 % allowing dpf outlet temp in the 1100 range. All looked great except for nox efficiency was at .02550 and never moved from start up and now it's came up def air pressure high. Fault 4335- 14. So I disconnected the outlet nox and put on a new one outside the box to get that 100% reading and still didn't read it. Abs light is on and def blinking. It did bring me into DPF zone 0 from being at 2. I'm lost at this point. The next thing I'm assuming is the harness.
I also forget to mention, def is good quality and Tank still full after 4 regens and a 90mile drive. This is making me nuts lol
If I can call you to explain the whole situation on the phone that'll be so helpful. I know it's something easy, I just need a second brain lol. Let me know if that's possible.
I have same problem. But I’m in New York. I change doser injector. I clean dpf filters. I change doc temperature . Now I’m ordered new doc temperature. Let see what will happen. I will update you. I will check harness of dpf too.
What year is your truck?
2016
@@CarlosDieselElectric
Hi.
Doc inlet temperature 813
Doc outlet temperature 1227
DPF outlet temperature 1164
Engine coolant temperature 223
Engine intake manifold 117
Doc inlet pressure 1.405
DPF1.034
Actual DPF 0
And doc outlet temperature was drop and go high
I start park regen.
Now it’s said. Your doc outlet temperature very high code Spn 3250 fmi 0
Since we had last conversation. I change the doc outlet temperature sensor
@@Armannortheast the DOC inlet pressure is too high. You have a face plug situation with the DOC.
You may have to perform the face plug cleaning routine to lower the pressure. Or have the One Box baked.
When the face is plugged, it can cause high temperatures because of the plug
What’s the name of the line that you took off to get to the 7th injector? The one that you said be careful not to break. Mine is bent up pretty bad.
The line supplies diesel from the doser block to the 7th injector.
Diesel supply line. Looks like a brake line
@@CarlosDieselElectric thank you. The one on my truck looks bent pretty bad. Do you have an idea of a price range to replace that. I’m scared what’ll happen if it breaks.
@@dominqueferrari5196 I don’t believe they are expensive. Just more time consuming to replace.
@@CarlosDieselElectric great info. Thank you!
Hi, love your videos what state are you located at?
We are in a Montebello, Ca
659 S Maple Ave.
I have a cascadia with 3556 code in which during the regen the fuel doser injection status never becomes active doc inlet reaches 800 degrees
During the regen, once the DOC inlet reaches 800. What are the temp?
Also, what year and how many miles.?
@@CarlosDieselElectric 250k miles 2016 doc inlet reaches 800 degrees along with the doc outlet just doesn't get high enough to complete a regen because the doser is not injecting status not becoming active fuel compensation press is 85 psi doser line is 45 psi but injection status never becomes active..new doser block..
@@TheDivineCode10 could be a bad MCM. Try installing a test or used MCM and the running a regen.
I have seen this where the truck starts the regen but will not start the actual regen. Replaced the MCM and was successful
I’m working on a truck and the I’ve cleaned the 7th injector but it never sprays fuel. The Regan never finishes also
What is the DOC inlet pressure?
Are the engine brakes going to 100% when you start the regen?
What year and how many miles?
@@CarlosDieselElectricafter about 15 minutes the doc inlet temperature stays around 780-795 it doesn’t go higher than that. 2016, 507,729 miles
@@CarlosDieselElectricI’m also not getting any fault codes
@@CarlosDieselElectric I was scrolling threw the comment and I saw you said to try replacing the mcm, I swapped it out for a different one and the 7th injector started working and the regen completed
@cfgflex8427 nice. Well done. Glad you found the problem
I have 15 cascadia with 3556 code. I cleaned out the 7th injector and cleared the light, but it keeps coming on with no codes at all. Any clue why it keeps coming on?
Run a regen and monitor the temp on the inlet and outlet. Also what is the DOC and DPF psi?
Same here bro...im in cali stuck..
How can u do a parked regen???
I have white smoke coming from 7th injector....fuel line was replaced along with doser injector....3 weeks later same issue
@stratefacts9075 I don't think you can do a park regen with the engine line on. My diesel tech replaced the 7th injector and said all my numbers were good, but the light keeps coming on and goes in to derate.
What software is this jpro?
I use Diagnostic Link DDDL is available from Nexiq
@@CarlosDieselElectricwhat do u do when at the bottom go green then red and back and forth on a cascadia dd15
How about 4077 fail 14???
Could be a circuit failed of bad sensor on the Doser block. The block may be less expensive to replace instead of the sensors. The sensors can be around $175 or more. But check your harness first for any signs of contamination. Also check the harness at the MCM and the injector harness
